Story
ARROW - 3 years, 75lbs, Doodle, Neutered  This is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Thier Foster Parent Says: "Arrow is amazing so far. He doesn’t know his name at all. We have taken to calling him Row, but been more focused on trying to get him to listen to commands. Great temperament, very loving and cuddly, super friendly but chill attitude to both dogs and humans. Well-behaved but clearly not trained, and DEFINITELY not leash-trained (if he had ever been on a leash before arriving in NY, which is doubtful). He already responds to sit and will come when called, but when he has his mind set on something else, it is difficult to get his attention, even with treats. He is super smart though and already learning quickly. He doesn’t chew on anything while home alone—that said, we have made sure to not leave any open trash bins or food within reach. He certainly has big doodle energy and needs to let it out with long walks and playtime, but overall seems to be a very happy and relaxed boy. At 75 lbs, he is STRONG and walks fast, so anyone working with him will need to be able to handle that (see aforementioned leash training), haha. He will also not hesitate to sit right on top of you, but it’s worth it for the cuddles." INTERMEDIATE: This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty TrainedYes — Few or no accidents Comfy with strangers? Yep — Wants to be friends with everyone who walks by, super social butterfly, loves anyone who will stop to say hello. Comfortable with Children? (ALWAYS requires supervision) Yes for all ages — very gentle, low energy, tolerant, not mouthy Social with Other Dogs? Yes — Good with all other dogs (sizes, breeds, etc.) as far as we know and enjoys socializing with other caninesRespectful of Other Animals? (cats, small pets, etc.) Yes — Seems to get along with other animals, either tries to play with them or is mostly uninterested Mouthy Behavior? Past this point in life – Little to no interest in chewing on stuff or putting things in its mouth that aren’t food. Doesn’t try to chew on hands, feet, etc. during playtime, doesn’t wreck your stuff — only chews on appropriate things like dog toys and bones. Leash Manners? WTF is a Leash – Pulls hard. Zig zags like crazy. Has no idea how to walk on a leash. Getting the Hang of it – Probably hasn’t been on a leash much in its life but he/she is figuring it out. Might be a mild puller but responds to correction. Okay in the city? Yes — Seems unfazed by the sights and sounds, they may as well have been born here.Jumping on People to Say Hi? Medium – Jumps up only on people the dog knows when really excited. Stops with correction. Separation Anxiety? Nope – Completely fine being left home alone. Doesn’t cry or do anything shitty when you leave the apartment or house. Crate training? Not at all – Don’t even have one, I’ve puppy proofed and we free range.  Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake  How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. Story
Marshall is a ~10 year old labradoodle. He is about 60-65 lbs and is a tall, lanky boi. As far as I can tell, he is hypoallergenic (I'm not allergic to dogs). He doesn't shed at all. He was rehomed with me and my family about 7 years ago. The family we got him from did not expect him to get as big as he did, but we were a big dog family and had other dogs he got along with. I am looking to rehome him as my work schedule is no longer allowing me to give him the time and attention he deserves. He is a pretty laidback guy, is affectionate, and is a bit of a goofball (the poodle personality is stronger than the lab with this one.). He has lived with younger children, teenagers, and other dogs. I have no idea how he would react to a cat.

Story
Ember is a very energetic and fun medium sized pup (55lbs). She's young (1-2yrs) and vibrant and looking for a home where she can participate in family activities like hikes and walks and Netflix nights. She's as good of a snuggler as she is a jogging companion. Her fur is soft and fluffy and she is lower shedding but we CANNOT guarantee hypoallergenic. She is strong and requires a fit owner who can handle a large and active pup. She did have some matting that resulted in dry skin (hence the shaved spot) that was exmained by a vet who performed a skin scraping to ensure there was no mange or underlying condition (test results were negative). She should be kept on a high quality kibble with fish oil supplements. Ember is located in Houston TX and can be picked up there or we can discuss transport options. Her fee is $850. Meet and greets are done via video chat after an approved application has been submitted. Complete an application for her at recycleddogsrescue.org if interested!

Story
Howdy folks, my name is Luka, and I was one of 13 dogs and puppies living in a San Antonio Texas home when our owner passed away. Her grown daughter was surprised to find us all and reached out to 4 Little Paws Rescue for help, and they did! We all went to various foster homes, all vaccinated, all microchipped, the adults spayed/neutered, and now most of us are ready to find forever families! I am a handsome Labradoodle, about 2 years old, weigh 80.2 lbs and I’m a happy friendly boy with lots of energy for playing or activities and would LOVE to have a built-in doggy friend when I get adopted. I get along great with everyone, toddlers to senior citizens, big dogs and small dogs, playing gently with small dogs, and kindly with toddlers, always trying my best not to accidentally knock them over. My foster mom says I do everything with love and excitement and don't seem to realize how big I am! I live to play fetch and tug-o-war, and I love squeaky stuffed animals. I’m sweet and loving, not into kisses, but I love to sit by your feet and sleep under the bed at night. I’m well-behaved in a home, don't chew or guard anything, I’m housebroken, love going for walks, and always excited to go for a ride in the car. My future looks bright, and I am so looking forward to joining a wonderful family anywhere on the East Coast! Inquire about me today and bring me home! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Story
Meet Nevada! If you are looking for a true snuggle bug then here she is! Poor Nevada (previously named Nellie) must have had a rough life. She has scars all over her body but that does not change her inner beauty and she is a lovely, ~8 to 10 yrs. old medium-size mixed breed sweetheart. Nevada LOVES to play with her toys and will share them nicely with you. She takes food, treats, and toys gently, loves to sun-bathe in the play yard, and loves to go for walks. She is strong on the leash but loves her walks. Nevada knows some commands and is a willing participant. This girl wants nothing more than to relax in a quieter side home with adults or older children. Best as your one and only pet in the home and will shower you with love. Won't you please be her forever person or family? Please apply to adopt Nevada at Rescueridge.com and if your application is a possible match a volunteer will get back to you shortly.   Meet Alex and Nicki: Two Sweet 7-Year-Old Labradors in Need of a Forever Home! (This is a courtesy post on Rescue Ridge) Contact 732-275-4924 to learn more about how you can make Alex and Nicki a part of your family. These two lovely 7-year-old Labrador mixes, Alex and Nicki, are searching for a forever home where they can try to stay together and live out their golden years surrounded by love. They’ve spent their entire lives together, and now they need your help to keep it that way, if possible! About Alex & Nicki: Age: 7 years old, with hearts full of love! Health: The owner will have them vaccinated and heartworm tested before they join your family. Status: They’re ready to bring joy and companionship into your life. Alex and Nicki are in a temporary home right now, but it’s just that…temporary. These sweet girls deserve a permanent place to feel safe and loved for the rest of their lives. Ideally, they would love to find a home together, but two loving homes would be OK if necessary, too. Please Don’t Let Them End Up in a Shelter! They’ve been through so much together and don’t deserve to spend their final years in a shelter. Alex and Nicki will warm your heart, and all they ask in return is a loving home where they can stay together.
