Story
I made a sudden move from South Florida to Colorado. My puppy (8 months) is the BEST boy. Unfortunately, he was a gift from my ex and I cannot care for him the way he deserves. I want him to have the best home. He is house-trained and great with all animals and people. He has had puppy training and is very very smart. He is a 100% pure chocolate lab that is not yet neutered, I wanted to wait until he was developed to a year for this. I honestly have nothing bad to say about him, he is as well-behaved as a puppy can be. All he needs is lotsssss of love and a family that can give him the attention and love he deserves. I will not be giving him away lightly. I only want him to go to the very best home.

Story
Gaze into his eyes and cute Canelo will capture your heart! All 43 lbs of this 10.5-month-old boy are sweet, social, easygoing, and happy. He enjoys walks, playing with stuffie toys, chasing tennis balls, chewing on sturdy rubber toys, with breaks in between for cuddle time. Canelo loves playing with other dogs and joyfully greets new people. He’s working on his leash skills and is almost fully crate and house-trained. Motivated by food, love, and toys, he currently knows “sit,” "down," and “off” and if you’ve got a treat, he’s happy to learn more! Now all Canelo marshmallow needs is an active and loving home, with adopter(s) ready to take him on adventures, give him endless belly rubs, complete his training, and adore him for all of his days!   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. Story
If friendliness had a face, it would be 1-year-old Felipe’s face. While the 40-pound black-and-white beauty was initially shy, once he warmed up to his fosters, he wanted nothing more than to snuggle and cuddle with them, rest his head on them, sleep on top of them and then follow them everywhere. Preferring to be petted under the chin rather than above the head, Felipe does a fine rendition of the ranger crawl, is fabulously frisky with his doggy foster friends, and politely respects the senior dog’s boundaries. Percolating with puppy enthusiasm and energy, he loves going on walks, zigzagging slightly in his eagerness to meet other dogs, enjoys playing games of fetch, playing with toys, especially balls, and chewing bones. Motivated by food and toys, he currently knows “come” and “leave it,” and is crate-trained and almost fully house-trained. Only just starting life’s journey, Felipe will fit perfectly into a particularly loving home, preferably with another playful dog, and patient adopters who will bolster his confidence, complete his training, including his commands, and keep him content, mentally and physically, fur-ever. See more photos of Felipe here.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. Story
Ever so LARGE in love, beautiful 3-year-old Lilah is blissfully unaware of her size. The sweet 49-pound former puppy mama, so soft and so wiggly, starts her mornings by stretching across her foster mom, then happily leaping into her lap for cuddles and pets before rolling over for belly rubs. As active as she is affectionate, Lilah loves tossing plush toys up in the air, catching and then tossing them up again, going for walks and on hikes, playing with other equally energetic dogs at the dog park and chasing rabbits and squirrels in the backyard. Highly motivated by food, toys and love, she’s particularly fond of such “treats” as bully sticks, bones, antlers and Kongs. Eager to learn and to please, she’s presently at work on her “sit” command, improving her leash manners, and is nearly crate and house-trained. Now all Lilah needs to thrive is an active home with a securely fenced yard, older children, another playful pup and adoring adopters who will patiently perfect her manners, complete her training, including her commands, and ensure that her enviable energy is well spent fur-ever. Story
Introducing Sojo! This sweet little lady has been failed THREE times in her short life - hard to imagine how since she is only7 months old! (Goes to show you how bleak conditions are in Texas for dogs) Sojo was found as a stray as a teeny tiny 12lb puppy, adopted, returned 3 days later, adopted a 2nd time and returned by her 'family' to the shelter 3 months later - with a request to euthanize her! The NERVE!! She looked awful when returned with a lot of hairloss and mange. Her foster dad saw that she was on the euthanasia list at our local shelter and wanted to help her make it out alive. This time she deserves a good life and a family that won't give up on her! Sojo is a rambunctious little lightning bolt who loves chasing after toys and transforming into a cozy cuddle buddy when playtime is over. She is a social butterfly, eager to make friends and engage in endless playdates. She would be the perfect pup to take out to a brewery or join you on a hike and then pass out in some crazy sleeping position in puppy cuteness. She rides well in the car, plopping over for a snooze when you hit the interstate. Sojo is now kennel and potty trained! Like all puppies she will need continued training to be the best Sojo she can be.  If this adorable gal with the cutest tiny ears sounds like your new best friend apply today! Please contact  Destination Rescue Dogs at info@destinationrescue.org or amber.schroeder@gmail.com (Phone: 602-743-0006). Sojo is currently being fostered in Houston Texas but is available for adoption many places around the country.  This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs. This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs. Please contact the email listed in this post. Lady is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas, but is available for transport to many locations. The adoption fee includes the cost of transport. For more info or to apply to adopt, please contact    Destination Rescue Dogs at   info@destinationrescue.org   or   amber.schroeder@gmail.com or   602-743-0006 Hello hoomans! I’m Lady and I’m looking for my very own family. Despite being a wonderful mother to my pups, I was surrendered to a high kill shelter with my puppies and scheduled for euthanasia. Good thing Destination Rescue saved me because I promise I will make the very bestest family dog for my very own family. I love playing, especially with other dogs though plush toys are also really fun! I also enjoy naps and snuggles with ear and belly rubs and would be thrilled if you want to share your bed with me. I am food motivated and learning basic commands with a clicker at my foster house. I am a cautious learner, though once I know you are trustworthy (ahem, hello treats), you have a loyal, smart friend for life. I do not like being alone (and will vocalize a sad song to remind you) and prefer the company of another dog. While I am essentially house trained, I am still working on my manners (like keeping my 4 paws on the ground) and respond well to positive reinforcement. I am cautious and a little stubborn, so I do like to do things on my own terms (like with crate training) and I am making lots of progress on that. I will make a great addition to a family, joining another dog and older kids who have time to play and walk with me while also providing lots of snuggle time. Lady is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 60 lbs. We believe she could be a mix of Carolina dog, Husky or Lab. We are guessing at breed and age based on the shelter's description, personality traits and vet suggestions. Lady might be a fun DNA test! Click here for more photos of Lady!
