Story
Meet Gus, a friendly and energetic dog who is looking for a loving home where he can feel safe and comfortable. Gus can be a bit nervous when meeting new people, so he'll need slow, gentle introductions to help him build trust. Once he feels at ease, his loving and loyal nature shines through, and you'll quickly see what an amazing companion he can be. He can also be a bit anxious in new situations and will thrive with slow introductions to new places.Gus is still learning about leash manners, and while he's making great progress with his harness training with a few gentle reminders. Gus loves to put things in his mouth and tends to eat things that he shouldn't and needs to learn this isn't a good idea. We've started working on muzzle training with him to help him make better decisions about what to eat when out on walks or playing in the yard.Gus would do best in a home with a fenced yard where he can run and explore safely and brush up on some of the skills he hasn't had a chance to learn yet.Gus is a sweet, intelligent dog with so much potential to thrive in the right environment that has the time and consistency to put into him. If you're looking for a dog who will grow into an incredible companion with some patience and love, Gus could be the perfect fit for you! Story
Quick Facts  Name: Jegook Age: 2 years old  Gender: Male Spayed/Neutered: Yes Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix Colour: Black Weight:  26kg   My Story Hi there! My name is Jegook! I’m a 1.5-year-old Jindo-Labrador mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for life! My sleek black coat makes me look sharp, but don’t let that fool you—I’m just a goofy, lovable boy who’s always ready to make new friends. I weigh about 26 kg (57 lbs), so I’m a sturdy guy, but it just means there’s more of me to love! I’ve had a bit of a bumpy start to life. I was born in a factory where I spent my early months, but when my owner decided they couldn’t keep me, I was sent to a new home—only to find out I was being sold to a dog farm. Thankfully, a kind factory worker who adored me stepped in to rescue me just in time. Despite my challenging beginnings, I’ve never lost my happy spirit or my love for people.   Personality I’m a friendly, outgoing pup who loves meeting new people. I’ll come right up to say hello, and I’m not shy about leaning in for cuddles. Once I feel comfortable, you’ll see me rolling over for belly rubs—my favorite thing! While I can be playful and energetic, I also have a calm, gentle side, especially after a good round of exercise. I’ve got a bit of that classic Labrador charm combined with the thoughtful nature of a Jindo.   My Social Side I’m great with other dogs, big or small! I’ll run up to introduce myself and ask if they want to play. If a dog isn’t in the mood to hang out, I’m okay with walking away and doing my own thing. I’m still learning to manage my excitement during playtime with high-energy friends, but I listen to my human when they guide me. Cats, on the other hand, are a mystery to me—I haven’t spent much time around them yet.   My Energy Level & Walks   I have a high energy level and love outdoor activities! Running, playing, and exploring are my favorite ways to spend the day. That said, after some exercise, I’m happy to settle down and relax by your side. I walk pretty well on a leash, though I sometimes get distracted by exciting smells and stop to sniff along the way. With consistent guidance, I’ll keep improving.   Why You’ll Love Me I’m a goofy, loving, and loyal companion who’s ready to bring joy and laughter to your life. I adore people, and my friendly nature makes me a wonderful family dog. I might need a bit of help with house training and learning new routines, but I’m eager to learn and love to please. Plus, I’m already kennel trained and a big fan of water—whether it’s a swim in a lake or a splashy bath! If you’re looking for a dog with a big heart, lots of energy, and endless love to give, I might just be your perfect match. Let’s start this adventure together!    Videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTkGqqk5kO0&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JyRD_lK5TU5u6LYEQianikv ##2253594##

Story
Tangyi is a calm and gentle soul who gets along wonderfully in group settings with other dogs. Even when other dogs act provocatively, Tangyi avoids conflict and displays submissive behavior, showcasing her mild and peaceful temperament. While she may initially feel timid around strangers who approach her suddenly, she quickly warms up and reveals her affectionate and well-mannered nature once she gets to know them. Tangyi’s slightly reserved personality is balanced by her strong attachment to her owner. This bond can sometimes lead to signs of separation anxiety, so she would thrive in a home where her family can provide her with the love and attention she needs. She shows no particular interest in cats and does not chase them, making her a great fit for households with feline friends. On walks, Tangyi has excellent leash manners and enjoys exploring the world at a relaxed pace. She is also comfortable riding in vehicles, which makes traveling with her a breeze. Given her shy nature, Tangyi will need some time and patience to adjust to a new home and family. During this period, allowing her to settle in and feel secure will help her blossom into the perfect companion. Although Tangyi is currently doing well with walks in her foster home, she may feel startled in unfamiliar environments. For her safety, we recommend using a double leash during walks until she feels more confident. Tangyi is likely to adapt well to a multi-dog household. In fact, having a dog sibling could help ease her separation anxiety. Her calm and well-mannered personality makes her an ideal addition to a harmonious family with other pets. Tangyi is ready to bring love and serenity to a new home. We’re so excited to see her thrive in her forever family! Story
Young Rudy, born Feb 2024 was found one morning as a very young puppy buried in dirt near the shelter. He was taken into the SPCA PV sanctuary, and they learned that he was buried to soothe burns on his back where his hair is now discoloured. He currently weighs approximately 40 lbs, we think he’ll grow to be about 50 lbs. He was lucky that one of our sweet mamma pups Keisha took him under her wing to give him the love he should still get as a young pup. He’s a playful boy that would love a yard and adventures, and maybe even a welcoming dog friend. He has been good with cats (though exposure is limited). Rudy is healthy and ready to fly. He is currently at the SPCA PV sanctuary in Mexico, and will be able to fly to Vancouver, Calgary or Edmonton (possibly also Vancouver island). If you think you might be the lucky home for him, write us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com and tell us a little about yourself, or go direct to our application: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw

Story
Meet Loki! This active guy would love to find a home that has lots of time for exercise and adventures. Loki is used to exploring and running around most of the day. He was not often walked on a leash and is learning leash manners here in the branch that his new guardian will need to continue working on. He would prefer a home with a nice big yard space or fenced property to have free reign of.Loki LOVES to run and play in the yard, and is particularly fond of soccer balls. We would love to see Loki enjoy a new home with an adopter who has some time to work with him on his separation anxiety. He came into shelter with another dog, and will have a hard time being apart from him. Loki can be nervous of new people and dogs, and will need slow introductions to get him acquainted with someone. He can be very hyper and chatty, so an apartment style living wouldn't be ideal for him.If you are an adventure aficionado interested in meeting Loki, you can come into the West Vancouver Branch Tuesday to Sunday between 12pm and 3pm to chat with the staff and meet Loki!
