Thank you for your interest in adopting a cat or dog. Saturday and Sunday we are open for walk-in visitors from 11 to 2:30. NO Appointment needed on Saturday and Sunday. We are open for adoption by appointment only Wed thru Friday. Please copy this link to schedule your appointment for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. https://foothillsanimalrescue.as.me/schedule/e47d5799Honey is the ultimate snuggle buddy and fetch enthusiast who’s ready to fill your life with love, energy, and fun! This high-energy girl wants nothing more than to play fetch, go on long walks, and cuddle up with her favorite humans. She’s a true people-lover and will happily curl up next to you for some quality snuggle time in bed. Honey’s journey has been an inspiring one. After struggling with leash reactivity, she spent 3 weeks in a training facility where she made incredible progress. She can now walk comfortably on a leash and is at ease around other dogs. While she’s come so far, continuing her training with an e-collar and gentle leader will ensure she stays on the path to success and can thrive for years to come. Honey is looking for a loving home with someone who can keep up with her playful, energetic spirit, as well as continuing her training journey. She’d love a family that enjoys outdoor adventures, walks, and lots of playtime. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion to bring joy to your life, Honey is the girl for you. She can’t wait to show you all the new tricks she’s learned! If you have a dog at home and would like to meet Honey, please bring them with you so we can make sure they will be best friends! If you’re ready to give Honey the loving home she deserves, she’s ready to meet you!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Goose and Maverick were found eating out of a trash can in a remote area of northern AZ. These boys were shy and friendly, clearly not used to much human interaction but very much craving it. From the moment we welcomed them into the Paw Placement family, they were nothing but sweet and loving. They were also unfamiliar with the world and many things our own pet dogs find normal - such as a leash, tile floors, cozy blankets, nutritious food. But these boys quickly learned what the good life looks like, and they are blossoming in their foster homes. Goose is loving and affectionate, smart and eager to please, playful and energetic. He adores his doggy foster siblings, and we'd be hard pressed to find a home without another dog that we'd be willing to place him in. For the first 5 months of his life, Goose knew nothing but life with his brother Maverick and, while it would be unhealthy to keep the brothers together (google Sibling Syndrome if you're not sure why), it would be best to place both boys in a home with another dog as they rely so heavily on other dogs for comfort and security. Goose is house and crate trained in his foster home. Though their breed is a mystery, they look like they might have some retriever, some chow chow, along with a mix of likely many other breeds. Their coats are similar to retriever coats, smoother and shorter than you'd expect from a chow. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application. We will only be able to email those applicants that are approved to schedule a meet and greet. Thank you in advance for your understanding if you don't hear back from us regarding your application.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 6:22 pm

Story
Charlie is a yellow Labrador Retriever, 2 years old and 61 pounds full grown. He is a all around very good boy. Charlie is affectionate, soft loving and a goofy fun boy. Charlie has a big, beautiful personality that you can’t help but fall in love with. This happy boy loves everybody and all dogs are his friends. He’s very sociable. Charlie is in a foster home with several dogs of all sizes and he loves them all. He especially loves his foster dad and bonded quickly. Charlie was brought into Luv of Dogz Rescue after being found wondering the streets in the heat as a stray dog. He’s so thankful and shows it by his love and loyalty. Charlie walks great on a leash and loves going for walks when its cool enough. He also likes outdoor backyard playtime. His new family will need a house with a secure yard for him to run off energy and play in. Chalie can be in a home as an only dog but will need attention and time for fetch and toys. Charlie likes his crate and is crate trained. Charlie has been let down by humans when he was lost and scared roaming the streets. He will need a family that will value him, keep him safe and make him a part of the family. He will need a lifetime commitment to him through all life’s changes. Everybody needs a best friend Charlie in their life! Luvofdogzfund.org/adopt/application

Story
Stormi Sky is a Labrador Retriever and has some Dobie in her mix of 31 flavors. She is 11 months old and weighs 60 pounds. She is full grown and may just fill out some. Stormi has very tall legs. She is lean, sleek and slender. Her shiny charcoal black coat is easy to maintain. Stormi’s is gorgeous and very photogenic. Stormi is a happy, sweet and friendly girl. She loves everybody and just fits in. Her foster home has four other dogs and she likes having her people and other dogs around. She does do the Doberman “nose nudge” to people and dogs. Stormi walks great on a leash and loves her walks around the neighborhood. She also will jump right in the car and ready to go travel. She is happy to go wherever you are going. She loves her people and wants to be with you. Stormi is potty trained and can use a dog door. She also is crate trained and sleeps in her crate with a fluffy bed and soft blankets right beside my bed. She also likes to nap in her crate for short periods. Stormi loves her food and a great eater. Stormi is a BIG puppy even though she is about one year old. She does have puppy tendencies. She will need a lot of attention and playtime. She will need an active family who will involve her in all the family fun and make her a family member. Stormi’s new family will need a house with a yard for her to run and play and get out energy (no apartments) The yard will need to have a secure block wall to keep her safe and have either grass or turf. She would love to have a compatible, playful dog to play with or she would love to get all the attention and be taken for hikes, walks, and runs. She would be a great buddy and companion for someone who needs a best friend and can keep her socialized and busy. Non playful dogs would not be compatible with Stormi’s size and playing style. Stormi is not a fan of cats, so no cats in her new home. Stormi goes to day camp twice a week to get in extra playtime. She has a lot of doggie friends at day camp. She is a social butterfly. Stormi will need to have continued training as she matures. Stormi does love kids but due to her large size and being a puppy, mature children age 8 and up in the home is best. She could accidently knock toddlers and little ones down when excited. Stormi comes into your life and you have a small pony following you everywhere. When you meet her, you are instantly in love with this big and beautiful baby girl. Stormi Sky is ready to find her perfect family and be your shining star.

Story
Livvy joined our rescue after finding herself on the euthanasia list at our county shelter. She was a senior mama girl with medical issues caused from over-breeding. Livvy was unable to urinate on her own and her abdomen was swollen. We rushed her to the hospital, concerned about infection or masses. After radiology reviewed the scans, they thankfully did NOT find any masses. They did discover that she does have Valley Fever* and was suffering from a significant bladder infection. Fast forward to a few months later, living the life in an amazing, loving foster home, our Livvy is feeling young again! Don’t let her age fool you... this girl has got spunk and a total zest for life! She enjoys walks, spending time with her humans, car rides, outdoor patio restaurants and calm, four-legged friends. She loves to spend time sunbathing and enjoying the weather in her own yard. Livvy will greet you with a full-on wiggly body and tail and immediately plop herself on the floor for belly rubs...if she doesn’t end up in your lap first! This beautiful girl EXUDES happiness and joy. She is sweet, loving, potty-trained and easy like a Sunday morning. She can go to a home with other dogs and children. Livvy’s adoption fee includes her completed veterinary exams, bloodwork, spay, vaccinations and microchip. To meet our precious girl, apply here:https://lovethemallrescue.org/livvy We promise she'll have your heart melted in no time! *Valley Fever is a non-contagious fungal disease caused from mold spores in the dirt, and it is sadly all too common here in Arizona. It is treatable with daily medication and supportive care.

Longtimer Roy Boy deserves a home! Roy has been with the rescue.since he was 6 months old! We can't understand why because he's a cool ball obssessed dude! He will play all day long! Roy is on the shy side & takes some time to warm up to people. He will need someone who understands this & allows him to go at his own pace. A home with other dogs for him to play with would be great! He tends be a alpha so more submissive dogs are best!

Story
Tessa was brought into the county shelter as a frightened stray who had trouble walking on her hind limbs and was suffering from an upper respiratory infection. After x-rays were taken, it was determined that she has a severe spinal deformity. With her sweet face, we knew we needed to save her from euthanasia and get her into our care for further diagnostics. Thankfully, with the love and care of her foster family paired with excellent veterinary care, Tessa has fully recovered from her upper respiratory treatment. Tessa is crate- and house-trained, has lovely leash manners and sleeps through the night. She also does so well when left unattended at home. She is learning basic obedience, though considering how incredibly food-motivated she is, she's more than happy to do just about anything for a treat! Tessa absolutely LOVES to wrestle and run around with her foster fur-siblings. She loves all things fluffy (like herself), whether that’s napping in a cozy dog bed or squeaking her favorite stuffy. She is a playful, loving, silly girl just waiting for a family to call her own! Her dream home would include a doggy friend and have no stairs but plenty of yard to play in. Tessa’s adoption fee includes completed veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchip and spay. Apply now to let this golden girl light up your life with her brilliant smile, goofy personality and joy de vivre! Story
Nash has been looking for a home for 385 DAYS!!! Nash was found wandering on a busy street in our neighborhood, a good samaritan picked him up and surrendered him to us. After posting him, no owners came forward, so he's now a Handover Rover dog! He has classic Golden Retriever energy, and is always in a great mood, walking around with his leash in his mouth ready to go on an adventure! Active, Sweet, and friendly to everyone! He does fantastic with dogs but is very playful. he may not be a good fit for an older dog not interested in romping around with him. No cats. Now, we're working on his leash manners and some dog leash reactivity. He's a very quick and soft learner, but we will be looking for someone willing to keep up his training after adoption and be comfortable implementing boundaries and structure. Prior to our Trial adoption, we will need to a few training sessions with his prospective new owner to ensure a good fit. If you're interested in adopting or learning more about Nashville, fill out an application here: https://www.handoverrover.org/adoptionapplication
