Story
Sweet Tristan is a 1 year old, 51-ish lbs, male, mixed breed. He has a sleek, slender body and an agile, friendly, curious nature. We suspect Tristan has some Black Mouth Cur and Rhodesian Ridgeback in his lineage. Tristan loves canine friends. He’s a cautious in new situations and finds great comfort in the company of his canine companions. Tristan will do well in a home with a fenced in yard so he can have plenty of room to romp, play, and work on his confidence building. He rides fine in a car, but is nervous to get into one and he’s working on his leash manners, too. He’s very much a pup still and is eager to learn and please! Tristan is in foster in Firestone, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/tristan. Story
Richie is a 40 lbs, lab mix who is around 6 years old. He’s a Heinz 57 mixture packed with personality! Richie is a retired Houston stray looking for his forever family. We wish we could ask Richie how to describe the first few years of his life, but we will have to settle for guessing. Richie clearly had a human or humans in his life who loved him at one point. He came to us knowing about living in a house, routines and food times. He knows how to walk on a leash, how to take a bath, and how to behave in a crate. He loves to roll in the grass, get belly rubs, and give hugs. He knows ‘sit’, ‘shake’, fetch, loves playing with toys, and loves kids and people fiercely. He’s also quite the talker, not only with his amazing facial expressions but his ‘sass’ when he wants something of his humans 🤣 Ok…now for the not so good. Richie was picked up as a stray with no ID on him and never reclaimed. Then he ended up on a high kill shelter euthanasia list after he went unnoticed by everyone until our rescue agreed to save his life. He was well behaved there and only listed for space/time. Richie had pesky heartworms and recently finished his treatment. He also had many fractured teeth with root exposures and required an extensive dental surgery to remove many teeth to prevent pain and recurring infections. Given he is a well behaved boy in is foster home and in his crate, we can only imagine what he went through in life to damage his teeth to that extent. Richie is one healthy, happy boy now with no ongoing medical issues. He has a low-moderate energy level and will do well in a variety of home types, but he is a bit dog selective and doesn’t care for dogs larger than him (c’mon, is he really the first man with a size complex). Once he decides he doesn’t like a dog, he’s not really interested in working on the relationship 🤣. He seems to do best with female dogs and he likes ‘em on the smaller side (he’s a cliche, what can we say). He also seems fine with felines. If you like to have your friends and all their dogs over for drinks, he’s probably not your guy. If you live a quieter, calmer life without the comings and goings of a pack of canines, then he’s the one for you! Richie is in foster with Frenchie and he’s in looooove….should you be looking for two. Richie is in foster in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/richie You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Milo is a 1-1.5-year-old, male, Heeler/Lab mix. He’s a very sweet boy that’s around 50 lbs. Milo loves dog friends, romping and playing around, and then snuggling in with a companion (human or canine will do) for a quick power nap. In his foster home, he uses the doggie door to go outside and he sleeps in a kennel next to the other dogs. He’s been around kiddos and he’s done just fine. He’s a young man, so will benefit from a home with a yard and playful dog friend (or two, or heck, even 3). He’d be a great workout partner and would really thrive with some food puzzles and mind games. Milo is in foster in Aurora, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/milo You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Lars is a handsome, redhead that’s the son of Lucy and he’s the reason we think these pups have some lab in them. He has show-stopping green eyes and a gorgeous red coat. Lars is active, curious, and playful like a lab. He loves kids and wants to be with his humans at all times. We think he’s around 10 weeks old. Due to mama being clearly a terrier of some sorts and weighing only 14 lbs, we suspect Lars will be around 30 lbs. However, those having strict weight requirements should be careful not to fall for his stunning face as only time will tell how this boy will grow. Lars is in foster in Mead, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/lars You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Sweet Orphan Annie! This beautiful girl first entered the system in November of 2024. She was a stray, unclaimed and unwanted, from the streets of Houston, TX. Annie caught our eye when we saw her being networked due to being euthanasia listed. So, she made her way to safety and landed in a loving foster home here in Colorado. Annie LOVES love! She’s very affectionate and can be found actually hugging her humans. She’s an amazing snuggle bunny, too! Annie is playful with other dogs and can often be caught snuggling up to Gordon (another MHCR adoptable dog). Once she’s put on the recommended amount of weight, we suspect Annie will weigh around 70 lbs. She’s only around a year old and has her whole life ahead of her to grow with her new family. Annie is being fostered in Greeley, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/annie/.
