Story
Maui is a beautiful, sweet, and silly 75lb Double Doodle (her wisdom panel shows 45% Labrador Retriever, 32% Golden Retriever, 22% Poodle, and 1% Flat-Coated Retriever). She came to SPAR facing life and death, having to undergo her second gastrointestinal surgery. She luckily pulled through the surgery and the weeks of recovery. She had previously had a foreign body removal 6 months prior as a puppy. Maui is looking for a special home. Having already used two (or more) of her spare lives, her body cannot afford another foreign body removal or gastrointestinal surgery. She cannot have access to any toys or anything left out she can chew on (blankets, dog beds, her leash, plastic dog bowls, etc). She sleeps in her kennel at night and is great around other dogs of all sizes. She is learning about cats in her current foster home and might be okay around dog-savvy cats. She would be okay in a home with older kids that understand the safety concerns of leaving things out where Maui can get into them. She has decent leash manners and enjoys going on walks. She is very smart and would love to take additional obedience classes to bond more with her new family. Maui also has already had an incisional gastropexy, so no future risks of GDV, or “bloat”. If you are interested in meeting Maui, please complete the adoption application. We go through a multi-step process for our dogs that includes meeting at the fosters home, a home inspection, and reference checks.

Story
Mr. Simba is a dapper 7 month old Labradoodle. He is still a young pup full of energy. He was in a home for several months where he was trained to bark at the door to go potty outside and sleep through the night, and he was taught commands such as "sit," "shake," "bed," and "lay down." So he already has a good foundation to be a wonderful house dog, or for any further training. He had to be rehomed due to his family moving, so they brought him here so he could find his new forever home. He was around a dog, cats, and a bird while he was living there, and he thought they were all best friends. He loved to cuddle with the dog and play with the cats. He is used to monthly grooming due to his Doodle coat, so his new owner will need to keep up with it so he doesn't get matted as Doodles are prone to. He enjoys a car ride and his favorite thing to do is play with toys and fetch with rubber balls (no cloth ones or rope - silly guy will try to eat it!). His vaccines have been updated and he was microchipped. We will neuter him before he leaves to his new home. $400.00 adoption fee. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Cuddly PalRodrick is a 45lb Lab/Weimaraner mix. Rodrick is such a sweet pal of a dog! He loves playing with his 4-legged sister, watching sports while snuggling on the couch, taking walks in the neighborhood and local parks, long car rides, and hanging out while his foster dad works on his computer.   He has learned that "Sit" is a great default position and he is working on learning his name for recall as well as "Place" and "Down". Rodrick is an enthusiastic learner and shines as he strives to please his human friends!   We do not know why Rodrick landed in the shelter, but he is still learning to be trusting of the world and of strangers. Moments of chaos or surprising appearances of unknown people are very stressful for Rodrick. While on leash he is also unsure about other dogs, bicycles, skateboards or runners. He is working with his foster dad and a trainer to work on his reactivity and learn to trust new people and has made good progress in the past month.   Rodrick is seeking a home where there is some predictability and a calm environment. He connects deeply with a few people, and needs slow introductions to new people. SVPP is working with a trainer and helping Rodrick to learn that he can be safe when the unexpected happens. Continuing training support will be provided to his adopter. Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.   Adoption fees for dogs: http://www.svpetproject.org/info/adoption Stay up-to-date on what our dogs are up to by following us on Facebook!  https://www.facebook.com/svpetproject SVPP thanks Alec Khanna photography for assistance in taking photos of our adoptable pets.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 7:25 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Happy boy loves toys!Wally is a 7ish year-old, 14 pound Poodle mix. Sweet Wally loves living with other small dogs! He loves the company and gains confidence in their company. This special boy is still working through some medical issues, but he has made great strides in his foster home and has been doing very well - he was even brave enough to get groomed recently! Wally can find meeting new people to be stressful, especially strangers entering his home or strange dogs while he is out and about on leash. He and his foster mom are currently working with a trainer to help Wally navigate these scary situations and a few sessions with the trainer will be provided to his adoptive family to help make his transition smooth. Once you are in his pack? Wally is all smiles and love! If you have a small pack who needs a second or third to make your home complete, please consider sweet Wally and fill out an application to meet this special little boy! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bonded with MochaLeila is a 5 year-old, 8 pound, unspayed Poodle mix. Leila and her brother, Mocha, sadly lost their momma recently and their grandma was not able to care for them long-term. She is bonded to her brother and will be adopted out to the right home with him. Of the pair, Leila is actually the independent one! She is happy to sit on the couch next to her human, but does not want to be held all the time. On walks, she is the more adventurous of the pair, often ready to keep going while Mocha is ready to go home :-) They are settling into their foster home and are doing very well so far! Leila is scheduled for her spay surgery and will be ready for her forever home very soon!
