Story
Acquired Chloe about 2yrs ago and raised her from a puppy. She is well mannered and knows some basic commands. Great with kids and other dogs. Don't know about cats since we don't have any. She is leash and house trained and loves attention, walks and play time. She loves to play fetch with balls or other toys and swimming in the pool or lake is a big hit with her too. She is spayed and groomed end of July 2024. She is currently an outside dog but would make an awesome inside pet. We have problems maintaining a proper fence to keep her safe and can't afford to build a new one so regrettably need to rehome her.

DNA tests show Butch is 26.6% labador retriever & 14.4 % Siberian husky. He was dumped in the community of DFW Collie Rescue (southwest of Ft.Worth, TX). It took a while to make friends with him, but we did and brought him into our care. He is around 5 years old & been in rescue 4 yrs. He is loyal, loving & a wonderful companion & learnes quickly. He is a sweet,sweet dog with a teddy bear disposition & needs a home where he can go for rides, hikes & playing with other dogs. He is crate trained and a good rider. He walks on a leash but does need practice. . He will sit and shake hands for a treat. He is a big guy with clear blue eyes that can seem to stare a hole through you. He is good with female dogs, He is afraid of the resident cat. He loves to run in the fields and pastures at his foster home so he is definitely not a town dog unless there is place close by in the country for him to run. (Or the yard is 2-3 acres) He does like to dig (especially when he smells something.). so he will need a secure fence. Butch is neutered, current on shots and heartworm negative and on preventive. He is also microchipped. The application can be emailed or mailed. The app is geared toward collies but can apply to any breed. When the app is received a home visit will be scheduled (virtual can be arranged and references contacted. There is an adoption fee, 6.75% Texas sales tax and a small fee to register his microchip. Cleo was picked up as a stray and not claimed. She is nervous at first and does seek comfort in who she knows. Once she is comfortable, she is a love bug that enjoys scratches, and she does think she is the perfect size for a lap. Cleo does not seem to be potty trained and can make quite the mess if she's left alone too long. Cleo is dog friendly, but we always recommend a meet and greet with any current pets. We always highly recommend a meet and greet with any household dog. Cleo sniffed at the kittens in the cat room and continued on her way so she may be cat friendly. She does pull a little when first on the leash. She loves to bark when not receiving any attention. She does do good in a crate. Cleo is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. ECHS does not reserve adoptable animals for the public. Xavier was picked up at the City Park here in Stephenville and was never reclaimed. He is a very nervous boy but does like receiving attention. While walking on a leash, he does not like going through doorways or kennel doors but does fine once past them. He does need some assistance to get into crates but has done fine once in them. He does try to squeeze past us when we open a kennel or crate door, so he will probably bolt if given the chance. He does shake his head a lot however we have not noticed anything wrong with his ears. He does fine with our shelter dogs, but a meet and greet is always highly recommended with any current household dogs. He likes to stay at your feet when he is outside and is a very patient dog. He does know "sit" and partially "lay". Xavier is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, de-wormed, heartworm negative and on prevention. All adoptions are first come first serve the day of availability. ECHS does not reserve adoptable animals for the public. Please note that availability is subject to change at any point in time per ECHS discretion.
