Story
Otto is a loving and playful Lab/Pit mix. He is great with kids and dogs, he was born just under a year ago into a home with two young children and two other dogs, and he loves to play with someone who has the energy to match his. We have unfortunately ran into a situation where we can no longer house him. We would love to find him a home where he has the opportunity to be a loving companion to a great person or family who loves dogs. He will be missed dearly.

To apply or learn more, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2024/4/16/puppyember-cm64a Meet Eve a spayed 5 month lab shepherd mix 🖤 Good with dogs, kids and most likely good with cats given slow proper intros Energetic, engaging, fun, trainable, social Looking for a home ready for all things puppy & beyond! A lifetime of companionship, vetting and care through all of life’s stages, changes, ups and downs. Recommend a home with kids 8+ as she is working on not jumping but can currently knock little kids down Slim, lanky build, best guess will be 50 lbs full grown $350 adoption donation includes spay rabies dhpp bordatella dewormed flea tick treated and microchipped Ideal home will: Have the time to commit to all things puppy! Please note puppies do not do well left alone long hours and need to be let out every 2-3 hours for potty. Long work schedule where the puppy would be left alone for 7+ hours can be difficult on most puppies and young dogs. Solid plans for puppy socialization, positive exposure and continued training + relationship building -- commitment not just to puppyhood but to a lifetime of love, care, companionship and vetting. HFP advocates for Positive Reinforcement only for young puppies and training that focuses less on "obedience" and more on confidence building, relationship building and consent training. Preference to homes w/ friendly & well-trained dog role models (preference, NOT required) Preference to homes w/ yards (preferred, NOT required) Why? Puppies cannot go in public until they are 4 month old and complete their puppy shot series. Having a yard during this time greatly helps with play, potty training, and providing an outlet for your puppy to get outside. There are ways to work around this if you do live in an apartment setting but it takes some extra work and planning! Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! Story
Meet Daphne - the beauty queen! Daphne is about 2.5 months old and is the cutest little love muffin. You better watch out, because she is bound to steal your heart with her velvety soft coat and endearing personality. She is looking for a large dog-savvy active family who has the time to dedicate to helping her grow up to be the best girl she can be. Daphne currently weighs around 12lbs and will likely be at least 50-60lbs when fully grown. Daphne came to us from a local shelter after she was found abandoned with her three siblings. The puppies were at the shelter for a few weeks, during which time one of the four siblings was adopted. One of our foster homes then stepped up to foster the remaining trio. Daphne is the last of the group to be adopted. Daphne is the pretty one of the group, but she isn't just a cute face. She is such an affectionate girl who loves to make new friends and explore. When she isn't adding new people to her fan base, her favorite activities include wrestling with her siblings and racing around with her squeaker toys. She is doing great learning her basic manners, but has lots to learn and needs a family who can commit the time to continue her training. She would be a great candidate for puppy classes. Daphne has done well meeting new dogs and we think she would do best in a home with a playful dog who can mentor her, and so she always has a buddy to romp around with. Daphne hasn't met cats before but is young enough that she could probably do well living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Daphne could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 10 years or older. Daphne is still working on her house and crate training but has been doing well learning. Her new family will need to be patient with her and consistent with letting her out to help her learn. Daphne hasn't spent too much time alone, so she needs a family who has a schedule that will allow her to slowly get comfortable with being left alone. Daphne is such an amazing little girl and she can't wait to meet her fur-ever family. if you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!   Daphne's adoption fee is $350.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website  (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. December 20, 2024, 9:14 pm
