Story
Meet Gus, a friendly and energetic dog who is looking for a loving home where he can feel safe and comfortable. Gus can be a bit nervous when meeting new people, so he'll need slow, gentle introductions to help him build trust. Once he feels at ease, his loving and loyal nature shines through, and you'll quickly see what an amazing companion he can be. He can also be a bit anxious in new situations and will thrive with slow introductions to new places.Gus is still learning about leash manners, and while he's making great progress with his harness training with a few gentle reminders. Gus loves to put things in his mouth and tends to eat things that he shouldn't and needs to learn this isn't a good idea. We've started working on muzzle training with him to help him make better decisions about what to eat when out on walks or playing in the yard.Gus would do best in a home with a fenced yard where he can run and explore safely and brush up on some of the skills he hasn't had a chance to learn yet.Gus is a sweet, intelligent dog with so much potential to thrive in the right environment that has the time and consistency to put into him. If you're looking for a dog who will grow into an incredible companion with some patience and love, Gus could be the perfect fit for you! Story
Meet Hibachi!Hibachi has a big personality and endless energy. She loves as hard as she plays! She came into the shelter from dog control after no one came forward to claim her, so unfortunately, we are unable to provide any background information.Hibachi is incredibly smart and has a tendency to become frustrated and stressed when she doesn't have an activity to preoccupy herself with. A high level of mental and physical stimulation will be required to keep this busy girl happy and calm. Daily activities to challenge her are essential! When meeting new people, Hibachi can be a little timid and fearful, but with some patience, slow introductions, lots of treats and the throw of a ball, she'll become your best friend in no time. Although she is great with the command "sit" she will need further training in other areas, such as jumping and mouthing. Once she is out of the shelter environment and is getting the activity she so desperately needs, there is no doubt that these unwanted behaviors will subside. Hibachi is best suited for an active household without small children, that can provide her with the necessary amount of exercise and attention she requires. Her new family should be committed to continuing her training and providing her with structure and consistency. If you're ready for an energetic, affectionate, and intelligent dog, Hibachi is waiting to provide you with all the fun and affection you've been searching for!If you feel you would be a good match for Ms.Bachi, please fill out an application below! Story
Carlos is ready to find his new furever home. We are hoping to find Carlos a foster to adopt home for over the holidays, as he is awaiting a dental surgery, but once he has his surgery and is all healed up, the foster home can make it official in the new year!!Carlos is a fun, loving, energetic guy for his age! He LOVES all toys, he enjoys playing tug, oh and he loves his puzzle toys, but of course he does because food is his number 1 favourite. Carlos does love squishy toys, but he will DESTROY them instantly, so if there are squishy toys, Carlos will need to be supervised. He also really enjoys going for walks with his people, he is usually on his best behaviour, but sometimes when he see's something, he feels he may need to chase it to investigate. This guy is on a strict hypo diet as he suffers from allergies, which causes him to lose some hair. Carlos is also on medication for his allergies, but we are hoping one day that we can get him to a very low dose or stop completely. He can be selective with his doggy friends, it seems he prefers to be more of a ladies man, then to share his space with another boy. Not suited for a home with cats.If you are interested in Carlos, the first step is the application, or call our branch for more details, 250 723 5269. Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Black Weight: 38.3 Age: 7yrs 2mths 2wks

Story
*Courtesy Post* Due to some radical life changes from her owners, 4 year old lab min "Lola" is looking for another home Lola can be shy at first but quick to warm up once you gain her trust (this is true with both humans and other dogs) Lola can be excited on leash at times, and vocal when she wants something or if the crows are teasing her in the back yard. She would do best with someone who works from home or can take her with them when they leave for lengthy periods. She isn't destructive but just lonely, and let's the world around her know. She loves cuddles on the couch and is an affectionate dog full of personality. A fenced backyard where she can run around or someone with an active lifestyle is important as she loves her exercise. Spayed and up to date on all shots. Not a good fit for a house with cats.
