Story
Liesel is a sweet girl with loads of energy. She likes walks, but needs a fenced yard to run and fetch as well. She is dog reactive and when she came to us we were told she does not like other dogs, but that isn't true. She is just dog selective and has spent time with six different dogs while in our care and has done very well. Introducing the dogs in a proper manner is crucial to successfully getting Liesel to accept a new canine friend. She gets very excited when you first come home or greet her and will tend to jump to say HI, but once things get calm, she calms down as well. She has had some training sessions with 3 different trainers and knows some commands. Liesel has calmed down slightly since coming to us, but she will always be a bit high strung and her adopter must understand and accept that. it is just part of who she is. Liesel loves people, both children and adults, and just needs someone to love her for the dog she is. She wants to please and will be loyal and loving forever, if given the chance..

Story
Hi, my name is Dug. I am a lab mix somewhere around a year and a half old. I can best be described as very puppylike, and extremely affectionate. My likes include whatever you are eating or have in your hands, and my life goals are to get as many belly rubs and treats as I can.Like most rescue pups, I did not get off to a great start. I had people who wanted me but did not take good care of me. It has left me a little shy. My foster parents have been working with me to get me acclimated to the world and it has helped, but please understand, while I know I will love you, I am going to bark at you for a bit. But, I warm up pretty fast and then we can get to the belly rubbing part. What I need is a family preferably without small children. Little hands coming at me kind of freak me out. My foster brother and sister have helped me to gain confidence and learn some manners, so I would love to end up in a house with another dog. Mostly, I need good parents with experience raising dogs.It is my hope that you will want to get to know me. If so, I can promise you this, I will steal your heart and most likely a few of your socks.

Story
Hi, I’m Hunter! I’m an 8-year-old male miniature poodle and weigh around 18 lbs.I spent my first 7 years living in an Amish puppy mill and was dropped off at a vet clinic when I was too old for breeding.I live with other dogs of all sizes (20-100 lbs) and do fine with them. I can be a little bossy at times, so would do best with other dogs who tolerate that. I would probably be calmer in a house with one or two calm dogs (right now I live with puppies and they can get me overexcited). I might be ok as an only dog too. If someone is interested in me, we could do a foster-to-adopt program to check it out. I would probably be fine with cats and can test if you need. I shouldn’t be in a home with children.I seem to be more comfortable around female adults and follow them around for attention. I have to trust you first and then I will want petted!I am crate trained and happily eat my meals in the crate. I should wear belly bands in the home as I work on housetraining. I am spry and healthy but don’t have much of an exercise requirement. It might be easier if you had a fenced yard but that is not currently a requirement. As far as toys, I love playing with my ball and like to paw at it and roll it around.Hope to find my family soon!
