Story
Fran and her siblings are alive because a kind woman would go feed their pregnant mama who was living outside near a riverbank, shortly after being born there, mum and pups were taken to safety into the SPCA PV sanctuary. Now its time for them to find real families to love them. Fran is stunning with her sleek black coat and white toes in a squirmy puppy body. Fran was born with extra toes in her back legs, a condition that is not harmful (in fact some snow breeds were bred with them, so perhaps he was meant for a life in Canada!) Fran is healthy, vaccinated and ready to travel to her new home with flights available to Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and less frequently to Vancouver island. We think Fran will grow to be about 55 lbs. Fran has been exposed to cat and is playful with dogs. If you think you might be his happy ever after or a foster on the road to a better life, message us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com or go direct to our application: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw (check your junk mail in case we get redirected when we respond)

Story
Jill's soulful eyes have a story to tell... Dumped at the shelter with her siblings, Jill is one of 3 girls who survived. Sadly, her brother did not make it. They were all in a bad way from ticks and malnourishment and boy were they happy to be safe! The 3 girls are young and now healthy and ready to move on from the memories and create new ones with their forever families. Jill got to spend some time in a foster home in PV with a temporary resident who said she took to house training in just a couple of days. She is good with people, dogs and enjoys playing with cats. Jill enjoys being cuddled or lap time. Jill does well on leash and has been exposed to the city. Jill is healthy and would love a home of her own! We expect her to grow to 30-35 lbs. Story
Carlos is ready to find his new furever home. Carlos is a fun, loving, energetic guy for his age! He LOVES all toys, he enjoys playing tug, oh and he loves his puzzle toys, but of course he does because food is his number 1 favourite. Carlos does love squishy toys, but he will DESTROY them instantly, so if there are squishy toys, Carlos will need to be supervised. He also really enjoys going for walks with his people, he is usually on his best behaviour, but sometimes when he see's something, he feels he may need to chase it to investigate. This guy is on a strict hypo diet as he suffers from allergies, which causes him to lose some hair. Carlos is also on medication for his allergies, but we are hoping one day that we can get him to a very low dose or stop completely. He can be selective with his doggy friends, we recommend for him to be the only dog in his new home. Not suited for a home with cats.If you are interested in Carlos, the first step is the application, or call our branch for more details. Story
Quick Facts Name: San Aga: 3 years old Gender: Male Neutered: Yes Breed: Labrador Retriever Colour: Beige Weight: 20kg My Story I'm San, your classic Labrador Retriever, and I'm so excited to tell you all about myself! I'm a three-year-old Labrador Retriever boy with a soft beige coat, weighing around 20 kg (about 44 lbs). Right now, I'm a bit on the slim side, but with the right care, I'll fill out to a healthy, sturdy weight. I was rescued from a high-risk shelter and am now on my journey to find a forever home. I'm as friendly as they come and love being around people! Personality I'm an incredibly affectionate and social guy who's ready to make friends with everyone I meet! Whether you're a familiar face or someone new, I'll come right over, lean in for pets, and even show my belly as a warm welcome. I'm comfortable being picked up if needed and will happily snuggle up with you for all the love and attention. My ideal day includes lots of human interaction-I'm happiest when I can be close to my people. My Social Side I'm friendly with other dogs and will approach them politely to say hello, especially those who are around my size or smaller. But I'm much more interested in spending time with people than other dogs. Even if another dog tries to start something, I'll usually walk away-I'm a lover, not a fighter! As for cats, I'm not too interested; on walks, I prefer to stay focused on my human rather than chasing after them. My Energy Level & Walks I have a lot of energy-classic Lab style! I'm always on the move, ready for adventure, and love to play. I'm especially fond of water and will jump right in if given the chance; swimming and splashing are some of my favorite activities. On walks, I do tend to get excited and pull in the direction I want to go, so I'm currently working on my leash manners. With consistent training, I know I'll improve, but for now, my enthusiasm for exploring keeps me on my toes! I'm also flexible with potty habits, comfortable using both indoor pads and going outside. While I'm generally very quiet, I might mark in new places as I explore, just as boys like me do. Last Message I'm a classic, fun-loving Labrador with all the typical Retriever charm. I don't guard my food and am always calm in my kennel. My love for people and my playful spirit makes me a perfect companion for an active family who enjoys outdoor adventures and quality time. Though I can be a bit overexcited during walks, my enthusiasm just means I'm ready to embrace life to the fullest with you by my side. If you're looking for a joyful, friendly, and loyal friend who loves both water and playtime, I could be the perfect fit. I'm ready to find my forever family and share all the love I have to give! Story
Quick Facts! Name: Mamba Age: 2 years old Gender: Female Neutered: Yes Breed: Labrador mix Colour: Black Weight: 22kg All about me Hello guys. I'm Mamba. I am a 2 year old Labrador mix girl, looking for my forever home. I am covered in a sleek black coat, which really makes me stand out. I might seem a bit shy at first but give me some time. Once I get to know you, I will let you pet me and rub my belly. By the way, if you have some treats with you, that will make things little easier because I really like to eat! I have not had many adventures in the outside world and loud noises can be a bit overwhelming for me. But no worries. I am currently getting my training, and I hope it gets better. With time and patience, I will learn to get less sensitive to noises. During walks, I may pull my leash a bit due to excitement, but I am generally responsive to my human's guidance. After a good walk, I settle down nicely on a couch or in my crate. Speaking of which, I am a well-behaved girl even inside my crate. I usually get along with other furry friends whether they are about my size or smaller than me. The heart is what really matters! If I find them to be my friends, I will get along well. If someone tries to challenge me, I will step back and walk away. Although I usually get along with other friends, I get little overwhelmed when they become too energetic. Regarding my potty habits, I use both indoors and outdoors. Whether you live in a high-rise or low-rise, you will not need to worry about it as I have got it all covered. Cats? I do not mind them, but I focus on my humans instead. I do not guard my food against humans and other furry friends. Despite my young age, my energy level is not very high, but I still enjoy my outdoor adventures and activities. Visiting a dog park is also a great idea as I can run freely. I may seem to be a bit shy in the beginning. But once my initial shyness fades away, I am confident that I will be a perfect canine friend who will warm your heart with joy and happiness. For details, please reach out to my team and they will be more than happy to assist you! She's generally friendly but prefers to avoid confrontation, even if another dog tries to provoke her. Loves the Outdoors: She enjoys outdoor activities and has a normal energy level. After a day of fun, she's happy to relax quietly at home. Still Learning: Morning is working on her leash manners. She may pull a bit, but with ongoing training, she's making great progress! No Guarding Issues: Morning is easygoing with her food, showing no guarding behavior towards people or other dogs. Flexible with Potty Needs: Morning is adaptable with her bathroom habits, using both indoor pads and going outside as needed. Why Adopt Morning? Morning is a gentle and sweet pup who's ready to blossom with a loving and patient family. She may need a little time to adjust, but once she does, she'll be a loyal and affectionate companion. Story
'm Becky, a 5-year-old female Labrador Retriever looking for my forever home. I've had a bit of a rough start, being abandoned near a rural chicken coop, but thanks to some kind souls, I've been rescued. I'm a social butterfly with a heart as big as my paws. It doesn't take me long to warm up to new people-I'll be nudging you for pets and belly rubs in no time. I get along great with other dogs, always up for a playdate and ready to make new friends. However, I do have a bit of a protective soul, so if another dog challenges me, I might stand my ground. Just something to keep in mind. I'm well-behaved on walks, although I might need a gentle reminder not to pull too hard on the leash. When it comes to strangers, I'll give a little bark to let you know someone's approaching, but I'm calm and collected in my kennel. I'm an outdoor enthusiast when it comes to bathroom breaks-I prefer the great outdoors for that. And did I mention how smart I am? I've mastered basic commands like sit, paw, and stay. I might not guard my food, but if another dog tries to sneak a nibble, I'll definitely let out a warning growl. So, what do you say? Are you ready for a lifetime of tail wags, paw prints, and unconditional love? If you think we could be the perfect match, come meet me! I can't wait to bring joy and companionship to your home.
