Story
Maui is a beautiful, sweet, and silly 100lb Double Doodle (her wisdom panel shows 45% Labrador Retriever, 32% Golden Retriever, 22% Poodle, and 1% Flat-Coated Retriever). She came to SPAR facing life and death, having to undergo her second gastrointestinal surgery. She luckily pulled through the surgery and the weeks of recovery. She had previously had a foreign body removal 6 months prior as a puppy. Maui is looking for a special home. Having already used two (or more) of her spare lives, her body cannot afford another foreign body removal or gastrointestinal surgery. She cannot have access to any toys or anything left out she can chew on (blankets, dog beds, her leash, plastic dog bowls, etc). She sleeps in her kennel at night and is great around other dogs of all sizes. She is learning about cats in her current foster home and might be okay around dog-savvy cats. She would be okay in a home with older kids that understand the safety concerns of leaving things out where Maui can get into them. She has decent leash manners and enjoys going on walks. She is very smart and would love to take additional obedience classes to bond more with her new family. Maui also has already had an incisional gastropexy, so no future risks of GDV, or “bloat”. If you are interested in meeting Maui, please complete the adoption application. We go through a multi-step process for our dogs that includes meeting at the fosters home, a home inspection, and reference checks.

Story
Hi there! My name is Aja and this is probably the most difficult thing I’ll have to do, but I am looking to re-home my fur babies. I will be moving to New York in about a year and wanted to give ample time to this process so I can ensure they find the right home(s). Here is a little information about each dog. I would prefer, but don’t require that they go to the same home. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Hubble * Breed: Labradoodle * Age: 4 years old (Birthday 7/13/21) * Size= 50 pounds * Personality= Very Cuddly, Very loyal, Active, Playful * Things to keep in mind:Needs daily exercise, Has allergies (fixed by cytopoint shot with yearly vaccines), Has Rx food for allergies (Hill’s Science z/d kibble), Likes people, but barks at first

These pups are in San Jose, California too!

Story
We rescued Astro from the Milpitas humane society some time last year when he was just a puppy. Astro is a roller coaster of fun and learning experiences. He is a very good boy indoors with all kinds of tricks up his sleeve wether its setting up between your legs ready to walk with you through the busy streets or keeping eye contact till he gets his treat! If you want a lil challenge in your life come say hi! Unfortunately we don’t have enough time on our hands to spend with Astro due to something that’s been taking most of our time and we’ve noticed it’s been affecting Astro slowly but surely. We want him to have the freedom and the attention any dog deserves like long walks outside so he can get used to the world , he can be a little rowdy when we are on walks such as when he notices something in the distance and he’s adamant on figuring out what it is or when he sees another dog . Astro is coachable and he is friendly after the first interaction!

Story
Mango is a delightful Poodle mix with a heart full of affection and energy. He is incredibly playful and can never have enough balls and he absolutely loves running around and playing. Mango is also a big fan of giving unlimited sweet kisses and is a very affectionate companion. Rehoming Mango is the hardest decision I ever had to make. I want nothing but the best for him, and doing this out of love and concern for his well-being. He truly deserves a safe, nurturing, and loving forever home. What He Needs: Mango is looking for an experienced adopter who can provide a calm, understanding environment. He is reactive at times and gets a bit scared by loud noises, so a patient and loving home is essential. Ideal Home: Mango would thrive with someone who has experience with reactive dogs and can offer consistent training and positive reinforcement. He's a loving, playful pup who deserves the best. Adoption fee is to ensure a committed, experienced home. Fee may be flexible.
