Story
Meet Leo!Leo can be initially reserved but warms up quickly to his human friends. He is a playful pup who loves gentle scratches and is learning to embrace the great outdoors! Once he's outside, he enjoys zooming around and loves playing with and chewing his toys. Leo is looking for a patient family that can help him gain confidence with exploring places aside from his home. Since he is a bit unsure of the leash, he will need some training to help him learn that walking on a leash is a fun activity. After recovering from an eye injury from his previous home, Leo is now looking for a relaxing place to call his own. He would thrive as the only dog in the home but might be able to make friends with other patient and friendly canines outside. Leo would do best in a home with older or dog-savvy children who understand his need for time to warm up and build confidence. If you're seeking a sweet companion who's ready to bring joy to your life, Leo might be the perfect match! 🦁Do you think you could be Leo's person? Here are some ways to find out:1.) Visit our centre to meet this pet during adoption viewings Friday to Wednesday noon to 3pm, learn more about their ideal match, and apply to adopt in person; or2.) Submit an online application at adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions, an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hours. Story
Meet Darryl, a charming and affectionate dog who loves to kick back and enjoy some quality scratches! Darryl's happy to lounge around and soak up the love, but he's also got a spirited side-he enjoys his walks and handles the leash like a pro! Darryl could be a great fit in a home with other dogs, provided introductions are slow and steady. While he's a big fan of food, we're noticing he might have some sensitivities, so his future family may need to explore food options that keep him feeling his best. Darryl is ready to share his sweet, laid-back vibes with a family who can give him a loving and balanced home!Do you think you could be Darryl's person? Here are some ways to find out:1.) Visit our centre to meet this pet during adoption viewings Friday to Wednesday noon to 3pm, learn more about their ideal match, and apply to adopt in person; or2.) Story
I'm Becky, a 5-year-old female Labrador Retriever looking for my forever home. I've had a bit of a rough start, being abandoned near a rural chicken coop, but thanks to some kind souls, I've been rescued. I'm a social butterfly with a heart as big as my paws. It doesn't take me long to warm up to new people—I'll be nudging you for pets and belly rubs in no time. I get along great with other dogs, always up for a playdate and ready to make new friends. However, I do have a bit of a protective soul, so if another dog challenges me, I might stand my ground. Just something to keep in mind. I'm well-behaved on walks, although I might need a gentle reminder not to pull too hard on the leash. When it comes to strangers, I'll give a little bark to let you know someone's approaching, but I'm calm and collected in my kennel. I'm an outdoor enthusiast when it comes to bathroom breaks—I prefer the great outdoors for that. And did I mention how smart I am? I've mastered basic commands like sit, paw, and stay. I might not guard my food, but if another dog tries to sneak a nibble, I'll definitely let out a warning growl. So, what do you say? Are you ready for a lifetime of tail wags, paw prints, and unconditional love? If you think we could be the perfect match, come meet me! I can't wait to bring joy and companionship to your home. Story
🌞 Meet Morning! 🌞 Age:8 months Breed:Lab Retriever Mix Color: Tan Weight: 9 kg Status: Spayed Female Rescue Story: Morning was saved just in time from a kill shelter, and now she’s ready to find a forever home where she can thrive and bring joy to her new family. Personality Overview: - Shy but Sweet: Morning may be a bit timid when you first meet her, but with a little patience (and maybe a tasty snack), she’ll quickly warm up to you. Once she’s comfortable, she loves to show her belly for rubs! 🥰 - Dog-Friendly: Morning is great at greeting other dogs, particularly those of a similar size or smaller. She’s generally friendly but prefers to avoid confrontation, even if another dog tries to provoke her. 🐕 - Focuses on Her Person: During walks, Morning is more interested in sticking close to her person than chasing after cats. 🐾 - Loves the Outdoors: She enjoys outdoor activities and has a normal energy level. After a day of fun, she’s happy to relax quietly at home. 😌 - Still Learning: Morning is working on her leash manners. She may pull a bit, but with ongoing training, she’s making great progress! 🚶‍♂️ - No Guarding Issues: Morning is easygoing with her food, showing no guarding behavior towards people or other dogs. 🥣 - Car Ride Caution: Morning is a bit fearful of getting into the car and might need a little help lifting in, but once she’s settled, she’s ready for the journey. 🚗 - Flexible with Potty Needs: Morning is adaptable with her bathroom habits, using both indoor pads and going outside as needed. 🚽 Why Adopt Morning? Morning is a gentle and sweet pup who’s ready to blossom with a loving and patient family. She may need a little time to adjust, but once she does, she’ll be a loyal and affectionate companion. If you’re looking for a dog who will brighten your days, Morning is the perfect match! 🌅 Ready to welcome Morning into your home? Let’s make every day a new adventure together! 🏡💕 Morning is excited to meet you and become part of your family! 🐶💖 For more videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jx603tR4UwFnZNvT86p4bp-

Story
🐶 Quick Facts! • Name: Mamba • Age: 2 years old • Gender: Female • Neutered: Yes • Breed: Labrador mix • Colour: Black • Weight: 22kg 🌱All about me🐕 Hello guys. I’m Mamba. I am a 2 year old Labrador mix girl, looking for my forever home. I am covered in a sleek black coat, which really makes me stand out. I might seem a bit shy at first but give me some time. Once I get to know you, I will let you pet me and rub my belly. By the way, if you have some treats with you, that will make things little easier because I really like to eat! I have not had many adventures in the outside world and loud noises can be a bit overwhelming for me. But no worries. I am currently getting my training, and I hope it gets better. With time and patience, I will learn to get less sensitive to noises. During walks, I may pull my leash a bit due to excitement, but I am generally responsive to my human’s guidance. After a good walk, I settle down nicely on a couch or in my crate. Speaking of which, I am a well-behaved girl even inside my crate. I usually get along with other furry friends whether they are about my size or smaller than me. The heart is what really matters! If I find them to be my friends, I will get along well. If someone tries to challenge me, I will step back and walk away. Although I usually get along with other friends, I get little overwhelmed when they become too energetic. Regarding my potty habits, I use both indoors and outdoors. Whether you live in a high-rise or low-rise, you will not need to worry about it as I have got it all covered. Cats? I do not mind them, but I focus on my humans instead. I do not guard my food against humans and other furry friends. Despite my young age, my energy level is not very high, but I still enjoy my outdoor adventures and activities. Visiting a dog park is also a great idea as I can run freely. I may seem to be a bit shy in the beginning. But once my initial shyness fades away, I am confident that I will be a perfect canine friend who will warm your heart with joy and happiness. For details, please reach out to my team and they will be more than happy to assist you! 💛 For more videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aa4UUrmvSDs&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JwHBnPF_KsehZgU-TysGeyW
