Story
Hello, this is Arnold! We brought Arnold home from a breeder in October of 2021. Arnold is three years old. He is a very sweet dog that currently lives with another older, large dog and two small children, one of which he has been around since he was brought home. Arnold is great with other dogs and is regularly boarded/goes to doggie daycare. Within the past year, Arnold has started vocalizing to his brother dog, possessiveness over positioning around the dinner table, positions on furniture/bed and positions around people. We have been working with a Behavioral Pyschiatrist, and she confirmed the vocalizing is normal. Unfortunately the vocalizing has been stressing out the older dog. The stress has begun to affect his health and Arnold and the older dog have had some negative interactions lately. He also has some resource guarding with high value items (people/treats). He is currently on anxiety medication.

These pups are in Fort Mill, South Carolina too!

I got Dixie off a farm lady back in 2023 we been best friends ever since, I am getting into trucking and my schedule is way busier than when I adopted and I just need her to go to a home that can adopt her and spend lots of time with her . She loved to play get treats loves to snuggle. She is potty trained and everything. She is the sweetest girl ever, you’ll love her. Who ever gets her I’d likes to stay in contact with . Story
I’m Brett, a handsome Labrador Retriever/terrier mix who is looking for my forever fetch partner!I was surrendered to the Humane Society of York County when my previous owner could no longer care for me. My estimated birth date is July 2019, and I'm about 60 pounds.Did I mention that playing fetch is my favorite activity? I love to go on a good hike as well, especially if there’s some water to wade in along the way.I can be nervous meeting new people, but if you give me time to get comfortable and trust you, I bring the cuddles and am an affectionate boy.I’ve been at the shelter too long and need a stable forever home! I’ve had a rough journey and I need a family that will show me love and patience.I’ve enjoyed my field trips with HSYC staff and volunteers, for hikes or pet store shopping, and have shown what a great car rider I am. I love to play with toys, and one of my favorite moves is to back up to my humans and sit on their lap.I would do best in a dog-experienced home that can manage my energy, and I’d prefer to be the only pet.If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.

I’m Goldilocks, a beautiful Labrador retriever mix with a radiant smile that will win you over!I came to the Humane Society of York County from York County Animal Services. I’m a medium-size girl of about 55 pounds, and my estimated birth date is October 2023.I’m still a young girl with typical Labrador retriever energy, and I would be happy in an active home that helps me channel that spunky nature!I enjoy playing with other dogs who match my energy level.I need a little time to adjust to new things, and I would love a forever home where I can keep building my confidence. If you like to be on the go, I might be the girl who is your perfect companion! If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.
