Story
COLONEL Labradoodle Male Chocolate 3 years old 94 lbs Meet Colonel: Colonel is an alpha in the most dignified “I’ve got this” kind of way. He naturally leads, expects respect, and carries himself like he owns the room. He does best with proper introductions to other male dogs and thrives with calm, confident handling. When introductions are done right, he sets the tone beautifully. The poodle in him? Exceptionally smart. Speak to him in regular English; he understands. He knows tons of words and commands, learns quickly, and is always tuned in. He even knows his toys by name, though he may deliver them almost to you. Close enough. Colonel craves human connection. He’s not clingy, but he wants to be near his people. Interaction, touch, playtime, you’re his favorite teammate. He’ll sleep on your bed if it meets his comfort standards (soft blanket preferred). Otherwise, he’s happy in his own bed like the independent gentleman he is. He’s crate-trained and does well when you’re out. If you’re home, expect a brief howl just to check in, let him stretch his legs, and he’ll return to his crate on his own. Brilliant, commanding, affectionate, and just a little dramatic, Colonel is an amazingly good boy who thrives with structure, confidence, and love. Please Note: **No children under 10!** If you are interested in adopting COLONEL, please visit our website at www.somersetcottagepoodlerescue.org to learn about our adoption process and download the adoption application, click on ADOPT COLONEL's adoption donation is $1050

Mendel is the best and one of the most intelligent dogs I ever met. We been together for almost five years and he is one of my best friends! Unfortunately my arthritis and recurrent fainting are making it hard to take care of him. It would be nice for him to goto a family near Rockville Maryland so I can occasionally visit and also drop of birthday treats. Thanks!

Story
Meet Roddy, our sweet, handsome, and energetic boy with the most innocent face. He is mix of poodle, Rottweiler, golden retriever, and Labrador, born on October 20, 2024, and weighs about 70 lbs. Roddy is neutered, healthy, house-trained, crate-trained, and full of love. When I first got Roddy, I was working from home and could walk him several times a day. Now that I am in the office full-time, he spends most of his time in his crate, and that's just not fair to him. He deserves more time, space, and attention than I can give. Roddy is incredibly smart, playful, high-energ energy and affectionate. He still thinks he is a little pup who can fit on your lap, not realizing he is almost bigger than you! He thrives in a loving, active home that can match his energy and give him the love and freedom he deserves. Roddy thrives on learning new things. He would really benefit from consistent training and a family who has the time to guide him and help him reach his full potential.

Story
Moose Tracks is a homebody black lab mix who loves to play. He has two speeds- watching TV and getting belly rubs, or high-energy playtime. He loves to chew on bones, play tug-of-war and fetch.    Moose has met both cats and dogs in his foster home. He gets along well with playful big dogs but barks at cats. He would do well as an only pet or in a house with big dogs. He is friendly with kids in the neighborhood, especially older kids who can play with him.    At night, he sleeps well in his crate and is fairly good about his housetraining, rarely having accidents. He paws at the door to let you know he needs to go unless he is too distracted with playing.    Moose walks well on a leash and has started to learn how to sit. He is attentive to people and while he seems to be a fast learner overall, he does not respond to the name Moose yet, so he can easily be renamed.    Adoption fee: $525, includes 1st two DAPP,  deworming, flea preventative, microchip   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have.
