Story
I acquired Boston through a rehome and he has been living with me for awhile. I love him dearly, but realize a multiple dog home is not the best setting for him. He doesnt get along well with two of my dogs so it has caused some stress/fights in the home. I use several management techniques, but it has escalated more recently and I know isnt healthy for him or my other dogs. He does come from a home where he was abused by his owner so has some trauma and doesn't trust easily. I worked really hard on gaining his trust, but he still doesn't trust strangers and is slow to warm up. He has never offered to bite me or any other human, but his owner will need to be experienced with fearful dogs and willing to be patient with him. He has never been around kids, so I would recommend no kids or older teenagers. I think the ideal home would be someone that has a quiet life, no kids or older kids where he can be the only dog. He is a great companion and if I only had one dog he would be amazing.

Story
Finley is being fostered in PA. Finley is a very sweet, gentle, 8 year old mixed breed boy who loves all people and gets along great with other dogs and cats. He is much more interested in his human and being right with his human than he is about other animals. Finley is a spry, healthy little man who was excellent for his grooming and at his first vet appointment where he had blood drawn and was given vaccines. Everyone comments on how sweet he is and his foster mom thinks he's pretty much perfect. Finley has some vision and is very able to follow his foster mom all over the house. He quickly learned how to go up stairs and he can come down them well now, unless they are new to him. He is apprehensive on unfamiliar stairs and needs help getting started but then he's fine. Finley has sporadic skin issues that seem to cause his hair to be a bit thinner on his back end and belly. These issues may be caused by seasonal allergies but we are not exactly certain of the cause yet. Finley appears to understand potty training but because he is not neutered, he is marking a little, living in a house with other dogs, but he wears a belly band very well. This should improve significantly after he is neutered. Finley is scheduled to be neutered on November 20th and then he will be all set to find his forever family. They will be very lucky people to add this adorable man to their home. He has so much to give and wants nothing more than to be your best friend. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately. 12/6/2024 Finley has recovered from his neuter surgery and is waiting for his forever family to find him. He is an absolute love bug and will make the perfect little companion. He continues to follow his foster mom all around the house and insists on being on her lap every time she sits on the recliner. Finley is very good with the cats and other dogs in his foster home and navigates stairs and follows his foster mom to the door to go outside. He responds very well to his name. Although he is 8 years old, he acts much more like a 3-4 year old. He loves to play with many different types of toys and especially loves to play tug with his human. He is adorable to watch choose his toy from the toy box. Finley's skin issues have also cleared up with antibiotics. Finley is an amazing, healthy little man who is patiently waiting for his forever family.

Story
Sable is being fostered in Tennessee. Hi, I’m Sable. I’m part black lab and part slobber-goblin-land-seal-snuggle-muffin and I am looking for my forever home. I have only one wish... a place to call home! I love to sleep on the sofa with someone to cuddle with. I have learned about cats, there are 2 of them here. I really like them. I get nervous in new places and need help to find my way around. There is a doggy door, so I can go out to potty anytime I want. I am learning stairs, and I am getting used to walking on a leash. There are lots of toys here and my foster siblings share them, and we have so much fun playing. I share my new toys and kibble with them. We love each other! I love playing outside, and I am so gentle. I really want a family who will cuddle me, hold me, hug me, and smooch me. I am not high energy. I’m good with a family who likes to chill or take a walk with me. I travel well and am a great co-pilot. I am fine with a loud crazy household. Noises don't startle me, and I love the sounds of my family around me. I’m not a barker. I am conquering the stairs to go to bed upstairs with the family. I will sleep in a kennel, but I prefer to sleep next to you. I hope you will ask about me. I am ready to bond with my forever family. I have so much love to give. I am waiting and wishing so hard! I will be the best thing you ever did. I promise! Love, Sable ========================================================== A little update on Sable who has been in his foster home for a couple of days. 1. I am a seasoned foster mom, and this boy really is special... smart, funny, desperate to bond with his forever family. He has so much love to give and he is happy to give it to anyone and everyone he meets. 2. He is anxious about being alone. Each day he gets braver and explores away from the safety of me. 3. His happy place is snuggled beside a human! 4. Great with my cats. 5. Has met my neighbors and my family. He loves them and is fantastic with both of my Weimaraner’s. No dominance but still confident. A lovely mix in his personality. 😍 6. Sable is smart and he has this head tilt when he is concentrating. It’s so cute that I want to give him anything he desires! Just a few pics to share of him enjoying play time in his yard and snuggling... my favorite is the one of him and his foster brother Rowan (who is fully sighted) "hunting" squirrels with their eyes closed.
