WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Look no further than Millicent, whoo hoo, that's me!! I'm not into all that Foo Foo, so you can just call me Millie! But, I am hoping for a home, a family...one to call my very own! I is a youngster of just turning one this month. I came from a home where I got to be too much for them to handle so I spent my days AND nights in a crate. My coat was all matted and I had sores on my body from sitting in a dirty crate and was a little on the malnourished side. Well, my coat has been clipped, my body has healed, I'm eating good... and I've had a bath so I smell so good now!!!! I am so excited to be out and enjoying being a dog! I is athletic, playful, and super affectionate. I'm always up for trying new things, whether it's chasing after a ball or exploring a new hiking trail. I could even make a great jogging pawtner! I haven't had much training in the manners department and I will need some continued work in that area. I will jump up when I get excited or when meeting new people. But already I'm doing better just from having some outlet for all my energy. As a young 'un, I does have plenty of that energy and I is always ready for fun. I have that happy innocent adventurous spirit who loves to explore and check out new smells. I come in at about 45lbs but still need a few extra groceries to get to my ideal weight. But, I'm still gonna be that pawsomely perfect medium size for living life to the fullest with ALL the adventures we'll be going on!!! I do great with people but I might be a little too much for the small kiddos. I would though probably do great with the older ones where we could have a blast playing in the yard. I also do fabulous with the other pups in my foster home. Although I haven't had the pleasure of meeting any of those creatures y'all call a cat yet. Story
This is Hero! We adopted him with the original intention to be a service dog and self trained him, but never got around to the medical training part. He knows lots of tricks, he's been trained to walk beside you on walks, rarely barks, loves every living creature, and has behaved very well around infants, toddlers, children, and he even lived with a cat that he became best friends with. He's the friendliest dog I've ever met, while also very gentle. We are looking to find him a new home because my wife and I recently had a baby, and don't have the time to give Hero the attention and play that he deserves.

Say hello to Dakota! This beautiful girl loves running in our play yards, lounging in the dog pools, and belly rubs. She was adopted out but has come back to BAHS by no fault of her or the adopters. We have now learned the type of home that will be the best fit for Dakota. She needs to be in a very calm environment with only 1-2 people and no cats. Dakota also needs plenty of time to learn to trust, so she will need everyone in her future family to visit her for a few months before going home. Once this gorgeous girl gets to know you, she has plenty of love to give. Dakota is a Lab mix and was born on 11/7/2015. She is spayed, microchipped, current on all vaccinations, and takes preventive flea/tick/heartworm medicine. As with all of our dogs, Dakota must be an indoor dog. If you are interested in meeting Dakota, please email bahshelter@yahoo.com. If there are other dogs in your home, we require a meet and greet, which you can schedule via email at bahshelter@yahoo.com. If you cannot attend your scheduled visit, kindly text or call the volunteer you are meeting with before your scheduled visit. They are taking time out of their day to meet with you. Thank you!

Story
Laney is a 7 year old dog that we are looking to rehome. Overall she iss very sweet and it breaks my heart that we have to do this, but she is fighting with our other dog and it iss not a safe environment for our newborn baby. Laney is shy and quirky at first, but VERY loyal to the people she knows as family. She has learned how to accept many different people as I have changed roommates and gotten married recently. Laney has never been comfortable with children, but she has never shown aggression. Laney loves playing Frisbee, fetch with ball, hiking/walking, and lazing around the house all day. She sits in my office with me all day and would never come out if I let her. She is a great walking dog, does not pull on the leash at all. She is definitely house trained, has no accidents, and is not destructive at all, overall very low maintenance if you do not have another dog (she does not get along with other dogs).
