Story
Dolly, spayed female, 3y-5-m-old, 44-lbs If you would like to give DOLLY a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application Dolly has an easy-going temperament, very playful and lively. She loves people and is sociable around other dogs and stays calm when meeting cats. She is potty trained and crate trained to sleep overnight; not a chewer or barker. Dolly is most suitable for an outdoor loving family, and/or as an addition to family with dog. Dolly’s rescue story: Driving home during a stormy night, the rescuer spotted a dark moving object in-between the traffic lanes. When she stopped her car to check it out, she found Dolly moving toward her slowly, wagging her tail. She didn’t seem injured but apparently had difficulty moving. Dolly followed the rescuer to her car and off to the hospital they went. The doctor’s diagnostic was that Dolly simply suffered from starvation. Under the care of her foster family, Dolly regained her hearth and received proper training. But being a dog with black color coat has hardly any chance to be adopted by local people. Hopefully Dolly can start her new life aboard. Around two years old during his puberty, Hachi was once lost, until the rescuer found him as a stray in poor physical condition. Since then, Hachi was neutered and treated for skin problem, followed by foster family’s loving care and training for future adoption. Story
Meet Misty, a wise and wonderful shepherd lab mix who’s nearing her 15th year. Misty embodies the grace and wisdom that only come with age. She’s spent her life being a loyal companion, and now she’s ready to find a quiet, loving home where she can enjoy her golden years. Like many seniors, Misty has faced a few challenges along the way. She’s a bit wary of strangers, especially when she’s not feeling her best. She is also selective about her doggie friends, sometimes feeling protective of her space or getting frustrated when on a leash. But don’t let that fool you—beneath it all, Misty has a heart of gold. Misty is looking for a special someone who understands the quirks that come with being a senior dog. She thrives in a calm, patient environment where she can relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of life—like a cozy bed, gentle ear rubs, and the warmth of a loving home. If you’re ready to open your heart to a senior dog who has so much love left to give, Misty is waiting to meet you. She may have a few extra needs, but she’ll reward you with endless loyalty and affection. Meet Misty, a wise and wonderful shepherd lab mix who’s nearing her 15th year. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, November 16th from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $550   Frodo is an 11 week old Labrador Retriever who has traveled all the way from Rivendell to find his forever home! Frodo was found dumped in a Costco parking lot and saved by kind citizens who held onto him until they found a rescue to take him in. We would never say no to a puppy in need, so we scooped him up and promised to find him a pawsome forever home. Frodo currently weighs around 10 pounds so we expect him to be in the 45-55 pound range as an adult. He’s going to be a Mini Lab, how cute! Frodo has already gone on a grand adventure at such a young age and he can’t wait for his next quest with you!      Frodo is a sweet and affectionate puppy who’s full of love and excitement for the world around him. He is a total velcro dog who is ready to follow you faithfully on any adventure ahead. He’s ready to scamper up mountains, brave rivers, and slide down valleys as long as he can do it by your side. Frodo is always ready to give kisses or snuggle into your arms as well. He has the cutest little sock birthmarks that further add to his cuteness. This super mutt is the most amazing blend of cuteness and spirit all packed in a gangly little body. We promise you’ll grow into your legs, bud! Frodo is super playful and is always ready for a romp around the yard or a game of fetch in the hallway. Frodo also loves chilling a lap as he watches a movie with his people (Lord of the Rings marathon anyone?) and absolutely melts in your arms when you scratch under his chin. Frodo can’t wait to meet you and make you fall madly in love with him. He’s ready to use all the magic puppy spirit he has to make your life together absolutely amazing!  Frodo wakes up with the sun and goes right outside to greet the day. He eats three times a day: 7 AM, 1 PM, and 7 PM. This guy loves his food so he’s always eager for meal times! During the day, Frodo cycles between playing with toys, hanging out with his canine foster sister, napping in his crate, and getting kisses from his foster family. He loves being outside and delights in showing off his zoomies when he gets playtime. In the afternoon when the workday ends, Frodo is held as his foster sister is taken on her daily walk before they return home for dinner. In the evening, he soaks up cuddles and plays some more until he gets sleepy. He goes out for one more potty and then goes into his crate for the night.   Frodo currently lives with a large dog who he happily plays with and showers in kisses every day. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people but once he knows you, he will be yours forever! Frodo is working on his leash skills and potty training skills but his forever family should be prepared to continue his training and socialization to ensure he is a well-behaved adult. Frodo is food motivated so training will be a blast and he’ll be the star of the class in no time! Come meet our intrepid hero and adopt Frodo! Frodo met Pauline the world's greatest cat and he would be an option for a dog savvy cat who just doesn't care about his playful nature.  Frodo is only an option for homes with prior dog experience. Kids should be over the age of 8.November 18, 2024, 6:40 pm
