Angelique found herself on the county’s euthanasia list when she arrived at the shelter with a large, open wound on one of her rear legs. Being in a loud, scary environment and in so much pain, she was fearful and shut down. We knew her story couldn’t end there. All she needed was proper medical attention and time to decompress. We pulled her from the shelter and took her straight to the hospital for wound care. While her leg took weeks of dressings and bandage changes, it was only a few days after leaving the shelter that our sweet girl came out of her shell and showed us just how much love she has to give. While a little shy at first, Angelique warms up quickly to new people, especially if she has a doggy friend or two to help her feel more confident, or, of course, if you tempt her with a treat! Angelique loves to watch TV by your side or play outside with toys and other dogs. Her fosters call her “perfect,” which is easy to believe because she is crate-trained, house-trained, walks well on her leash and knows basic obedience commands already! Officially ready to find her forever home, we only ask that her new family give her grace and time to decompress so she can learn her new routine in her new home. She would love a playful doggy sibling and prefers older children! Story

Lorelai came into the county shelter as a stray with significant lameness and stiffness. Unfortunately, she was put on the euthanasia list due to the severity of her condition. We stepped in to save her because we didn't want her story to end there. This beautiful girl deserved a chance! It was no wonder that Lorelai was in pain and didn’t feel like herself: she was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection, tick fever and Valley Fever. Since getting the much-needed treatments, we have seen her beautiful spirit and sweet personality shine more and more. Lorelai is slower to warm up to new people, but if you're patient, you will surely be rewarded. Once she opens up to you, she will truly love you forever. Lorelai adores her daily walks in the neighborhood but in general is a quiet old soul who loves to lounge and snuggle with her people. She has amazing leash manners, does well left alone in the house, enjoys car rides and is working on basic commands. SWEET. GENTLE. CALM. Fredrick is an incredibly sweet, loving boy who adores his humans, curling up in a big fluffy bed and napping his day away. Ever since we saved him from the county’s euthanasia list this summer, he has melted so many hearts and touched so many lives already. Fredrick was going to be euthanized because of stiffness in his limbs and potential neurological issues seen on intake at the shelter. Once we were able to have him properly examined, veterinary professionals determined he had impaired vision and was suffering from chronic ear infections. His ears have since cleared, and despite limited eyesight, he has been navigating his foster home perfectly! Fredrick does well with children of all ages and can coexist with other dogs. He enjoys neighborhood strolls, is house-trained and does well being left home alone. If you’re looking for a companion who doesn’t need too much play and is content being curled up at your feet, Fredrick is your boy! He might bring you his favorite stuffy for a few rounds of fetch but will promptly tuck himself in for a nice, long nap afterward. Bisbee is a 2-year-old Labrador mix with a heart as big as his paws. Life hasn’t been easy for this sweet boy—found on the streets as a puppy, he endured hardship early on. Bisbee was previously adopted but unfortunately, his family couldn’t provide the stability he needed, and with changing dynamics in their family, Bisbee was returned to us, leaving us heartbroken for him. But sometimes, life gives second chances—and Bisbee is making the most of his. Now being professionally trained and enrolled in a Board and Train program with Triumph Dog Training, he is absolutely thriving! His progress has been incredible; his anxiety has eased, his previous training is coming back to him, and he’s showing us just how brilliant and adaptable he can be.
