Story
Kam is 9 years old and is such a sweet boy. He is very high energy and loves to play with people and other dogs but also loves a good snuggle on your lap. My husband and I recently started traveling for work and we have tried taking him along with us over the last couple years but the change in routine and long schedules (I am a nurse and my husband is an business owner) has terribly increased his separation anxiety. Kam could use a loving and stable home. We adopted him in 2016 and he was already microchipped and neutered. He is up to date on all his vaccines. He is house trained and crate trained. We are helping Kam's current guardian to rehome him. Please fill out our online application and we will forward to them. Adoption fee would be minimum $100 donation to Furry Friends Rescue. If you have specific questions please send them through and we will put you in touch with his current guardian.November 4, 2024, 2:12 pm

Story
Louie was found back in March 2024 emaciated and terrified wandering the streets. After offering him food he allowed himself to be carried to his new foster home where he was treated for fleas ticks and worms. Since then he has been neutered chipped and vaccinated. Although he is slow to trust new people and situations he has opened up so much and is such a goofy sweet and funny guy. He loves playing with his toys and his ideal day is to just be at home with his foster people and their dogs. He absolutely loves other dogs big and small! He knows sit stay come here go lay down and give me kisses. He's potty trained and kennel trained (he has been known to get into a bit of puppy mischief when left unsupervised for extended periods of time). We are working on building his confidence in public because due to his early trauma from life on the streets and most likely abuse/neglect from humans he can get very nervous/shy in unfamiliar settings especially loud situations. He does love routine riding in the car and tends to do pretty well on hikes/beach adventures. When he was found he was 15 lbs and now is 45 lbs. He hasn't gotten much taller (he's kind of short and long) and isn't expected to. We think he is around 8 months old now and probably a lab/pit/? mix. Although he hasn't had direct contact with kids or cats he doesn't react when passing on walks. He does take a few days to trust new people and tends to vocalize his insecurity but is a pretty quick learner and shows no signs of aggression of any kind. With a calm environment and some patience there is no doubt that Louie will make a warm addition to his new household! We are helping Louie's current guardian to rehome him. Please fill out our online application and we will forward to them. Adoption fee would be minimum $100 donation to Furry Friends Rescue. If you have specific questions please send them through and we will put you in touch with his current guardian.November 4, 2024, 2:12 pm

Story
Meet Misty, a wise and wonderful shepherd lab mix who’s nearing her 15th year. Misty embodies the grace and wisdom that only come with age. She’s spent her life being a loyal companion, and now she’s ready to find a quiet, loving home where she can enjoy her golden years. Like many seniors, Misty has faced a few challenges along the way. She’s a bit wary of strangers, especially when she’s not feeling her best. She is also selective about her doggie friends, sometimes feeling protective of her space or getting frustrated when on a leash. But don’t let that fool you—beneath it all, Misty has a heart of gold. Misty is looking for a special someone who understands the quirks that come with being a senior dog. She thrives in a calm, patient environment where she can relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of life—like a cozy bed, gentle ear rubs, and the warmth of a loving home. If you’re ready to open your heart to a senior dog who has so much love left to give, Misty is waiting to meet you. She may have a few extra needs, but she’ll reward you with endless loyalty and affection. Meet Misty, a wise and wonderful shepherd lab mix who’s nearing her 15th year. Story
Lab Mix Male, neutered 35 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Levi was picked up as a stray in Stockton, CA. One of his front legs had an elbow fracture that wasn’t attended to. The tendons were seized up in the fracture, so he couldn’t move his other joint either. The vets think he was probably hit by a car about a month before going to the animal shelter. He wasn’t well cared for before arriving at the shelter, but he was still the sweetest dog - loving everybody. Because of his bad leg, he needed a rescue group to take him in, so the shelter called us. Once he had his leg amputated, he became a whole new dog - loving the freedom of not having to lug around that useless limb. Unfortunately, he has osteoarthritis in his hips. The surgeon thinks his previous injury damaged the blood supply to his hips. He needs to stay thin and active with low impact exercise. Luckily, he loves to get daily exercise! Watching him run around, you wouldn’t guess that he has hip issues. He will be need to on lifelong arthritis treatment. He currently gets monthly injections of Librela and Adequan and a daily joint supplement. No surgery is recommended on his hips at this time. Levi loves going for walks and going jogging. He is leash reactive when other dogs are close, but when they are across the street, he doesn't react and has learned "look" to get a treat and focus on his foster mom. He currently wears a muzzle while out for walks for when a close encounter is unavoidable and he does well with it on. Levi lived with a large dog in his foster home for eight months and was great with him. He would do well being the only pet or living with the right dog with slow introductions. Levi entertains himself with chew toys and stuffed Kongs when he's home alone and does well by himself. Fetch is Levi's favorite game in the backyard and the house and he is good about bringing it back and dropping it. At home care is easy with Levi, as he allows ear cleaning, nail clipping, brushing, teeth brushing, monthly injections and getting a bath with no problems. He loves to cuddle up next to people on the couch and in bed. He has met a lot of strangers of all ages and does very well with everyone. Bikes, skateboards, canes, hats, etc. don't bother him. Levi is potty trained using a dog door. Levi has shown some prey drive tendencies in the backyard, so he probably wouldn't do well in a home with cats. He also shows some barrier reactivity with the neighbor's dog, and is still working on that behavior. If you are looking for a super sweet, smart, resilient dog and are up for continuing his training and arthritis meds, Levi might be the dog for you. He is also a great watch dog. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Levi, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

Kory is a happy and playful boy! He loves everyone he meets and is good with other dogs. He is doing well in his foster home and ready for his forever home. Kory started some leash training and is learning at a good pace. He is crate-trained and doing well on his housetraining. He rides well in the car and can wait patiently while his foster mom runs errands. Kory is a wonderful dog and will make a good family dog. Kory’s Rescue Story Kory was abandoned on the streets. A kind man lives nearby and would often bring him food. However, not everyone was nice to him. Some would beat him and chase him away with sticks. Poor Kory waited at the same spot for him every day. He posted his story on Facebook hoping to find him a home. Unfortunately, after a few months, no one had called for him. He reached out to an international rescue organization for help. The founder of the rescue organization has over 160 dogs waiting for homes. She knew it was urgent to save him and promised to find him a home he very much deserved. Kory had a thorough medical checkup. He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchip, and passed negative on his blood tests. Please give Kory a loving home where he will never be left behind again. NAME: WHOOPA GENDER: FEMALE BREED: FORMOSAN MOUNTAIN DOG MIX COLOR: BLACK AGE: 1 YEAR OLD WEIGHT: 32lbs SPAY OR NEUTER: Yes MICROCHIP: Yes If you would like to give WHOOPA by a forever home, please go to www.adoptadoggie.org to fill out an online application with home photos. Whoopa is a sweet and gentle girl! She is good with people, gentle with children, and good with dogs of all sizes. Whoopa has been through a rough start in life. However, it doesn’t stop her from loving and trusting people. Whoopa has a good temperament and lots of love to give. She is doing well in her foster home and ready for her forever home. Whoopa started some leash training and is learning at a good pace. She is crate-trained and doing well on her housetraining. She rides well in the car and enjoys trips to the doggie park. Whoopa and her sister, Whoopi, are looking for a loving home together. Whoopa’s Rescue Story Whoopa and Whoopi were abandoned on the streets. Some people were nice to them and brought them food. And some would kick them and chase them around. They were rescued by a volunteer of a TNR (Trap / Neuter / Return) rescue group. The rescue has a temporary shelter for the dogs. TNR groups specialize in getting stray animals spayed and neutered and the animals are returned to their original location to live as homeless dogs. TNR programs help with the overpopulation of unwanted animals. The volunteer reached out to an experienced international rescue organization to help with them and some other puppies that are still too young to be released back to the streets. The founder of the rescue organization has over 180 dogs waiting for homes. However, she could not bear to see them going back to the mountain and suffer on the streets. She agreed to take them home and give them a chance in life. They had a thorough medical checkup. They had been spayed, vaccinated, microchip, and passed negative on their blood tests.
