Story
Meet Sawyer. A 1.5yr old labradoodle. He is a very loyal and kind guy. We adopted him and turns out he prefers a home with older children. We recommend 12yrs and older. We have a six year and he wants nothing to do with her. He is house trained and uses a bell to let you know when he needs to go outside. Fetching the ball is his favorite activity. He will get and bring it back to you. Dropping it at your feet. He does follows orders very well. He doesn’t run when off the leash and stays by my side. And loves to snuggles. He is a very good boy. The only issue is that he needs a home with older children. Which we didn’t know. Sawyer is a lover otherwise and also loves car rides.

Story
Giselle Giselle is a Female Doodle DOB: March 9, 2024 Adoption fee: $150.00 I have typical Labradoodle energy and behavior. I am learning to walk on a leash but will need to learn manners and boundaries. I am recommended for children 10 years and older. I get a bit overstimulated, and I jump a lot which could be overwhelming for younger children. I will require a physically fenced yard. I am sure to just go wherever my crazy doodle brain decides it wants me to go. I am very excitable in the shelter setting; I would do much better in a home atmosphere with less commotion. Pending a meet and greet I should do well with another dog with similar energy. With a slow acclimation, I should do okay with dog-friendly cats. I would do my best with someone with breed experience. With a calmer atmosphere, structure and daily exercise I will be a great companion for the right situation. If you are interested in being my adopter, please visit my shelter's website and complete the adoption application that is available there! HSSCM.org you can find the applications under the "adoptions" tab.

Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Hey there, I'm Skymir, your lively 1.5 year-old male black lab mix, weighing in at a solid 50 pounds. My tail never stops wagging, and my heart is as big as they come. I found myself alone in a southern shelter when I was just a puppy. I was so scared, but thankfully a kind rescuer scooped in to save me. Now I’m here in Michigan (being fostered near Coldwater) looking for my forever family!I live for those moments of butt wiggles and playful romps with my foster siblings. Chewing on a good, hard bone? It's my idea of heaven. My playful spirit shines through in everything I do, from chasing squirrels to snuggling up after a long day. I'm a quick learner, especially when treats are involved! Training sessions are my jam, and I'm always eager to please. Sometimes I get a bit too excited and might jump up, but with a little patience and guidance, I'll get the hang of it.At first, I might be a bit reserved, but give me some time, and I'll warm up to you in no time. Crisp mornings call for cuddles in my cozy crate, while sunny afternoons are perfect for basking in the warmth of the sun. I would thrive in a home with a FENCED-IN YARD where I can run and explore to my heart's content. Whether I'm playing with another dog or keeping an active family on their toes, I'm happiest when I have company.I’m fully-vetted, housebroken, crate-trained and ready to join your family with an adoption fee of $300. Ready to make me a part of your family?  For questions or to request an adoption application, shoot an email to projecthoperescue@gmail.com. I can’t wait to meet you! November 1, 2024, 6:27 pm

Story
Hi friends! My name is Ram, and I'm a handsome 2-year-old Lab mix who was rescued just in the nick of time. I'm a happy, 60-pound bundle of energy, known for my sloppy kisses, wiggle butts and endless curiosity. I have a beautiful black bronze coat that is very unique! I’m looking for my forever family to start making good memories with.I love to play and I would love another canine sibling to romp around with in a FENCED-IN YARD because I have a lot of energy! I'm great with older kids, but sometimes I get so excited that I jump up, which might be a bit much for the little ones. I can get along with cats too, with a slow introduction. I was a favorite amongst the shelter staff and my foster Mom says I'm one of the sweetest dogs she’s ever met.I've been learning my basic commands and how to be a good house pup. I’m pretty sure this is the first time I’ve ever been in a home, but I haven’t had a single accident, so I think it’s safe to say that I’m housebroken. I don't have any aggressive or destructive behavior and can even be trusted to be left out of my crate. I just want to be close to you, giving you hugs and kisses all the time.I'm fully-vetted and ready to find my forever home, with an adoption fee of $300. Questions about this handsome fella? Ready to bring me home? Email projecthoperescue@gmail.com. to get answers to your questions or to request an adoption application.  I'm so excited to meet you and share all the love and joy I have to offer!November 1, 2024, 6:27 pm

Story
Oh la la! My name is Paris and I’m a 7-month-old, 30lb black Lab mix and I’m tres to find my forever home! I was rescued from a culvert in Alabama with my siblings and being able to live in a home with a family is fantastic! I sleep all night in my crate, tell my family when I need to go outside, and I'm an excellent traveler in the car. I’m being fostered in Battle Creek, Michigan.I am incredibly curious and have a lot of energy, so my foster family is working with me on my manners (I'm pretty small and just want to see everything!) but I'm getting better everyday at sitting, laying down and not jumping on people to say hello. I'm still a little food insecure, so be careful of leaving food on the counter, but that also means I'm extremely food motivated - I'll do just about anything for a treat! I do have some anxiety around bath time, so my future family will need to work with me on that. I LOVE kids and I’m not very interested in cats.I’m fully-vetted and my adoption fee is $350. Questions about me? Ready to make me a part of your family? Email projecthoperescue@gmail.com. and request an adoption application. I can’t wait to meet you! I will definitely bring a lot of life, laughs, and love to your home!November 1, 2024, 6:27 pm
