Story
Dexter is a 2 year old pitbull and Labrador mix that is currently 55lbs. He's pretty calm inside the house and chooses to just lay on the couch, or with you, more often than not. He loves attention and wants nothing more than to be by your side when you're relaxing. Once he is off leash in the back yard he loves to run around and play with the other dogs. He does need to be walked on a halti (which will be included in the adoption. Also included is a leash and slow feeder bowl.) The reason we're rehoming Dexter is that he isn't good with our cats and would do best in a dog only home. He's not aggressive with the cats or other dogs in any way but he does like to chase the cats and it causes the cats to avoid being around the other dogs and the family and spend most of their time hiding from him. He doesn't chase the cats to be mean he just gets excited and wants to play with them and has never hurt them at all. Dexter is fully house broken and crate trained as well and is a sweet dog.

Story
Hey there! My name is Brutus, and I’m on a quest to find my forever home. Let me tell you a bit about my journey and why I think we could be the perfect match. I found myself in a pretty scary place called the pound. It was loud, and I didn’t know why I was there. But I stayed brave, hoping for a better day. The people there were really nice and they said “We know somebody, we’ll let them know you are here and how special you are”. The kind folks at Central Arizona Animal Rescue saw my potential as well and whisked me away to safety. Now, I’m ready to find a cozy spot in your heart and home. I’m about 4 or 5 years old, which means I’ve outgrown all those wild puppy antics. Instead, I prefer the simple pleasures in life. Imagine us lounging on the couch together, sharing snacks, and watching your favorite shows. I’m a big fan of casual walks where we can take our time and smell all the flowers. I’m not much of a barker, so you won’t have to worry about any noisy disruptions. What I do love, though, are ear scratches and butt rubs. Seriously, they’re the best! I’m also up for a good adventure now and then, so if you like exploring, I’m your guy. The wonderful people here made sure I’m all set for my new life. I’ve been neutered, I’m up-to-date on my vaccinations, and I’ve even got a microchip so I won’t get lost again. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will enjoy just being with you, look no further. I’m Brutus, and I’m ready to be your new best friend. Come meet me at Central Arizona Animal Rescue. To set up an appointment to meet me just e-mail mike@caaronline.org.  Let’s start our adventure together! Story
Hannah has been the most lovable mom and created such beautiful babies, but her puppies have left the nest, and it’s time for her to be back in the spotlight! She’s estimated to be about 4 years old, possibly a lab staffy mix, and she is known for being a complete Velcro dog? What does this mean? She is looking for a home where she will be cherished and invited and included in just about every conversation. She loves to stare into your eyes, as if she’s testing to see if you love her. She’s the kind of dog who is loyal and loves with her whole heart, and will do anything to make her people happy. She wags her tail the second she thinks you’re talking about or to her, and is evidently overjoyed once she is invited to come sit with you. A couple things to note: Hannah has not been around any small children. She met several kids around 7 or older and did great! But, she does startle with younger kids, so may be best suited for a home that is past the toddler stage. Hannah was briefly introduced to a cat from a distance, and her curiosity was intense enough that we would not place her in a home with a cat, even though she may have just been wanting to meet the kitty. We didn’t take our chances. Now the tough one… Hannah has only just been assessed with dogs, and she was non reactive on a least in the vicinity. But, once a dog got a little closer to her “bubble” she was evidently not comfortable. For this reason, as we continue to work with her, we would only be comfortable with dogs her size or bigger in a home that is able to quarantine and do very slow introductions. She very well may do great and would LOVE to have someone to play with, but we can tell she will need time to let her guard down. She was found as a stray, pregnant and ready to pop, so no doubt she is a little cautious and protective, just not knowing what she has been through. We know she had a home at one time because she knows sit and how to fetch, and loves her humans. She is now ready to find someone who will cherish her quirky little perked up ears, her tendency to lounge like a lazy fool, and her sweet asks for affection and attention. Are you looking for a sweetheart to love and love you back fiercely? Hannah’s your girl! https://forms.gle/676xUcmeQi9kdjn96

Story
🐾 Adopt Shaboozey 🐾 Born on June 29, 2024, Shaboozey is a very sweet lab/heeler mix, but still timid boy. He is starting to get more a little more outgoing every day. In the beginning, he was nervous to be held and loved on, but he has learned that he does enjoy some snuggle time. Shaboozey has been doing pretty well in a crate and does well overnight. Not potty trained yet. He has done very well with other dogs, which I think also helped him come out of his shell more. Loves playing with the other dogs, but also good at entertaining himself playing with his toys. 📝 Apply here to meet me: https://forms.gle/676xUcmeQi9kdjn96 #lcdrshaboozey
