Story
I'm a 13-month old Labrador Retriever mix. I love running behind my people all day long at home! I love going to dog parks and playing with other dogs. Fresh cut grass and digging gives me the zoomies! I enjoy greeting people, but my excitement frequently gets the best of me, and I can't help but jump up to say hello. I am working on my speaking skills but sometimes I have to let you or the dog walking by know what's on my mind. I am a quick learner, though, especially when treats are involved. Sit? Stay? Heel? Come? Easy peasy! Treats are my weakness, and I'd do just about anything for a tasty reward. I'm great at listening and anytime there are treats involved, you have my fullest attention! I need some help with leash training as I can get super excited when seeing other dogs. I am potty trained and crate trained but taking me out after a big chug is always a good idea! I am a puppy so I cant hold it for long. I love playing with other dogs at the dog park. I would do fine with another dog at home or I may be okay on my own with my humans as long as I have an outlet for my energy. I'm not too sure about cats. I have not had a lot of experience with kids but I love all people and love getting rubs and scratches! I am a little jumpy so maybe older children would be best. I love squeaky toys and enjoy a good tug of war with ropes. My ideal home would be where I have a fun group of people/dogs who can take me on long walks, to the dog parks and play with me! I can get bored sometimes and find things to chew on but I think it's just me being a puppy. I can't wait to meet my forever family! My Adoption Fee includes a training program specific for my needs.

Story
🐾🌟 **Meet Oliver: A Good Dog Deserving of a Forever Home** 🌟🐾 Oliver has had a bit of a rough start in life, but his resilient spirit and loving nature shine through despite it all. Bounced around too much for less than a year of life, Oliver is searching for stability and a loving family to call his own. 🏡 **Background:** Originally taken from his first home by a caring delivery driver who witnessed his neglect, Oliver then found himself living with an elderly gentleman who, unfortunately, couldn't keep up with his lively energy. Thankfully, a compassionate neighbor stepped in to help him find his way into rescue. 🐶 **Personality and Traits:** Oliver is a great young dog with a ton of potential. He's smart, very trainable, and full of energy. He loves to run, jump, and play, especially with other dogs as seen in his YouTube video! While he may accidentally knock down small animals or kids due to his exuberance, he's incredibly affectionate and eager to give enthusiastic kisses to anyone who crosses his path. Oliver walks well on a leash, is kennel and house trained, and would thrive in a home with a yard and plenty of human companionship. 🩺 **Health:** Though Oliver does have some hip dysplasia, he shows no clinical symptoms and it doesn't bother him in the least. With proper care and attention, he's ready to enjoy a happy and active life with his forever family. 💕 **Adoption Details:** Oliver's adoption fee is $300, and applications can be found at fromforgottentoforever.com/adoptionapplication/. If you're looking for a loyal companion who's ready to fill your home with love and laughter, consider opening your heart to Oliver. Let's give him the stable and loving forever home he deserves! 🐾❤️

Story
Hey there! I’m Randy, an 11-week-old Retriever mix , and I’m on the lookout for my forever family! Can’t tell by my photo, I’m pretty sad without a family to call my own. Despite my tough start—being chased for hours by Animal Control before my mom, siblings, and I were rescued—I’ve blossomed into a calm, shy, and incredibly lovable little guy.  I absolutely adore playing with my foster family’s three dogs , spending time with my foster parents, and getting lots of love from their grandchildren. I’m working hard on my crate training, though I must admit, I’d much rather snuggle up next to you on the floor or in your lap . Potty training is coming along well, and I’m eager to learn more every day. My siblings, Brandy (who’s also available for adoption) and Mike (who’s already found his forever home), and I had a rough beginning. Our mom, a sweet Labrador Retriever mix weighing 76 lbs, was incredibly brave, protecting us until we were all brought to safety. While we’re not sure about our dad’s breed—maybe a cattle dog mix?—I can tell you that I’ve inherited a heart full of love and a spirit ready for adventure.  I’m still very young and just beginning my training adventures, but I’m very attentive and will come when called . If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s ready to fill your life with joy, look no further!  Ready to make me a part of your family? Story
Are you looking for a canine companion who is cuddly, fun, and will always keep you laughing? That's Klaira! She is a giant goofball who will show you her best zoomies in the yard, while give the most amazing snuggles on the couch. She has completed a board and train program, though she will still occasionally pretend she can't hear you if you ask her to sit without a treat handy. Klaira has also been fantastic with children. Klaira has been waiting for a family for over a year now, all because she wants to be the center of attention in her new home. She is dog selective, and recommended best for a home without other dogs or ones that have dogs she coexists with well. A meet and greet is a must for any existing dogs in the home. She has completed heartworm treatment and is now heartworm negative!  Foster update: Klaira settled right in at our house. She loves playing with our 3 year old dog and our kiddos. She is happy to run around after the kids or to cuddle up next to you (preferably with her head on your arm). We were surprised to  discover her literally jumping on the trampoline with the kids earlier today. We have also learned that she loves to give leg hugs with her front paws! I love how her ears fold up and over her head when she is focused on something. She is 5 years old so as you would expect, she is fully potty trained, sleeps well and does a good job on walks. We tried out multiple commands on her and she seems to know sit, down, stay and come. If you are looking for a cuddly, fun girl to instantly fit in at your home, Klaira is your girl! Volunteer Notes: Wow, what a chonky little mama! She’s a tiny little thing and has the cutest floppy ears. She is super friendly and a total extrovert. She loved getting pets and attention from everyone. Took treats gently but only liked the good ones. She cuddled up to me and loved getting some head scratches. Another volunteer came into the yard and she absolutely loved getting his attention too. She did great sniffing other dogs next to us and is overall an amazing gal! She’s on the shorter side and is just so cute! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##1683343##

Story
Meet Soren, an incredibly smart and playful puppy with a whole lot of energy! Soren is currently working on potty training—he’s made great progress but still has a few accidents here and there. Like his brother, he can play a bit rough at times, but he’s learning from the older dogs to be a little more gentle.  Soren is a true puppy in every sense—chewing everything in sight, but he’s got plenty of toys and chew options to keep him entertained. This little guy is also impressively clever—he’s already figured out how to use the stairs to reach the couch, showing off his growing independence and problem-solving skills! While he’s still perfecting his leash skills, Soren is getting more used to his harness and enjoys his walks, though he can easily get distracted by all the exciting new smells and sights. When he's not chewing or learning something new, he loves running laps around the kitchen table and into the living room, always ready to burn off that playful puppy energy before taking a well-deserved nap. Soren would thrive in a home where he can continue learning, growing, and exploring. If you're ready to welcome this smart, energetic puppy into your life, Soren could be the perfect fit for your family! This litter was rescued from a euthanasia list in a high kill shelter in Texas. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events!
