Story
Nilla is the sweetest girl. Nilla is one of our bottle raised puppies who are all about being loved and snuggled. Her mother was unfortunately hit and killed by a car when the puppies were only about a week old. She is an awesome big puppy still. She is very smart and has the perfect personality for a great therapy dog. 2nd Chance Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 Non-profit rescue organization. All of our animals come fully vetted which includes vaccinations, spay/neuter as well as Heartworm and flea/tick prevention. We can also arrange transportation to your location within 500 miles of our sanctuary in Hayden, Alabama if necessary. The additional charge of $35 (health certificate required for out of state travel) plus a .50 cents per mile charge to your location. This will be calculated on an individual basis should you need this option and you will be given the total prior to finalization of the adoption process. There is a Non-Refundable $100.00 deposit that will be required in order to secure a place on a transport. The $100.00 deposit will be deducted from the balance owed at the time of the adoption. Deposits and fees can be paid via PayPal, Venmo, or Cash. All balances must be paid in full at the time of the dog's arrival to you. We look forward to helping you find your family's new Baby! Story
Caramel is such a sweet beautiful unique little girl. She wants to be a lap baby forever. She was bottle raised along with her siblings. Their mother was a stray that was hit and killed unfortunately when her puppies were only about a week old. We found them in a local man's barn and began their life with us. They are very healthy and robust! Caramel is very smart and learns very fast with regards to puppy lessons.

Story
Aspen is another one of our bottle fed babies when their mother was hit by a car and killed back in December. He is big goofball and thinks he can be a lap baby for sure! Great kid's dog (not small toddlers) due to his size and energy level. Loves toys and wrestling. He needs a fenced yard to romp and play in.

Story
LOWER ADOPTION/TRANSPORT FEE $250 Say hello to Shadow, a 1 1/2-year-old male Lab/German Shepherd mix weighing around 55 pounds. He is house trained. Shadow is a very shy boy who has been with us at rescue since he was six months old. We asked a trainer for help with his shyness, and he had improved by leaps and bounds. He is more playful and confident. We're looking for a warm and caring family who will understand when he's timid and provide him with lots of love and reassurance. Shadow will benefit from a fenced-in yard. Though he's gentle natured and wouldn't hurt a fly, small children may startle him; therefore, a home with older children or adults only would be best. Shadow does well with other dogs and cats. His foster says of him, " Shadow K is an extraordinary dog, he just isn't yet sure how to show it. His heart is filled with love!" (Revision11/24/23, ME 10/7/23) LOWER ADOPTION/TRANSPORT FEE $250**It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed, is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. Adoption fees for Hope dogs and those who have been at rescue for prolonged amounts of time are reduced to $150 plus a $100 transport fee, as notated in their listings.November 13, 2024, 5:20 pm

Story
LOWER ADOPTION/TRANSPORT FEE: $250 He was already named Bruno when he came to us, which sounds like a tough guy name to us, and Bruno Boy (we added the boy) is anything but!  A Lab/Catahoula mix, his 5-month-old puppy weight is between 20 and 25 pounds.  He will most likely grow to a mature weight of 30-35 pounds.  Not the biggest dog, not the smallest, but just right.  With his short and sleek coat of black and white, he's a handsome fellow, and he loves to be stroked.  We brought him out of the kill shelter and, once with us at rescue, we discovered that he loves dogs, kids, and his foster's cat!  No tough guy here! What a sweetie this pup is!  (posted 3/19/24, TN) LOWER ADOPTION/TRANSPORT FEE $250**It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate.
