Palmer-Labradoodle male, ~ 6 yr. (Feb. 2026) Palmer was rescued from a high kill shelter. He was adopted, but unfortunately, the family fell onto bad times and split up. All the pets were sent back to their original rescues and Palmer was warmly welcomed back by his foster home in Bourbon County Rescue. He's accepted the changes in his life but we do want him to has his very own family again. Where he can have the security and love he so longs for. Palmer is a nice medium sized dog with a lot of personality. He's an active dog, who needs an experienced owner/family with an active lifestyle to keep him mentally and physically challenged. He's a loyal dog, bonds easily to people and is a friend to all. Palmer is about 40-45#. A home without small children and cats would be best. He may be too exuberant for them. Palmer gets along well with other dogs. His adoption fee is $300 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. He naturally leads, expects respect, and carries himself like he owns the room. He does best with proper introductions to other male dogs and thrives with calm, confident handling. When introductions are done right, he sets the tone beautifully. The poodle in him? Exceptionally smart. Speak to him in regular English; he understands. He knows tons of words and commands, learns quickly, and is always tuned in. He even knows his toys by name, though he may deliver them almost to you. Close enough. Colonel craves human connection. He’s not clingy, but he wants to be near his people. Interaction, touch, playtime, you’re his favorite teammate. He’ll sleep on your bed if it meets his comfort standards (soft blanket preferred). Otherwise, he’s happy in his own bed like the independent gentleman he is. He’s crate-trained and does well when you’re out. If you’re home, expect a brief howl just to check in, let him stretch his legs, and he’ll return to his crate on his own. We rescued her from the shelter along with her puppies and immediately saw what a kind and loving mother she was! Allison is good with other dogs, kids and his foster's cat! What a delightful addition she would be to your family! Hi Beth, this is the other dog. I’ve been waiting on new photos. His name is Danny. He’s a senior, approximately 10 or 11. He has obedience training too, but it was almost 8 years ago. He’s very sweet, a little hyper, loves his ball, and great with all people. He is dog selective but does well with most females. He’s lived with numerous cats, but he’s not trustworthy with them.
