Story
CJ is about a year old. Very sweet but she is energetic, so people who are active or outdoorsy would be great. When it comes to kids, older kids would be better especially since she's the type to roughhouse. She's been potty trained, and she response to basic commands such as sit, stay, come, and crate. She is a chewer though, and she jumps. Both are things we've been working on.

Story
Brutus is an 1-year-old male Black Lab who must be neutered before adoption.  This incredibly beautiful guy was brought in after being found in a city neighborhood.  We were shocked no owner came looking for him.  Brutus is a picture of health with his gorgeous shiny black coat.  Just look at those gorgeous copper colored eyes!  Brutus weighs 55 pounds so he is a large dog.  He would be good with older children. We would suggest he be an only dog; and not in a home with cats. Brutus is playful and would love a fenced yard where he could play and have fun.  This is a VERY nice dog!  Please consider giving him a home.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $100.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $50.  February 7, 2025, 4:05 pm

Story
James is 3-month-old male Lab mix (our best guess) who has already been neutered.  He is an owner turn in because they lost their home to a fire.  James has a black and white coat with some brown markings.  He is absolutely beautiful! We believe James will be a medium sized adult dog who could weigh 50-60 pounds.  He is a very nice puppy who is playful and loving; but laid back and calm too.  He will make a fantastic family dog because he will do well with children and other dogs. Dog/puppy adoption fees are $100.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $50.  February 26, 2025, 5:25 pm

Story
Hero is a 9-month-old male Black Lab/Pit Bull mix who has already been neutered.  He came to PAHS after city animal control was called to pick him up at a local apartment building.  The landlord discovered Hero tied to a rail in a bathtub after the tenants moved out---weeks earlier.  This puppy was in terrible shape--at nearly 5 months old he only weighed 17 pounds.  Hero's condition was so poor that PAHS decided they needed the help of Animal Medical Clinic to try to stabilize and save him.  He stayed there for several weeks under a vet's care; and as you can see he is ready for a new start on life.  Hero now weighs about 40 pounds; and he has a gorgeous healthy black coat with just bit of white on his chest. Despite the neglect of his previous owners--he is happy-go-lucky and very loving.  Hero is playful, high energy, and just full of life!  He loves everybody at the shelter; and we believe he would be good with other dogs and children.  We think Hero will be a large adult dog who will weigh 50-60 pounds.  In case you are wondering--there is a court case involving Hero.  He will thrive in a home with a patient adopter who is willing to take up a lot of time with him; and make sure Hero gets lots of exercise.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $100.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $50.  February 25, 2025, 10:43 am

Story
Nash is an 8-week-old male Lab/Boxer (or maybe Bulldog) mix.  His litter was found as strays, out in the county, and no one came looking for him.  Nash is brown with just a bit of white on his chest and chin.  He will probably be a large adult dog who could weigh 60 pounds.  All of these puppies are very calm, laid back, very loving, and sweet.  Nash would be great with children and other dogs.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $100.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $50.  February 27, 2025, 8:03 pm
