Story
OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS OR COLORADO BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information.
Rush is an 8-month-old, 80-pound dog with a heart as big as his paws. He came to us from the Fort Worth shelter, severely underweight and struggling, but his spirit never broke. He’s fought his way back to health and is ready for a home, but not just any home. Rush needs the right person—someone who understands big, high-energy dogs and is willing to give him the structure and stability he thrives in.
Rush is crate trained, fully house trained, and not destructive as long as he has plenty of toys. He loves his toys so much that if no one throws them for him, he’ll throw them himself. When it’s time to play, he gives it everything he’s got. He’s obsessed with fetch, though he tends to overshoot the throw in his excitement and has to backtrack. It’s hilarious, and just another reason why this boy is so special. He loves belly rubs, neck scratches, and pressing his face into his person’s chest when he needs comfort.
Rush is still learning about the world. He is a big puppy with big feelings, and he gets overly excited in new situations. Slow, controlled introductions to new people and dogs are important to help him adjust. He is working on his leash manners and learning to channel his energy, but he needs a confident, patient handler who can continue guiding him.
Rush is more than just a rescue—he’s a special, loving, and loyal companion looking for a home that understands him. Look into his eyes and you’ll see it—the love, the loyalty, the potential. If you have the experience and commitment to give Rush the home he needs, he will give you a lifetime of adventure, companionship, and devotion.
