I’ve been hanging out here at FDHS for months now, ever since I came in as a “stray.” My old family? Never showed up for me. But it’s fine—I’m not one to dwell on the past.Here’s the deal: I’m a bit rough around the edges, but I’ve got a heart of gold for the right person. Cats? Nope. Squirrels? Double nope. Other dogs? Ehh, I’m picky—it’s nothing personal. I’m just a guy who knows what he likes. Kids? Let’s keep it to the older crowd or none at all. I’m a strong dude and don’t always know my own strength, so you’ll want a harness for walks. Trust me, I look good in it.Meeting new people? I take it slow. But once you’re in my circle, you’re in for life. I thrive on positive vibes—treats, kind words, and a little patience go a long way with me. I’m not perfect, but hey, who is? I’ve got a lot of love to give if you’re willing to give me a chance.So, what do you say? Are you the kind of person who can handle a dog like me? Hello there, I’m Iris. I may have had a rough start, but I’m full of hope that things are about to get a whole lot better. I came to FDHS as a stray with some pretty sore hips, and after a trip to the vet, we found out I had likely been hit by a car. Luckily, I’m scheduled for surgery, and once that’s behind me, I’ll be on my way to healing and feeling like myself again.I’d love nothing more than to recover in a cozy, quiet home where I can rest up and share some gentle snuggles. I’m a sweet, calm girl with a gentle heart, and I know I’ll make a wonderful friend for the right person. If you’re looking for a sweet soul to welcome into your life, I’d love to be your girl.
