Story
Maui is a beautiful, sweet, and silly 75lb Double Doodle (her wisdom panel shows 45% Labrador Retriever, 32% Golden Retriever, 22% Poodle, and 1% Flat-Coated Retriever). She came to SPAR facing life and death, having to undergo her second gastrointestinal surgery. She luckily pulled through the surgery and the weeks of recovery. She had previously had a foreign body removal 6 months prior as a puppy. Maui is looking for a special home. Having already used two (or more) of her spare lives, her body cannot afford another foreign body removal or gastrointestinal surgery. She cannot have access to any toys or anything left out she can chew on (blankets, dog beds, her leash, plastic dog bowls, etc). She sleeps in her kennel at night and is great around other dogs of all sizes. She is learning about cats in her current foster home and might be okay around dog-savvy cats. She would be okay in a home with older kids that understand the safety concerns of leaving things out where Maui can get into them. She has decent leash manners and enjoys going on walks. She is very smart and would love to take additional obedience classes to bond more with her new family. Maui also has already had an incisional gastropexy, so no future risks of GDV, or “bloat”. Story
We have had Willow since he was a puppy, and he is now 1-year old! He has had extensive professional training, and it very well behaved. He is very playful, friendly and loves to run. He is a beautiful purebred, and has spent time with several small dogs, and three cats. He is great with our 6-year old and toddlers. Sadly, we don;t have the bandwidth to give him all the attention he needs. Looking for a great home, preferably with a yard for him, and active family. Just in time for the holidays! He currently resides in Los Angeles, and willing to travel to his new home!

This is Diesel! I unexpectedly rescued him from someone I know. He was living in a small kennel for about 2 years before I took him in. He is 3-4 years old. He is a sweet boy, house trained and listens well. He gets along with my border collie, and tolerates my puppy, although he definitely does not like all of her energy. He is great with my 8 and 12 year old sons, and has been around smaller children with no issues, although I’ve never witnessed that myself. The reason I am rehoming him is because he does not like cats (I have 4) or other small animals. I have chickens and indoor cats so he can only come inside when I have them in another room. He deserves the best life and he is a great dog. He needs a home with no cats or small animals. He would be great as the only dog. He is very calm, and when he comes inside, he just lays around and wants love. I also have his breed DNA result upon request. **Meet Buddy this Saturday, November 23rd from 11:00 to 1:00 at Dublin Petsmart West, 6960 Amador Plaza Rd.** Buddy is a 2 -year-old, 64-pound, male, black Lab mix now in foster care. He is fully housebroken and sleeps through the night. He is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Buddy was apparently dumped in Livermore and ran loose for at least six weeks before he was trapped and brought to the shelter. He was too scared to be put up for adoption, but his (now) foster parents took him out for walks over the next month and established enough trust with him to bring him home to live with them. Buddy lives with 50-lb hound and a small Chihuahua who often bosses him around, and he has never yet met a dog he doesn't like- he has even started to play with some of his "furpals. He has taken multiple rides up to the mountains and rides well in the car. Although he currently lives with a six-year-old child, he would do best in a quiet household with minimum "comings and goings. He is calm and gentle with his foster daddy but still very shy with strangers.
