Story
Louie did not get much socialization as he grew up during the COVID days. He is very loving, loyal, and sweet to his own family and friends who he met during his puppy phase. However, he can be very aggressive to people he doesn't know when he was a puppy. He has bitten strangers before and it'll require someone with a lot of dog training and experience to earn his trust. He is very food motivated as well, so that may help during training. However once his trust is earned, he is an absolutely sweet and loyal dog.

Story
Ember is a very energetic and fun medium sized pup (55lbs). She's young (1-2yrs) and vibrant and looking for a home where she can participate in family activities like hikes and walks and Netflix nights. She's as good of a snuggler as she is a jogging companion. Her fur is soft and fluffy and she is lower shedding but we CANNOT guarantee hypoallergenic. She is strong and requires a fit owner who can handle a large and active pup. She did have some matting that resulted in dry skin (hence the shaved spot) that was exmained by a vet who performed a skin scraping to ensure there was no mange or underlying condition (test results were negative). She should be kept on a high quality kibble with fish oil supplements. Ember is located in Houston TX and can be picked up there or we can discuss transport options. Her fee is $850. Meet and greets are done via video chat after an approved application has been submitted. Complete an application for her at recycleddogsrescue.org if interested!

ARROW - 3 years, 75lbs, Doodle, Neutered  This is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Thier Foster Parent Says: "Arrow is amazing so far. He doesn’t know his name at all. We have taken to calling him Row, but been more focused on trying to get him to listen to commands. Great temperament, very loving and cuddly, super friendly but chill attitude to both dogs and humans. Well-behaved but clearly not trained, and DEFINITELY not leash-trained (if he had ever been on a leash before arriving in NY, which is doubtful). He already responds to sit and will come when called, but when he has his mind set on something else, it is difficult to get his attention, even with treats. He is super smart though and already learning quickly. He doesn’t chew on anything while home alone—that said, we have made sure to not leave any open trash bins or food within reach. He certainly has big doodle energy and needs to let it out with long walks and playtime, but overall seems to be a very happy and relaxed boy. At 75 lbs, he is STRONG and walks fast, so anyone working with him will need to be able to handle that (see aforementioned leash training), haha. He will also not hesitate to sit right on top of you, but it’s worth it for the cuddles." INTERMEDIATE: This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty TrainedYes — Few or no accidents Comfy with strangers? Yep — Wants to be friends with everyone who walks by, super social butterfly, loves anyone who will stop to say hello. Comfortable with Children? (ALWAYS requires supervision) Yes for all ages — very gentle, low energy, tolerant, not mouthy Social with Other Dogs? Yes — Good with all other dogs (sizes, breeds, etc.) as far as we know and enjoys socializing with other caninesRespectful of Other Animals? (cats, small pets, etc.) Yes — Seems to get along with other animals, either tries to play with them or is mostly uninterested Mouthy Behavior? Past this point in life – Little to no interest in chewing on stuff or putting things in its mouth that aren’t food. Doesn’t try to chew on hands, feet, etc. during playtime, doesn’t wreck your stuff — only chews on appropriate things like dog toys and bones. Leash Manners? WTF is a Leash – Pulls hard. Zig zags like crazy. Has no idea how to walk on a leash. Getting the Hang of it – Probably hasn’t been on a leash much in its life but he/she is figuring it out. Might be a mild puller but responds to correction. Okay in the city? Yes — Seems unfazed by the sights and sounds, they may as well have been born here.Jumping on People to Say Hi? Medium – Jumps up only on people the dog knows when really excited. Stops with correction. Separation Anxiety? Nope – Completely fine being left home alone. Doesn’t cry or do anything shitty when you leave the apartment or house. Crate training? Not at all – Don’t even have one, I’ve puppy proofed and we free range.  Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake  How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. Story
What a young and silly boy sporting a wiry goatee! Tucker is a 2 year old Labradoodle and he is looking for his new family. He has traded in outdoor farm life for indoor living and thinks it is really swell. Initially he is a little hesitant about meeting new people, but a treat in hand helps him forget his fear and he is happy to meet new people. He fostered in a home with multiple dogs, but we have found that when he is one of two dogs, he tries to protect his new family from the other dog so we prefer to place him in an only dog home. He is hesitant about getting in a car, but once he is in, he is a great rider and seems to enjoy it. He is a very large boy and currently weighs 70#s He is very happy to hang around the house and get pets or to go out in the fenced yard and poke around while is foster mom does yard work. While we are not up to speed on all of the nomenclature for doodles, we do know his mother was the lab and his father was the poodle. His hair is actually great as it is wavy and wiry, but not the grooming nightmare of most doodles. If you have an active family and are looking for a doodle with a great personality that does not have the crazy grooming needs of the curly coats, Tucker may be just the guy for you. Feel free to email iPAWinc2022@gmail.com for an application.

Story
Marshall is a ~10 year old labradoodle. He is about 60-65 lbs and is a tall, lanky boi. As far as I can tell, he is hypoallergenic (I'm not allergic to dogs). He doesn't shed at all. He was rehomed with me and my family about 7 years ago. The family we got him from did not expect him to get as big as he did, but we were a big dog family and had other dogs he got along with. I am looking to rehome him as my work schedule is no longer allowing me to give him the time and attention he deserves. He is a pretty laidback guy, is affectionate, and is a bit of a goofball (the poodle personality is stronger than the lab with this one.). He has lived with younger children, teenagers, and other dogs. I have no idea how he would react to a cat.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.aka GrumblesAllow me to introduce you to Louis, a dashing 2-year-old Labrador mix weighing in at approximately 70 pounds. Louis is the embodiment of charm and warmth, making him an ideal addition to any loving home. One of Louis' standout qualities is his friendly disposition towards people. He's a social butterfly who's sure to win over the hearts of everyone he meets. Not only is he great with humans, but he also has a knack for getting along well with other dogs, making him a wonderful companion for furry friends. Louis is a well-behaved boy who has mastered the art of crate training and is known for snoozing peacefully through the night, ensuring a restful home environment. During his time in foster care, he flourished in a bustling household with a big family, including 5 children, 4 cats, and 5 dogs. Louis embraced the commotion and thrived in the midst of it all, showcasing his adaptability and affectionate nature. This lovable boy has a playful side too. He enjoys his toys and is always ready for a game of fetch or a fun outing. Louis is a great companion for outdoor adventures, excelling on walks and responding to simple commands with enthusiasm. It's important to note that Louis had a challenging past, enduring over four months of suffering from an untreated parasite. As a result, he developed a ravenous appetite and a tendency to guard his food and possessions. Although he's been treated for this condition, his food-related behaviors persist. Therefore, it's crucial for Louis to be in a home where food is carefully managed, not left out or accessible. He thrives when fed in his crate and when food-related activities are supervised. Louis is a remarkable dog who would excel in a structured and consistent environment. His past challenges have made him vigilant about food, but with the right care and understanding, he's ready for his "happily ever after" with a family who will provide the love and guidance he deserves. If you're looking for an amazing canine companion, Louis is ready to be your loyal and devoted friend.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 1:07 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. .  Grover would make the perfect companion for someone with an active lifestyle. He is the type of dog that needs regular outside exercise and play; his ideal caretaker should appreciate exploration and adventure as much as he does. Moving into the shed with a bigger yard has taken his love for running to a new level; you couldn’t catch him if you tried! Grover is well potty trained (NEVER soils his kennel) and—after EXTENSIVE treat-to-kennel.. However, his biggest wish is to be set free—he does NOT like to feel like he’s locked up. A durable chewy toy in his kennel is the best way to ease his mind when he is put up for the night.
