Story
Lab Mix Neutered Male 3 years 65 pounds Pepper is a 3-year-old male Labrador Mix, weighing 65 lbs. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and in good health. Pepper was relinquished to the Humane Society because his family moved. He is house-trained, potty-trained, and familiar with all the standard commands, including sit, lay down, stay, shake, spin, rollover, etc. Eager to please and highly treat-motivated, Pepper is easy to train. He enjoys car rides, remaining quiet and patient during the journey. Pepper is a true cuddle-bug! He loves to rub up against his people and lay his chin in your lap. With his playful and affectionate nature, Pepper is sure to add a pep to your step! He accompanies his foster mom to work and has already built a fan club. Pepper’s ideal home would provide ample time with humans, a calm environment, and space for his energetic zoomies (a yard is sufficient; he doesn’t require a park). While athletic, Pepper is also a great cuddle bug. His ideal family should be dog-savvy, able to interpret his body language, and reassure him with love when he feels scared or uncertain. He may startle at times, so it’s advisable to avoid parties/events with unfamiliar people/kids/animals. Pepper is best suited for a family without young children. In his previous home, Pepper was comfortable staying alone with another dog. Although he has exhibited some separation anxiety in his foster home, it’s improving over time. Given his stable history with a long-term family, we expect this issue to resolve once he feels confident in his permanent home. Pepper was accustomed to visiting off-leash dog parks without issues and lived harmoniously with another large dog. In his foster home, he occasionally displays reactivity to dogs, so proper introductions are essential for potential housemates before adoption. Pepper is ready to be your hiking partner, work companion, road trip buddy, or simply your beloved house pet. He is eager to shower you with love! For more information or if you are interested in adopting please contact his foster parents (Carolina & Trevor) at vicariofox@gmail.com *PLEASE NOTE: This animal is listed as a courtesy for another organization or private party. This pet has not been evaluated medically or behaviorally by Rancho Coastal Humane Society and is not in our care. Please be sure to contact the foster/caretaker listed in the post for more information. Courtesy Listings are private adoptions and not processed through Rancho Coastal Humane Society.

Story
Lab Mix Neutered Male 80 lb 5 years 5 months Gator is the perfect mix of brains, athleticism, and heart! This handsome guy is incredibly smart, mastering commands like sit, stay, shake, go potty, and wait with impressive focus. But what Gator loves most? Playing fetch! He’s a true athlete, bringing the ball back every time, ready for the next throw with excitement. When it’s time to unwind, Gator is the best snuggle buddy you could ask for. Once his collar’s off, he knows it’s time to relax. He’ll lay his head on your chest or lap and snuggle in, happy to stay as long as you want. He’s a lovebug through and through. Gator is a social butterfly but is also ok being an only dog. He loves playing with dogs of all sizes. If you scratch his booty, you’ll get a joyful wiggle in return, and if he’s lounging on the couch or bed, he might even be belly-up, catching a nap without a care in the world. A gentle eater, Gator takes food politely, though he may sneak a nibble if leftovers are left unattended. Gator is protective of his food and should be fed separately from other dogs. He can get a little excited with visitors, barking initially but quickly rolling over to show his belly once they’re friends. Gator’s big heart sometimes leads him to forget his size, so a little caution with small children or the elderly is helpful. Gator cannot wait to bring his big heart into your home! If Gator sounds like he may be the dog for you, please contact Kale at kalewiik@gmail.com to learn more about this wonderful boy! *PLEASE NOTE: This animal is listed as a courtesy for another organization or private party. This pet has not been evaluated medically or behaviorally by Rancho Coastal Humane Society and is not in our care. Please be sure to contact the foster/caretaker listed in the post for more information. Community Spotlight Adoptions are private adoptions and not processed through Rancho Coastal Humane Society.

Story
Hello! I am Morrissey, a joyful and resilient 1 year old 60lb Labrador who’s looking for a loving forever home. I was born with a deformed paw that needed to be amputated at only a few months old so three paws is all I know but it doesn’t slow me down-- I’m a master at playing fetch, tug of war, I love any and all water activities or just staying in and snuggling up on the couch! I am equal parts playful pup and a cozy couch potato. I’m a friendly, affectionate, and incredibly loyal companion. I have a heart as big as my paws and a wagging tail that never seems to stop. I’m always ready for a belly rub and especially enjoy the company of both people and other pets. My goofy antics and gentle nature make me a perfect family member. I have lived in a home with both cats and children of all ages and have done well with all. I would thrive best with a person/family that has a yard and is home more than not.

These pups are in Encinitas, California too!
