Story
Hi, I'm Freddie. I'm a handsome and regal looking 4 yr. old, 73 lb. black lab mix. I'm playful, friendly and affectionate. In spite of all my great qualities, I spent over a year in a shelter before SPOT rescued me (Black dogs and large breeds frequently get unfairly passed over by adopters for some reason) I love toys of all kinds and enjoy chasing a ball. I still haven't quite mastered that part about bringing it back! I get along great with other dogs and people. Unfortunately, cats, not so much. Since coming to SPOT, I have worked with a trainer to develop my leash manners and to follow basic commands. I would like to learn even more, if my new family will work with me. (Just to make sure I get off on the right track, SPOT will provide refresher sessions with my Trainer. I recently had some surgery to fix my leg and its all better.I love my daily brisk walks and romps in the backyard. Since I am a big strong dog, you should probably have experience with bigger dogs. Freddie is a dog who, more than anything deserves a second chance! He will reward that lucky family who adopts him with a lifetime of love and loyalty. Could you be that family? If you think you might, please fill out an application so we can arrange for you to meet Freddie. Freddie's Adoption fee is $300 and includes neuter, microchip and current vaccinations. How this pet arrived: Rocky was brought in by his previous owner on April 10, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Rocky, a shy but sweet boy looking for his new home. Rocky is a young dog who is still discovering how wonderful new human friends can be. Rocky adores treats and thrives on gentle care and we've seen him make both human and dog friends here in the shelter! He loves long walks where he can sniff around and enjoys playing in water! He's looking for a calm and quiet home where he can continue to blossom. Due to his sensitive nature, Rocky would do best in a household with older children (over the age of 6) who understand his need for gentle interactions. That being said, he's made dog friends of all shapes and sizes! Does Rocky sound like the one for you? Make sure to bring along the entire household to meet him! If you're ready to open your heart and home to this pup deserving of love and comfort, come meet Rocky and we will even send you home with his leash and collar! Shy/Fearful Dog: Rocky requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about him. Primary Color: Black Weight: 73.4 Age: 1yrs 10mths 1wks

How this pet arrived: Silvia was brought in by her previous owner on August 17, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Silvia, an adorable girl looking for her new home! She can be a bit nervous of new faces and places, so she'll thrive in a calm home without the hustle and bustle of young children. Silvia loves calm dogs and will need a furry companion to guide her - she's looking for a mellow, social dog who can help her feel more secure. If you have another pup at home, please bring them along for a meet-and-greet to ensure they hit it off! She has made great strides in our care and absolutely adores her walks, especially with her doggy friends! An enclosed outdoor space for potty breaks is a must to help her transition into her new home. If you're ready to show Silvia the love and patience she deserves, come by our Oceanside Campus and meet her today! We think her soft eyes and expressive face will melt your heart!
