Sadly, his owner passed away and this handsome young man is hoping to find a loving home again. Brody is used to the comforts of indoor living and is a friendly guy, both with humans and his fellow canines. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Meet Lauren! This adorable little girl is eagerly searching for her forever home. At around 8-9 weeks old and weighing just 4-6 pounds, she’s a delightful bundle of joy. We're guessing she's a Labradoodle mix, which means she'll likely bring lots of love and energy into your life. Please remember, while we do our best to provide accurate estimates of breed and age, we can’t guarantee them. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AWSH/Dog

Story
Hi! My name is Sammi. I am a really adorable pup, and I am just looking for my furever home! My sister and I were found on the side of the road. Our foster thinks we are labradoodles, possibly. I am about 10 weeks old (born around 8-2-24), weigh about 10 pounds, and I love dogs, cats and kids. I am doing so well with all of them in my foster home in South Carolina! I am spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, dewormed, current with all vaccines (as appropriate for my age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. I am all ready to be adopted :) My adoption fee is $450, and covers all of my vetting, and includes transport within the next two weeks, if my new family lives in the northeast USA. ***PLEASE DO NOT FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO ADOPT WITHIN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS**** Please visit https://www.apply.daybeforetherainbow.com/ to fill out an adoption application form or email my rescue at taryn@daybeforetherainbow.com! Palmer-Lab/Scruffy Terrier male, ~ 3 yr. (Nov. 2022) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for application. Palmer is a nice medium sized dog with a lot of personality. He's an active dog, who needs an experienced owner/family with an active lifestyle to keep him mentally and physically challenged. A home without small children and cats would be best. For our application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com Include your location and a phone number. The first step in our process is to submit an application for review. Story
Buddy-Labradoodle male, 2 yr. (Nov. 2024) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for application. Buddy came to Rescue when his family could no longer care for him. His life was in danger and a friend stepped in to care for him while we help him find a home. Buddy is the real deal. He's typical of his breed, smart and loyal. He's used to living in a family with another dog and with children. Cats are an unknown at this time. The new foster says he's medium to high energy which is normal for his age and breed. He'll enjoy an active lifestyle. Buddy is a medium/large dog, about 50 #. Buddy's adoption fee is $600 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. For our application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com Include your location and a phone number for future communication.

Story
Charming lives up to the name in nearly every way. He is a sweet 4-year-old lab mix, a great companion who follows me around, loves belly rubs, maintains a very regular eating and bathroom schedule, and sleeps with me. The problem is that Charming suffers from anxiety issues that cause him to be aggressive toward other dogs. Because of a biting incident involving my girlfriend's dog -- combined with the difficulty of walking him in a suburban area where we see dogs constantly -- I have to give him up. The shelter where I adopted him won't take him back and has scheduled a "behavioral euthanasia" for Wednesday, Oct. 30. I have been scrambling to find him a new home, but if I can't, I'm afraid I will have to go through with euthanasia even though it is tearing me up because I LOVE this dog. I feel that Charming can thrive in a situation where he has minimal contact with other dogs, perhaps a house with a big yard. That is what I'm seeking. He is a good soul -- and great with people!

Brody has since lived with six different foster dogs. Brody has found comfort in a regular routine.  He knows where he fits in.  He is a very affectionate and loving dog.  Oftentimes, black and darker colored dogs languish in shelters much longer than lighter colored dogs. There are a lot of reasons for this. Potential adopters often rely on a “first look” with photos rescues and shelters have provided online of individual dogs, and dark colored dogs are more difficult to photograph. Some people may have an aversion towards animals with dark coats based on superstition or personal belief systems. And some people think black and dark colored dogs look more menacing than they actually are because their dark faces make it harder to read their facial expressions.  Unfortunately, these stigmas translate into real-life adoption rates and a lack of interest in these beautiful pups who deserve homes.  TAKE A SECOND LOOK AT BRODY Home At Last Sanctuary, Inc. offers certified previously owned dogs to be perfectly matched lifetime companions.  Do you this Brody is that dog for you let is know . Brody's personal Webpage: Click or copy paste this link https://hals.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=19883451 Brody is a 4 year old mixed breed dog maybe a Labrador Retriever mix.  He weighs about 37 pounds, is healthy, active, and playful dog.  He likes attention and will snuggle in for giving and getting love and attention.   He is good with other dogs with proper introduction.  He would not likely do well with cats.   He has not been evaluated around children.  It does seem as like he would do will with children that is respectful of dogs boundaries and adequate supervision from adults. Brody has only just arrived and we will observe and report more information as it develops.
