Story
We rescued Penny about 6 years ago. She can be aggressive with other animals at first. But then turns into a sweetheart. She will not bite, just bark loudly and look mean. She loves kids and attention. She will cuddle up and ask for belly rubs. Sad to have to give her up, but I have been moving too often with my job and it is not fair for her and can’t give her the attention she deserves.

Hello, this handsome fella is Henry. He is 6 years old, a big Teddy bear and loves chasing birds. I am helping my mother find Henry a new home. She is retiring soon and will be downsizing. The listing shows as a year old because we had posted our dog Bailey here a year ago but was able to keep her. She's doing great. We just repurposed the original posting.

Vivi is a great dog. Loves to lay in the sun. She's a lover. She does have some allergies so she needs shots for, plus baths to keep the fritos smell away. She's good with other dogs she's a big girl so little dogs might get rolled over by her. She good with bigger kids but little curious baby's do annoy her. Other than that she's a great girl.

Meet Betsy, the super sweet girl who defines the term "nanny dog"— including raising her best friend's puppies! (Just see the photos ; ) She is adoring of others, wonderfully patient, and has the most gentle, vigilant nature. Betty thrives when she is close to other dogs, offering quiet comfort and companionship. If you are looking for a loyal, nurturing, and incredibly tender-hearted companion who will shower every member of your family with devoted attention, Betsy is ready to be your most caring co-pilot. She is pure love, wrapped in fur! Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.  Personality | Betsy is learning how t o trust people and how to enjoy being a dog. She loves cuddling up in your pillows, or on your couch. She has learned how fun stuffies are and loves prancing with them around the yard. She is also learning what play means, and has enjoyed running around the yard playing tag. Story | Found in the bush in TX!Other Dogs | She adores Mama Mabel and also is friendly with the other dogs in her foster home! Cats | Good with cats! She is being fostered with  kitty and ignores him! Children | Great with kiddos once she warms up!Training | Leash | Activity Level | Health Notes | Betsy is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education and care. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians, and has already started her treatment process. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. Don't let this stop you from adopting this sweet gal!Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $575 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year old, $525 for 1 - 6 years old, $475 for dogs 7 - 10 years old, and $350 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $625. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, transportation to Colorado, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $750 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet and greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. We will not respond to emails about animal availability or allow meet and greets without an approved adoption application on file. Please Note | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved.  Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!March 8, 2026, 12:42 am
