Story
Can we just stop for a second and talk about the undeniable cuteness of this little girl!!!!!! She's approx 8 weeks old and full or personality. She's in a foster home in Memphis Tn with Michele and many other dogs and lots of comings and goings so she's very well socialized and confident . She is kennel trained and enjoys the company of her siblings, learning to house train with the help of pee pads and she's also learning all about the doggy door. Wonderful with children, a very gentle and puppy like personality! We use a transport company called Rescue Vet Transport to get our pets from Memphis to the northeast! They travel each and every weekend delivering our adopted pets to the northeast . Transport fee is an additional $185. If you would like to make Greta a part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.9/19/2024 Hello, friends! It’s Lucy, checking in. In case you forgot, I’d like to highlight some of my positive features, and remind you what a lovely lady I am! I love to take walks, and I consistently keep a loose leash. You might say walking is my superpower! I steer clear of pedestrians, bicycles, strollers, and other dogs. I may stop to sniff for a few moments, but I don’t linger. As a mature, middle-aged lady, I sleep a lot during the day. I don’t have some of the naughty behaviors of less mature labs. I’m completely housetrained, and I sleep quietly through the night. I don’t bark, I don’t jump, I don’t counter surf, and I’m not destructive. I like to be close to my humans, and prefer not to be left alone, but we’re working on building my confidence and I’m making amazing progress! Oh, did I mention that I’m highly food motivated, so that’s another plus! While on walks, I alert to squirrels, but don’t chase. I ignore ducks and geese. I haven’t been tested with cats yet, but when I've come across them in the neighborhood, I ignore them. I am quite healthy now that I’ve been spayed and have had extensive dental work. I have some age-related changes in my spine (who doesn’t at my age!), so I take a supplement and a mild pain reliever, but it doesn’t seem to interfere with my physical abilities. I like car rides, so won’t you take me home?!? If you are an approved adopter and would like to be considered as a potential adopter, please email Labmatch@labadoption.org. If you are not yet approved, you can read about, and start the process here. 9/2/2024 Lucy checking in!  Actually, I’m wondering why I haven’t found my forever home yet. I’ve been in my foster home since May, and no one is interested in adopting me. I can’t figure out why? I love car rides, I don’t bark, I’m a perfect lady in the house and don’t mess with anything, I love going for walks, I also like just laying by your side. Once I warm up to people, I am your best friend.  What’s not to love? Ok, maybe it’s because I’m not a fan of my foster sister and foster mom thinks I should be an only dog? But I love daycare, and they say I’m coming out of my shell, so it’s not like I don’t like ALL dogs, I must just be selective.   If your looking for a companion to be by your side, and love you unconditionally, I’m your girl. I still have so much love to give, and I am waiting patiently to find my forever home!   If you would like to learn more about me and have already been approved, please email labmatch@labadoption.org. Or fill out an application from here.   I just know my forever home is out there! Could it be you??   7/28/24 HEY EVERYONE!! I just had a dental done, had 7 teeth pulled and 2 root canals, and now my teeth are pearly white. The vet thinks I'm somewhere between 7 and 8 years old, and I am a huge lover. I'm very content to hang out with you. I know my forever home is out there, because foster mom tells me so, and I sure would love a home to call my own... If you're an approved adopter, I'd sure love to meet you. Reach out to labmatch@labadoption.org if you're already approved, or start the process at www.labadoption.org! I'll be waiting...  UPDATE 7/16/24 Hi! Well I’m much more comfortable in my foster home now that I’m used to the routine.  I like to stay close to my foster parents especially my foster mom.  They think I was close to my mom before she passed away.  I’m spending more time alone with my foster dad and doing really good.  Well, maybe I cry a little when foster mom leaves, but then I just hang out with foster dad.  I even spent a day with my foster uncle and he said I was super good.  I just followed him around all day. Guess you could say I'm a bit of a velcro dog. I’ve been going to doggie day care 4 or 5 days a week, and I'm getting along fine with the dogs there. I also like to follow the staff around.  Next week I’m going to a dental specialist for a cleaning and X-rays to check 2 teeth that are cracked. I would sure love to find my forever family!  I might be a little shy when I meet you, but I’ll warm up to you quickly, and love you forever. Please consider adopting me, I have so much love to give. 5/9/24 Hi everyone!  My name is Lucy and I’m new to L.E.A.R.N. so my foster family is still getting to know me. I was surrendered to a shelter along with 2 other dogs after my mom passed away and my dad didn’t want to keep me. Even though I lived with 2 other dogs I’m not very fond of the lab that lives here. Not sure if it’s all the change, or maybe I lived with smaller dogs, or maybe our personalities just don’t mesh. It happens… Good thing is, my foster family and a trainer are helping me with that. They think I’ll be able to overcome it with the proper training. I did go and meet the day care crew, and was ok when I saw all the big dogs, so who knows what’s up at the moment. I’ll keep working at it. My foster family tells me I’m a sweet girl but a little fearful. I’m getting more comfortable every day. I stay in a crate at night and when no one is home.  When I’m not in the crate I like to stay close to my foster parents and I don’t bother anything in the house. I’m pretty quiet and mellow. We went to a dog wash and I was very good!  I was just spayed and need a little time to heal but I’m still available to meet you.  If you have a another dog, we could try a meet and see if we get along, but it may end up to be the best if I’m the only dog in the house.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 4, 2024, 10:16 pm
