Story
Hello, Delilah is a playful and lovey dog, she loves belly rubs and treats. She is ultimately a very good dog and it breaks my heart but sadly she and her sister developed littermate syndrome, despite our best efforts we have not been able to reverse this. It is my opinion Delilah would do best in a home with NO other animals, or small children (under 10 years) she loves to run around and play outside so a yard for her would be necessary. She is fully potty trained, spayed, up to date on all shots and ready for her new forever home. She is somewhat leash trained but does pull a lot. Someone with prior experience with dogs would be best for her. We love her very much and want to see her go to a home she will be loved and adored. If you're interested fill out an application and I will reach out within 24 hours. Thank you!

Story
Meet Sprocket! Sprocket is a handsome and unique-looking Labradoodle who resembles a smaller Irish Wolfhound. This 1.5-year-old, 57-pound boy was found as a stray in Detroit and sadly was never reclaimed, but he is now safe and ready to find a family to call his own. Sprocket is a quiet, more reserved dog who may take a little time to warm up to new people and environments. Once he feels comfortable, his sweet and loyal personality really begins to shine. He has a calm presence but still enjoys staying active and would do best with a family that can provide regular exercise and engagement. In his foster home, Sprocket has done well with dogs his size and similar energy level, though he may be a bit much for smaller breed dogs. He has shown little interest in cats and could potentially live with dog-savvy cats with proper, slow introductions. Due to his size and demeanor, he would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children. Sprocket has a great foundation and has been working hard on his manners. He is crate trained, demonstrates a good understanding of house manners, knows basic commands, and rides well in the car. He is also quite intelligent and has learned how to open certain doors—especially sliding doors—which may explain how he ended up as a stray. Because of this, his future home will need to be mindful of keeping doors secure. Sprocket would thrive in an active home with either a securely fenced yard or a committed daily walking routine. He is not a good candidate for an invisible fence or tether system. As a Labradoodle, he will require regular grooming to keep his coat healthy and comfortable. Sprocket is a special dog with a gentle, thoughtful nature who is just waiting for the right family to help him fully come out of his shell. With patience, structure, and love, he will make a loyal and devoted companion. Sprocket is:Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and RabiesDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedScheduled for neuter surgery at our partner veterinary hospital.ADOPTION FEE: $375 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different. While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program. FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS. ##2687696##

Story
Meet Agave – A Sweet Survivor with a Soul Made of Gold Thrown from a moving vehicle and left broken on the expressway, Agave’s story could have ended in heartbreak. But this extraordinary girl chose to keep going. With a fractured pelvis, a fractured front leg, and unimaginable pain, she still looked to humans with hope. And today? She’s walking again. She’s healing. She’s beginning to trust that love won’t always hurt. Agave is as sweet as her name suggests—gentle, affectionate, and endlessly resilient. She’s the kind of dog who leans in for comfort, whose eyes speak volumes, and whose quiet strength will move you to tears. There’s something about her presence that makes you pause, breathe deeper, and feel lucky just to be near her. She’s made incredible progress through physical therapy and is blossoming into a playful, loving companion. She loves her walks and trots proudly at your side, soaking up every scent and every moment. She’ll gently chase after a ball and light up when she catches it—never too rowdy, always just happy to be included. Car rides are her jam. She gazes out the window, ears in the wind, as if she’s remembering how far she’s come. Agave gets along beautifully with most other dogs and has a soft spot for calm, structured homes. She’s mostly housebroken and does her best to communicate when she needs to go out. She knows basic commands, offers a paw when asked, and wants nothing more than to make her people proud. After everything she’s endured, Agave deserves a peaceful, predictable place to continue healing—ideally with women or older children who will give her the space and patience to feel safe. Loud, fast movements still worry her, especially from men, but she’s learning that love can be quiet, steady, and safe. Agave has survived the unthinkable, and yet she remains sweet, soft, and so full of love. Her story didn’t end on that expressway. It’s just beginning—and you could be the one to help her write the next chapter. Let Agave show you what it means to be brave. Let her remind you that sweetness can survive anything. Apply to foster or adopt and give this beautiful soul the home she’s always deserved. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home. Story
Brody had a rough start to life, I don't think he was given much time or handled kindly by his first owner - because of this he didn't know how great people can be, but he has worked very hard to build relationships and dog skills. He's immaculate in his kennel, no messes, loves enrichment - but will obliterate pillows, orthopedic beds and stuffies with exuberant glee 😬😬😬. So....I suggest we don't give him those. I'd say he's "mostly" good for walks - once you get in the flow, and he WORKS hard for that food. He loves people, loves to be petted, and will lay by your feet all day. Brody just wants to be by your side because he loves attention now that he trusts people and is a happy fellow. He will require a fenced yard, children over 13, no cats. If you want a loyal and lovable companion Brody is the perfect dog to meet! Fosters and adopters must live within an hour of metro Detroit. Birthdate 1-29-17
