Story
Meet Summit, a gorgeous six-year-old, 48lb. F2B Labradoodle with a non-shedding coat and heart full of love to give. She is being surrendered to our rescue as she is no longer doing well with the children in the home now that the family’s baby is crawling and getting more into her space. As the situation is no longer safe, we would like to find Summit a new home quickly. This sweet and loyal girl thrives on affection and will happily stick by your side wherever you go. Whether you're enjoying a relaxing day at home or exploring the great outdoors, Summit is the perfect companion for all of life’s adventures. She loves hiking, playing fetch, and spending time in nature. Summit is incredibly smart and well-trained. She knows a variety of commands, including sit, lay down, stay, roll over, come, leave it, go potty, and her unique command "in the woods," which sends her off the grass to do her business. She’s both house and crate trained and is excellent off-leash, always returning when called. While she does pull on the leash, a "gentle lead" helps manage this behavior. She enjoys the company of male dogs and can coexist with some female dogs but hasn’t had experience with cats. Summit is wonderful with older children who are predictable but has shown aggression toward younger kids, which is why she’s looking for a new home where she can feel safe and confident. She has shown occasional resource-guarding behavior so you should have some level of dog experienced when applying. While Summit is non-shedding, she does require regular grooming to keep her coat maintained. This loving pup is protective of her family, making her a great companion for someone who appreciates her devotion. If you’re searching for an affectionate, active, and well-trained dog to join your home, Summit could be your perfect match! She’ll bring endless love, loyalty, and joy for years to come! Her adoption fee is $400 and Summit is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed. She does have environmental allergies, so she is on aboquel daily. Story
What a young and silly boy sporting a wiry goatee! Tucker is a 2 year old Labradoodle and he is looking for his new family. He has traded in outdoor farm life for indoor living and thinks it is really swell. Initially he is a little hesitant about meeting new people, but a treat in hand helps him forget his fear and he is happy to meet new people. He fostered in a home with multiple dogs, but we have found that when he is one of two dogs, he tries to protect his new family from the other dog so we prefer to place him in an only dog home. He is hesitant about getting in a car, but once he is in, he is a great rider and seems to enjoy it. He is a very large boy and currently weighs 70#s He is very happy to hang around the house and get pets or to go out in the fenced yard and poke around while is foster mom does yard work. While we are not up to speed on all of the nomenclature for doodles, we do know his mother was the lab and his father was the poodle. His hair is actually great as it is wavy and wiry, but not the grooming nightmare of most doodles. If you have an active family and are looking for a doodle with a great personality that does not have the crazy grooming needs of the curly coats, Tucker may be just the guy for you. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Darla is a sweet fun loving girl. She has typical shepherd markings on a sturdy lab body. She is shy and a bit timid at first, especially with men, but after about 3 days, her charming, fun personality emerges. She's the perfect mix of chill and playful. Her German Shepherd line means she's going to bond with you and her family. She is especially fond of women and would do fantastic with a single woman who wants a dog that will alert to dangers. She'll be right there wherever you go in the house. Darla knows some basic commands like sit, shake, sit up, and is pretty good about staying. She loves to play with dogs similar to her size and loves playing outside.. okay she just loves to play. She loves squeaky toys, though they won't last long! She also needs tough chew toys. Darla is house-trained, rides well in a car, and will sleep in a crate all night, if the crate is in your bedroom. She would prefer to sleep on a dog bed, in your room, and not make a peep. Darla is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She is heartworm negative and waiting for her forever home. Darla is fostered in North Alabama but is available to other animals via transport. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, is heartworm negative and on preventatives. Apply at https:/forrescue.net

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
If you are looking for a companion dog Phoebe is your girl. Her fur is soft and she will soak up any attention you can give her, even if it is just being snuggled next to you on the couch. She loves long walks, she gets so excited when she realizes it's time to put on her harness and go! She loves car rides, but does get sick on winding roads. She loves pup cups and basically any treat that she is offered. She LOVES to be with her humans. She is smart and will need mental and physical stimulation. She does have some anxiety but is doing very well with medication and training. She will go into her crate when you leave but prefers to run free. She would do really well with a stay at home or work from home household. She is working with a trainer to discover better coping skills for when she is alone.. She does well with younger and older dogs and we can talk about older cats (have not tested kittens). She is completely housetrained.
