Oreo currently in a home with a beagle and German Sheperd mix (who we also got from the same shelter as Oreo, and were both on the same euthanasia list). Oreo loves any type of walk (short/long). He is very mellow, humble, well behaved, and listens to commands. He knows how to shake both paws and sits/goes to his crate when told so. Goes potty when told so. He avoids conflict. He is non-reactive towards other dogs when other dogs bark at him. He loves car rides. He loves his crate and likes to be alone or with people. He doesn't get separation anxiety. He is a perfect, healthy dog who needs his furever home.

Story
How this pet arrived:Chrome was brought in as a stray. Here is an update from the foster:Chrome is settling in wonderfully and making great strides in her foster home. She's now comfortable coming and going from the backyard on her own and even heads back inside without prompting-a big step for her confidence! While she still gets easily startled by certain indoor sounds (like the TV or dishwasher) and outdoor noises (like motorcycles or honking), she's adjusting well. Chrome has bonded nicely with her foster's dogs, suggesting she might thrive in a home with another active, playful dog. When left alone, Chrome has adjusted well to free-roaming the house, settling in without signs of nervousness. She's even graduated to having free range at night, sleeping quietly without any issues. Chrome is doing fantastic overall, and her foster believes she would do well with either a single-person adopter or a family with a dog friend to help her keep blossoming! At SDHS:Chrome has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Interested in adopting Chrome? email: escadoptions@sdhumane.org Primary Color: Black Weight: 41 Age: 7yrs 5mths 1wks

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.A young homeless man reached out to me a few weeks ago, sharing his heart-wrenching story of survival and love. He explained that he had been living in his car with a three-month-old puppy, a little lab mix he had picked up from someone at a gas station just a week prior. With no means to care for him or provide him with food—having only one can given by a kind Petco employee—the young man felt the only option was to surrender his furry companion to a shelter. It was a painful decision, aware that this innocent puppy had already faced the uncertainty of displacement and would likely be terrified in a busy shelter filled with the sounds of barking and chaos. My heart went out to both of them, and I knew I needed to step in. I decided to take the puppy under my wing, determined to provide him with the love and stability he so desperately needed. I named him Scooter, and it didn’t take long for me to realize what a gem he was. Despite his young age, Scooter exuded a calmness that was rare for a puppy, and his affectionate nature melted my heart. He thrived around people and was especially gentle with children, making him the perfect candidate for a forever home. His friendly demeanor extended beyond humans; he got along well with other dogs and, surprisingly, even approached cats with a hopeful wag of his tail. Scooter was an energetic spirit who adored car rides and playing with his toys, showcasing his playful yet gentle character that would make him a loyal family member. For those who live in Southern California, specifically in the San Diego County or surrounding areas, I urge you to consider adopting this sweet puppy. Scooter deserves a loving home with a secure yard where he can romp and play freely. With a little training, this charming pup has the potential to become a service pet, providing companionship and support to someone in need. If you feel a connection to Scooter and are ready to welcome him into your life, please complete our adoption application at tlck9rescue.org. Let’s give Scooter the future he deserves—a future filled with love, security, and the warmth of a forever family.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 28, 2024, 2:08 pm

Story
Faith loves everybody and all non-aggressive dogs. She is high energy so needs more activity than I can give her. She is 2 1/2 years old, I got her from the Humane Society the end of February. She loves her people, loves to lick and sit close by. She knows her basic obedience and walks well on leash. Sit, down, come, heel, look, leave it, drop it. The ideal home would either have another dog for her to play with or a person who takes her running or something like that. A tired dog is a good dog and I don't have enough energy to tire her out. As a lab she likes to smell everything and will happily eat anything. I think the eating everything would be eliminated or greatly reduced with sufficient activity. She has eaten non-food items. So far those items have all passed with no issues.

Beautiful young boy (DOB 11/13/23) needs a new home. Going to humane Society unless home found. Lab/pit mix. We have been taking care of him and his brother since they came to us needing a home. We really love them both! We just cant keep them. Our son just finished chemotherapy and radiation treatment for brain cancer. We really need to focus on our family and health right now. We are rehoming him and his litter mate. He is such a sweet boy! Soft mouth, gentle, and very loving. Well behaved for such a young dog. He is vaccinated, dewormed and gets monthly flea prevention. Needs to be nurtured. The vet said it’s best to wait 12-18 months, good for bones and muscles of a growing dog. He is House trained, socialized at dog parks and the beach, knows commands, leash trained, cate trained (sleeps 10 hours, 10 pm to 8 am), happy, healthy boy. Experience with cats and young children. He is about 70 lbs. I can provide leash, nice harness, food, slow feeder bowl, large crate. Toys etc.

Cooper Attention Ladies! Your perfect gentleman awaits... Cooper is the ideal companion for a lovely lady as he is a true gentleman; very polite, easy going and extremely grateful as he is very appreciative when you spend time with him. (Plus he loves to hug and kiss🥰). This handsome 2 year old golden retriever and labrador mix loves women more than anything and can be protective when/if necessary. He travels beautifully in the car, is house broken and crate trained. Cooper has been vetted, neutered and is up-to-date on vaccines and weighs 47 lbs. Since he's such a ladies man, he'd prefer to be in a home of a woman/women. A yard would be great but not imperative as he loves going for walks and playing fetch. If you are a nice gal looking for her perfect guy, look no further! Whoever said nice guys finish last obviously never met Cooper. 😊 Please go to www.k9connectionpetadoption.org and fill out the adoption application for him. We are a 501c3 rescue so a tax deductible adoption fee applies.
