Bono- could be 3 to 5 year old Flat-coated Labradoodle-- he sure has that happy-go-lucky doodle personality!! He does shed- so we really aren't sure. He was in an over-crowded shelter in Wichita, Kansas when I first learned about him. So far he is doing GREAT in temp foster care-- playful with the other dogs, ok with the cats, but great with kids. We would like to find him a happy-go-lucky super fun outgoing family in the Chicago area that could help with his spunky personality. Bono would benefit from daily walks and he absolutely needs a fenced in yard. If you have a fun playful dog in need of a buddy, Bono might be the dog you need!! Full transparency, Walter is a high needs dog with a bite history. He has bitten both owners, our child (1year old) and one guest. Walter is a 4 year old labradoodle purchased from a breeder as a puppy. He is sweet (most of the time), loves walks, chasing after a ball, seek and find games, and seek and destroy games. His high needs: -highly anxious. Loud noises, new people, etc. -resource guarding -reactive -sensitive to grooming (both professional and owner) -barks for attention -jumps when greeting -needs regimen/ schedule and lots of exercise for best behavior He knows all basic commands: sit, stay, down, roll, shake, come He loves kongs, destroying cardboard boxes, squeaky toys, walks and car rides. We are very sad to rehome him but cannot give him the attention he needs and do not want to live in fear he will bite our young child again. Most of his behavior is predictable if you are able to read his body language.

Story
Scooter was rehomed from a family out of state. He is a loving dog who loves to play. He is a little over a year and still learning his size, weighs 65lbs. He did not have much exposure as a pup, and needs a relaxed environment. He can have a lot of energy, and would need a yard. He loves to play, and cuddle. He can bark at strange noises and when he wants attention. However, is usually quiet in the crate unless he whines to signal that he needs to go. He would do best as an only dog and adult-only or no-children household. And since he is still learning his size, he may be best suited for an experienced adopter. He has a crate, toys, and food to take to a new home.

Story
Ember is a very energetic and fun medium sized pup (55lbs). She's young (1-2yrs) and vibrant and looking for a home where she can participate in family activities like hikes and walks and Netflix nights. She's as good of a snuggler as she is a jogging companion. Her fur is soft and fluffy and she is lower shedding but we CANNOT guarantee hypoallergenic. She is strong and requires a fit owner who can handle a large and active pup. She did have some matting that resulted in dry skin (hence the shaved spot) that was exmained by a vet who performed a skin scraping to ensure there was no mange or underlying condition (test results were negative). She should be kept on a high quality kibble with fish oil supplements. Ember is located in Houston TX and can be picked up there or we can discuss transport options. Her fee is $850. Her floppy ear, curly tail and sunny personality will always bring a smile to your face. Brittany (Britt for short) is approximately 9 months old (DOB approx 4/13/24) and weighs about 20 pounds. She most likely has a bit of lab, German Shepherd, with a touch of terrier, and a sprinkling of mystery mutt. (We do not DNA test). Britt is crate trained, house broken, microchipped, up to date on her shots and is learning basic commands. She loves playing outside with the other dogs in her foster’s home; chasing balls, playing tug, splashing in her water bowl and drinking from the hose. While she had played well with her foster siblings, she does need to be the only dog in her forever home. Britt has a lot of puppy energy and would probably do best with older kids who understand how to give her space when needed. Obedience training (to help Britt be her best self) and maybe some agility training (to challenge her) would be very beneficial. Brittany Ears can’t wait to find her forever home and share adventures with her forever family. His striking good looks are just the first thing you’ll notice about him, but his charm and personality are what you’ll be left remembering. He is instantly best friends with everyone he meets, and melts into a puddle on the floor if you give him pets or scratches. Tux isn’t just a pretty and charming face though, he is also really smart! He has been working on basic manners and tricks at his foster home, and has already learned sit, paw, boop, down, and crawl! He is crate trained, sleeps in a crate without a peep, and is working toward potty training (which he is getting the hang of quickly). He is also working on basic manners at his foster home, because he is still a young boy who has a lot of puppy energy and likes to jump up and can play a little rough when he gets excited. Tux has been happy playing with the other dog in his foster home and is enjoying every minute of that. He has not yet been exposed to kids, however at this stage we feel he would be best in a family with older kids.  As Tux is still a big (35 lb) puppy, he could accidentally knock over or trip a smaller child when he is excited or jumping.   The leash is also fairly new to him, but his skills are coming along nicely. Tux loves all things TOYS. Stuffy, squeaky, chewy, balls—he is a connoisseur of them all! He’s also a big fan of blankets, and will drag the ones he likes the most out of his crate and to other places in the house to lay on. As Tux is a puppy he will benefit from an adopter who will be committed to exercise , enrichment, future training and socialization, so this sweet boy can grow up into a great doggie adult! Tux’s adoption fee is $400.00 and includes his completed wellness visit, age appropriate vaccines.
