Story
Meet Kip!Kip is a one-year-old lab mix with a heart as big as his goofy grin. He's eager to be a part of whatever you're doing, going on walks, playing with toys, or just settling down for a couch cuddle.Kip is still a puppy, and is learning both his manners and his tricks, and would do best in a home that understands that young dogs need both playtime and structure. He's eager to please and earn his treats.Kip does have some early signs of mild hip dysplasia, as well as carpal hyperextension in his front legs which will require ongoing medication and veterinary care. Despite these challenges, Kip remains happy, playful and loving young dog looking for a home willing and capable of embracing his needs in the future should they ever arise.--Thank you for your interest in adopting! Story
Meet Nube who is looking for a home. Nube is a 4.5 year old mixed breed, full grown at a perfect 45 lbs. We think she may be a lab cross, with a gorgeous white coat, and beautiful markings to round out her unique look. She shares space with other dogs and enjoys playtime in the yard with them. Nube is friendly and affectionate with shelter visitors with a lovely disposition. She is medium energy - with enough energy to keep up, but would also be grateful for some chill time to make up for missed cuddles. Mostly she would love her very own family. Nube hasn't been tested extensively with cats. She sees them without reacting, but for now, we will seek a home without cats to be sure. While Nube is lovely with people, she's not been specifically tested with kids. Nube is spayed and vaccinated. She is missing some of her front teeth - likely a result of escaping shackles or surviving on street scraps. If you think you might be a fit for this beauty, as her chance at a forever home, or as a foster along the way, she'd love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com

Story
Patricio is the absolute perfect love bug. He has a sweet gentle disposition – he is lovely with everyone he meets. He has a joyful spring in his step when he sees people, and he also happily finds joy in any toy that might come his way, finding his own happiness in the little things. He likes to gather shelter toys and put them near his bed, revelling in the joy of having anything good come his way. Patricio is about 4 years old. He is good with dogs and cats, and walks nicely on leash (including past cows, chickens, bikes and trucks). Patricio is a lovely and compact 38 lbs. His quiet happiness also means he’s not much of a barker – rather he watches the world happily waiting for his next chance at affection. He likes to crawl into your soul for cuddles. Patricio is a distemper survivor who has a slight tic in his jaw as a result. This brave boy not only survived distemper, but hasn’t let that impact his happiness. Whoever gets this little man is very lucky. Patricio is medium energy – happy to accompany you whenever and wherever. Check him out here: https://www.instagram.com/pvcaanimalrescue/reel/DRTWFowkZ0P/ If you think you might be his chance at a family, or foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Story
8 year old Yesenia is a lab x boxer looking for a home. Yesenia was surviving when kind strangers might feed her, but had to be a strong resilient girl. They suspect she may have been used for breeding and was subjected to having her tail docked. When they no longer wanted her they just left her to fend for herself. Yesenia reads people well and likes to be comforted by them. Yesenia prefers male dogs and isn’t a fan of cats. She is spayed and vaccinated, weighing a perfect 45 lbs. If you think you might be Yesenia’s second chance as either an adopter or foster, she’d love to hear from you by emailing us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com or going direct to our application: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw (please check your junk mail in case we get redirected)

Story
QUEENIE Age: 3 years Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Labrador Retriever Color: Black Weight: 28 kg Height: 58 cm (at the shoulder)   Rescue Story   Queenie was rescued from a municipal shelter in October 2024, just before euthanasia. She has been living in a private shelter for about a year and is now ready to finally experience life in a real home.   With People   Queenie is extremely affectionate and loves everyone she meets — both familiar faces and complete strangers. She happily rubs against people, seeks out touch, and enjoys being petted.   She is friendly with both women and men and does very well with children under 13. Once she feels comfortable, she will roll over and show her belly for rubs.   She can be picked up and handled with ease.   With Other Dogs   Queenie is a true social butterfly. She happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to greet them and invite them to play.   She is gentle, friendly, and always wags her tail, even if another dog is rude or pushy. She tends to prefer dogs her size or smaller and avoids conflict.   With Cats   On walks, she may try to follow cats out of curiosity, but she responds well to redirection. Cat testing can be arranged.   Energy Level & Home Life   Queenie has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities and walks, but once she’s had exercise, she settles down nicely and relaxes indoors.   Walks & Training   At first, Queenie may pull on leash because she is excited to explore. With training and guidance, she learns to walk nicely and stay connected with her handler.   Because she is strong, she would do best with someone who has experience handling medium-to-large dogs.   She is currently an outdoor-potty dog.   Behavior & Manners   No food or toy guarding Rarely barks Calm in her kennel Gentle and friendly nature   She may bark briefly if she is left alone while other dogs are outside, simply because she wants to join them.   Ideal Home   Queenie would thrive in an active, loving home where she can enjoy companionship, walks, and plenty of affection — whether as an only dog or with other friendly dogs.   She is a wonderful family dog who brings joy, warmth, and love wherever she goes.
