Story
Say hello to Shadow, a 1 1/2-year-old male Lab/German Shepherd mix weighing around 55 pounds. He is house trained. Shadow is a very shy boy who has been with us at rescue since he was six months old. We asked a trainer for help with his shyness, and he had improved by leaps and bounds. He is more playful and confident. We're looking for a warm and caring family who will understand when he's timid and provide him with lots of love and reassurance. Shadow will benefit from a fenced-in yard. Though he's gentle natured and wouldn't hurt a fly, small children may startle him; therefore, a home with older children or adults only would be best. Shadow does well with other dogs and cats. His foster says of him, " Shadow K is an extraordinary dog, he just isn't yet sure how to show it. His heart is filled with love!" (Revision11/24/23, ME 10/7/23)**It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed, is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. Adoption fees for Hope dogs and those who have been at rescue for prolonged amounts of time are reduced to $150 plus a $100 transport fee, as notated in their listings.November 1, 2024, 9:22 pm

Story
He was already named Bruno when he came to us, which sounds like a tough guy name to us, and Bruno Boy (we added the boy) is anything but!  A Lab/Catahoula mix, his 5-month-old puppy weight is between 20 and 25 pounds.  He will most likely grow to a mature weight of 30-35 pounds.  Not the biggest dog, not the smallest, but just right.  With his short and sleek coat of black and white, he's a handsome fellow, and he loves to be stroked.  We brought him out of the kill shelter and, once with us at rescue, we discovered that he loves dogs, kids, and his foster's cat!  No tough guy here! What a sweetie this pup is!  (posted 3/19/24, TN)**It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate.
