Story
Look at these pictures and guess what is Bubbles' favorite toy. That's right...Lambchop! Bubbles is a 3-year-old lab mix and weighs 50 lb. He has the the cutest stub tail and the most adorable ears. Bubbles was a local owner surrender and went from living outside in a yard to now living at a loving and supportive foster home. His foster says "Bubbles is a different dog than when I first got him. He has adapted very well to living indoors. Bubbles is extremely affectionate but he needs a little time and patience when meeting new people. Bubbles is playful, loyal and listens well when called by name. He is sometimes clumsy on his long legs. He gets along well with other dogs. Bubbles needs some leash training and can get mouthy when excited, but he is easy to redirect. Bubbles is fully housetrained." Bubbles would do best in a home without young children and would do well with a dog friend to play with. He would do best in a home without cats. Bubbles is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and healthy. His adoption fee is $395. If you would like to meet/adopt Bubbles, please complete our online application at https://daws.org/daws-forms. Email daws@daws.org if you need assistance or have any questions. Here is a video of Bubbles talking a walk with his favorite toy: https://youtube.com/shorts/wcHn3ur08cU

Story
Beatrix, affectionately known as BeeBee to her foster family, is a charming one-year-old, 48 lb. pit/lab mix with a heart-melting face and the most adorable ears you'll ever see. Originally a stray from South Carolina, Beatrix now calls Connecticut her home, where she's winning hearts left and right with her friendly nature. She is a bundle of love who thrives on human companionship and affection. Beatrix adores spending time with people, soaking up cuddles whenever she can. Active and energetic, she enjoys outdoor activities like walks, rolling around in the grass, sunbathing by the pool, and even a jog now and then. She walks well on a leash and is tolerant of crate time, though her preference is undoubtedly curling up in bed with her humans or cozying up on the couch. Beatrix is a quick learner and is diligently working on her commands, showing remarkable progress. Her love for her foster family knows no bounds; she sticks close to them and showers them with affection. A true people-lover, she hasn't met a person she doesn't adore. While Beatrix is friendly with other dogs, living with them has proven challenging due to her tendency to get jealous. She may do best as the only pet in the household. If you have another dog, a few introductions would be necessary to ensure compatibility. She also shows interest in kitties, so a cat-free home would be ideal. Beatrix is great with kids and would make a wonderful companion for a family with a fenced yard where she can play and explore. Beatrix's journey from stray to beloved family member is a testament to her resilience and loving nature. If you're looking for a loyal, cuddly, and active companion, Beatrix might just be the perfect match for you! Her adoption fee is $400 and she is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed. If you are interested in this cutie, please complete the application at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. Story
This adorable pup is Ginger. She is 8-months-old and weighs 30 lb. We think she is a chocolate lab/pit mix and expect she will be about 45 lb full grown. Ginger is a very sweet puppy who would benefit from an experienced owner that's willing to work on training and obedience using positive reinforcement to help build her confidence. She is happy and social and loves kids. She seems afraid of cats and loves some dogs but not others. Ginger may need a little work on socialization but will be worth the effort! Ginger is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and healthy. Her adoption fee is $395. If you would like to meet/adopt Ginger, please complete our online application at https://daws.org/daws-forms or stop by at our shelter Wednesday-Sunday between 12 and 6 PM. The DAWS shelter address is 147 Grassy Plain St. Bethel. Ginger can't wait to meet you!

Story
This adorable pup is Copper. He is a 7-month-old chocolate lab/terrier mix and weighs 28 lb. We expect he will be about 40 lb full grown. Copper is a happy, friendly pup. He loves to play and has fun with toys. He is affectionate and people oriented. Copper is food motivated and should be easy to train. He previously lived with other dogs. Story
This pretty girl is Clair. She is an 11-month-old lab/terrier mix and weighs 39 lb. She is about done growing. Clair is at a foster home, not at our shelter. Her foster says "Clair has been a pleasure to have around! It took her a single night to warm up to me and since then, she has been attached to my hip. Clair is housetrained and seems to be a very quick learner. She is great with my dog. She does not jump and takes treats and toys very gently. Clair is happy to hit a walk or cuddle up and take long naps. She will make anyone very happy!" We think Clair would be fine in a home with children of all ages. Despite this heartbreaking loss, Buddy remained steadfast by his sibling's side, honoring their memory for what may have been days until he was eventually rescued. Now, Buddy is in need of a loving forever home. This incredible pup is a young large breed mix, full of playfulness and affection. Currently located in CT, Buddy has shown to be excellent with dogs of all sizes. While his compatibility with cats is uncertain, he has demonstrated a friendly disposition towards people and children. Buddy is full of energy and enjoys an active lifestyle. He does not have any health concerns and may exhibit some jumping when excited, although not excessively. He is walks well on a leash, and is taken outside three times a day.
