Story
We are looking to rehome Lucy to a single person, preferably an experienced dog owner (or previous owner). She is a 3-year old Labradoodle, originally from a breeder in NH. We got her at 8 weeks and have spent a lot of time training her. She is very smart, is energetic and loves to play. She’s very athletic and will jump in the air to catch balls. She can also play catch and bring the ball back. She is shy, timid, and very good with other dogs (she’s cautious at first, but warms up). Although she’s very good with dogs, she’s not good with multiple people in the house. We have to rehome her since she’s getting inconsistent training/messages from our kids, and because she’s nervous, she’s lunged at the kids to give the message of “stay away.” This doesn’t work for our family. She needs a consistent message, firm direction from her new owner, and even additional training to build confidence (agility).

Story
This is Zayne! We picked him up from a shelter in Rhode Island where he was brought up from Mississippi where he was found under an overpass and is now living with us in New Hampshire. He is healthy, active and knows basic commands, loves long walks and loves to play, especially with toys. We are hoping to find him a more active home and family as we feel our one bedroom apartment doesnt fit to this sweet boys energy. He is lovable, cuddly, very cute and sweet, and I mean look at those ears!! He’s great with kids and dogs and seems like he would do well with cats if they are okay with dogs. We have everything he needs including a 36 pound bag of food, toys, a bed and crate, leashes, and food bowls that we can provide with him. He’s is up to date on all shots, microchipped, and spayed/neutered. If you are interested please fill out an application so he can find the family he deserves!! :)

Labrador Retriever German Shepherd Dog

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.FERN was born at the Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine, the night after we brought her mom, a pure bred German Shepherd Dog into our care. She was born on 21st September 2024 and has lived with her siblings, her mom and a few other teenage German Shepherd Dogs.   We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. FERN was spayed on 25 September, she is current on her vaccinations, although she will require her rabies as she is currently too young for that vaccine. She is microchipped and at the time of her spay surgery weighed 12.20 pounds. We do not know what breed she is mixed with, but can confidently say her mother is a German Shepherd Dog - RHEA and can be seen in the photos. FERN is a young pup and so her personality is in the early stages of development and so it will be the family and home environment that dictates how she behaves as she grows up. There is no reason for her to not be great around children of any ages, unless of course the child/ren make her fearful or hurt her. We do not have any age restrictions for families with children, but do expect responsible families in regards to both children and the pup and have 100% supervision when they are together. FERN will need a family that has the time and means to care for a pup, which includes training, socialization and explosing her to as many environments as possible, but in a way that she is comfortable, safe and happy. She is going to be a medium/large dog and so an active lifestyle is important as well as a family understanding the mental needs and intelligence of this kind of dog. We are looking for a family that understands she will be teething, she will be going through her "teenage" phase and will be a lot of work. Fern has an adoption fee of $550 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application.
