Buddy was rescued from a kill shelter in Houston. He’s a two-years old purebred lab, neutered, fifty pounds and in good health. He’s wonderful with other dogs and people! Loves to play! Loves car rides! Buddy is high energy and needs someone patient who will make sure he gets lots of exercise and training. Someone who loves to hike, so he can run along your side. Someone with dog experience is a must. Buddy's a sweet little boy that’s looking for his forever home and like all labs, has a lot of love to give. He's being fostered in Houston. He's an owner surrender (due to lack of time for him), but he's clearly had some training; combined with his shepherd smarts, he's very well-mannered for being in the adolescence phase of puppyhood! -- Crate-trained, house-trained -- Walks well loose-leash with front-clip harness -- Knows "sit", "lay down", "paw" (learns commands in about 24-48 hours with consistency) -- Friendly/likes other dogs, he could be a solo dog or he would love a canine companion -- Okay with cats as long as there is a proper introduction, the cats are not skittish, and consistent training to ignore the cats -- Overall moderate energy for age and breed -- Overall well-socialized, confident, happy -- Loves pets and cuddle-time, he leans into you :)

Bambi is an almost 3 month old Rottweiler mix (probably some other stuff in there too). We got him from a shelter at two months and were only told that he was a lab mix, however it has become clear to us that he is Rottweiler too. We have young children & he’d do better with older kids (he loves kids & is gentle with them when they are with him). Like most puppies, he is still learning manners, but he is super smart and a quick learner. He is partially potty trained and doing well with basic commands like sit, down and responding to his name (although I’m sure you could change it if you wanted to). He is crated at night, but otherwise is still getting used to it. He is teething pretty heavily so we give him lots of chews and chew toys and have been trying to disengage when he nips too hard - he is affectionate and sweet and responds well to redirection.

Phinie (fee-nee) is a very good girl who has tried her hardest to live in a multi-pet city home for 2+ years, but has made it clear that she is not thriving and would prefer to be in a more suburban or rural household as the only pet and center of your attention. She tried to coexist with her dog housemates, but made it clear that it wasn't ideal. Phinie is incredibly sensitive to noises coming from outside - those that she perceives to be a threat. This could be a neighbor coming down the path that separates our two houses, a car turning around in the dead end outside the house, osomeone coming to the front door. The only thing that doesn't bother her is fireworks. Her reactions to these noises are her racing outside and barking, then occasionally turning in redirected aggression onto another dog - hence her need to be an only pet. Phinie is loving and housetrained, but she would do best where she has a yard to play free from scary She will adore you as her favorite person forever.
