Mocha will be 6 years old 12/15/24. We purchased her from an AKC registered breeder and Mocha is also registered. She is eager for long walks daily on a leash. When possible she loves to run through the woods without a leash. Retrieving is her game on land or in the lake. Mocha sleeps in her pet bed in our bedroom. She has a good appetite and eats dog food from Costco. She has had dog training and is obedient more or less at her own will. She is very loveable. Her special need is that she is very anxious and excitable. We give her medication daily, available through Walmart pharmacy.

Story
Codie - Codie is a 2 year old super sweet lab mix that has been in foster care his whole life, patiently waiting for his forever family. His sister, Roxxie, was with us as well, but she was adopted this past year to a wonderful family. Codie loves to go on walks and loves the dog park & being around other pups. He is very shy at first with humans and other pups, but it just takes him a little time to warm up. He just has to make sure he can trust you. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He loves snacks and cheese. That's the way to his heart. He is fully crate trained and potty trained. If there was ever a dog that was autistic, I believe Codie to be. He is so smart and has really come out of his shelter but it really does take time. He would love to live in his kennel if I would let him, but I won't. It's going to take a special family who will take the time with him. He would thrive with another pup to lead the way. He follows Snoop around and steals all the toys and loves to grab things in the house to take to his kennel. 😂 If you are missing something, he usually has it. He is so sweet and so funny. Story
Affectionately called "Tiny Terra" by her foster pawrents, this gorgeous little pup is an adorable mixture of sassy and sweet. Terra is a medium sized mixed breed that we guess is part Lab and part who knows. She was pulled from a local shelter after being put on the euthanasia list. We saved her, got her healthy and this little pup is ready for her furever! And yes, her ears do naturally stand like that. We're in love with them too. Terra is a precious pup that loves to play but has also settled into an amazing pup that enjoys a good cuddle and movie on the couch. She loves to play in the yard and would adore having a 4 legged sibling that likes to play. She also enjoys going for runs or walks in the neighborhood. This girl handles car rides like a pro and immediately starts the sniffs when you crack the window. She is naturally curious though so an owner that can help establish boundaries would be better. She's managed to get her nose in our coffee cups more than once but isn't destructive. This playful pup will be an amazing addition to the right family. Terra would be great with older kids that are steady on 2 legs. She's incredibly smart, knows sit and working on place, house trained, crate trained, and knows her leash manners. Terra corrects easily and is very sensitive so gentle guidance will be all you need for her. She can get chatty when she's frustrated, like when her 4 legged siblings don't want to play. :D A simple "that's enough" and she settles. If you're interested in learning more about this gorgeous girl or would like to apply and have her join your family, please submit this form: dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form. We'll forward it to her foster mom who will reach out from there.

🎾Jak Hi I’m Jak, I started my life in a rural shelter but I am thriving with my foster family! I am a very very sweet and loving boy who wants nothing more then to cuddle my humans! I LOVE going for walks, chewing on bones, playing with toys and sunbathing in the yard. My foster mum says I’m perfect on the leash and walk well with other dogs. I’m good with kids and other dogs. Jak is a great listener and has been fun to train and work with. He picks things up so quickly! Jak would make a great addition to any family or single person who has plenty of love to give and wants to take him on the locational outing. Jak does not enjoy dog parks but will go on every hike or public outing with you.

🐾DARLA❤️ Darla is a 1-year-old lab mix that is unfortunately looking for a new home because the baby in her home is allergic to her😞 so we are here to help! Her current humans say they love the way she smiles when she stretches for her walks in the morning, and that she is the perfect exercise partner! She is a loveable companion that brings happiness and joy to even the darkest of days ☀️ Darla is a very adventurous pup. She loves to socialize with other dogs and play all day. Her perfect home will have treats, toys, and bones - and of course nice spot to sleep and hang out when her humans are gone! 💤 Although her tiny human is allergic to her, Darla loves babies and kids. Humans and dogs of all sizes are her bff’s! Darla’s current mom says she has been her joy and hope in dark times, and she is hopeful for a wonderful forever family for her. 🏡 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
Smokey is a PRECIOUS “coyote pup” that we pulled from a local shelter and is ready for his forever home 🖤 If you give Smokey scratches, he will beg you for more. He loves attention and affection and will try his hardest to please you to earn more lovins! He is friendly with other dogs and people, and doesn’t pull on leash, making him a great walking or hiking buddy. 🏕️ This handsome boy is attentive, and quick learner. He is medium- energy, making him great for active lifestyles but also lazy when you need him to be! Once comfortable in his new home, Smokey may start to push some boundaries. For example, when left alone he may grab a shoe or the remote control. He's also not very comfortable with certain things, like getting into the car. With patience and positive reinforcement training, he is sure to overcome these mental barriers.🥰 Smokey knows the cues "sit" and "stay" but doesn't always respond, so he still needs some work on basic obedience. He is fully house trained! Smokey needs a forever home that will be patient with him and continue his training. He would also appreciate a semi-active lifestyle, regularly going on walks. He will do very well in a home with children and other dogs or being the only dog.🐶 If Smokey sounds like the one for you, please apply!
