Story
This is Hero! We adopted him with the original intention to be a service dog and self trained him, but never got around to the medical training part. He knows lots of tricks, he's been trained to walk beside you on walks, rarely barks, loves every living creature, and has behaved very well around infants, toddlers, children, and he even lived with a cat that he became best friends with. He's the friendliest dog I've ever met, while also very gentle. We are looking to find him a new home because my wife and I recently had a baby, and don't have the time to give Hero the attention and play that he deserves.

These pups are in Alamo Heights, Texas too!

Story
Get a load of this big dawg! Jelly Roll has the happiest face, but his story is a sad one. This boy was rescued from the euthanasia list at a San Antonio shelter with the hope of finding a new family. Now, after six months of hopping from foster home to foster home, he has yet to be adopted. Jelly Roll is a special boy who suffers from anxiety. This has made it difficult for him to make new friends. He finds it hard to trust strangers at first meeting, but it doesn't take long for him to start showing his loyalty. He becomes a Velcro dog in just a few hours. With that, Jelly Roll also has a great sense of humor! He is a talented singer and will happily join in when he hears country songs, fire trucks and the sound of squeaky toys. As a mature dog, he has also mastered his house manners. He keeps his kennel immaculately clean and is non-destructive. Additionally, he loves his walks where he can discover all the best smells in the grass. Jelly Roll will make the perfect companion for someone who wants an easy, lovable dog. If you'd like to come home every day to a wagging tail and a toothy grin, please consider giving this long-timer a second chance. Apply today!

Story
Rescued at just four days old, Ruffles and her six littermates were saved from unfortunate circumstances. They had no mama in the picture, and nowhere to go! Fortunately, our devoted adoption coordinator, Christine, took them in, bottle-fed them, and cared for them until they were old enough to be adopted. Now that Ruffles has been baked to perfection, she is ready to live life on the savory side! Ruffles seems to possess traits from the Retriever family, as she is incredibly friendly, intelligent, and loyal. As an older puppy, Ruffles has mastered her house manners, too. She is currently living with several other dogs in her foster home and loves every minute that she gets to spend with her "pack." Whether she is snuggling up during movie night or hitting the streets for a brisk walk, she brings a well-rounded, happy temperament wherever she goes.  Ruffles would make a great dog for a family with children or other pets. She will be the best friend you could ever ask for with continued training and socialization. Satisfy your craving for a new bestie and apply to meet Ruffles!

Story
Howdy, y'all! Isn't this boy as handsome as can be? Yes, he's a looker, but he's also a great time! Howdy is the happiest, goofiest companion. He is thought to be some kind of Labrador Retriever mix, though we don't know for sure. He certainly looks nothing like his mama, Shania! That said, he seems to have inherited her outgoing temperament. Howdy is a social butterfly who will make friends with anyone and everyone. When he isn't stuck right by your side, he can often be found playing with his dog friends or chewing on a tasty bone. Every so often, he crashes out into long naps with a resounding snore that keeps you giggling. Considering this cowboy is likely mixed with some larger breeds, he will appreciate a spacious home environment. Howdy is a well-balanced dog, but he may also ask his new parents for daily walks and mind-stimulating toys. It's true that he still has a little bit of puppy energy, but he's ready to learn! He is already potty trained, and is familiar with several commands like "sit" and "no." As a young pup, he has plenty of time to adapt to his new family's lifestyle. So, if you're in dire need of some Southern sweetness, submit an application to meet Howdy today!
