Story
Hello, meet Benito aka Bubba:) Benito is a 4 year old, more or less Labradoodle and Wirehaired Pointer. He was found with his hair so tangled that we had to give him a very short hair cut. Accidently the groomer at that event who did his hair cut; his ears accidently because the ears were so damaged by the hair. So he is missing a small piece on both ears. He is very calm; not a barker, if you put him in crate is like he doesn't exist. He is such a good boy, very easy going - gets along with all dogs - not sure about cats as we have not fostered him around cats. He loves to go for walks and loves car rides:) He is very submissive - not aggressive that all. He is being fostered with other 20 dogs, of all sizes and ages:) He will give you a hand shake - well a paw shake:) He will make a wonderful addition to any family or a solo person who loves a calm dog. Benito is a survivor of Distemper - this means he will never get the disease again and he can life up to 15 years old of life as some of our survivors have done:) Are you ready to give him a forever home? Story
Adoption Event: Please let us know if you want this beauty to be at our semi-monthly adoption event by texting us at 619-576-0747 Our sweet Dalila is a female 50 pounds rescued girl, who loves to run and play fetch!! . Dalila is an ideal medium size, has a nice coat, low shedding and semi-hypoallergenic as she is a mixed of Labradoodle and German Shorthaired Pointer and Border Terrier. Hard to find a medium to large size low shedding-hypoallernic rescued pets due that the majority are small breeds:) She will be ideal for any family. However, an active family will be ideal for her sweet and playful temperament. She is good with people and children, and currently being fostered with another 18 dogs:) She will need basic training such as basic commands and to be leashed trained as she has been at the sanctuary running free but goes to a crate in the evenings to sleep - therefore, she is crate trained as well :) Not sure about how she is with cats but she is a pup still and trainable. Are you ready to give her a forever home? Story
Hi, I'm Freddie. I'm a handsome and regal looking 4 yr. old, 73 lb. black lab mix. I'm playful, friendly and affectionate. In spite of all my great qualities, I spent over a year in a shelter before SPOT rescued me (Black dogs and large breeds frequently get unfairly passed over by adopters for some reason) I love toys of all kinds and enjoy chasing a ball. I still haven't quite mastered that part about bringing it back! I get along great with other dogs and people. Unfortunately, cats, not so much. Since coming to SPOT, I have worked with a trainer to develop my leash manners and to follow basic commands. I would like to learn even more, if my new family will work with me. (Just to make sure I get off on the right track, SPOT will provide refresher sessions with my Trainer. I recently had some surgery to fix my leg and its all better.I love my daily brisk walks and romps in the backyard. Since I am a big strong dog, you should probably have experience with bigger dogs. Freddie is a dog who, more than anything deserves a second chance! He will reward that lucky family who adopts him with a lifetime of love and loyalty. Could you be that family? If you think you might, please fill out an application so we can arrange for you to meet Freddie. Freddie's Adoption fee is $300 and includes neuter, microchip and current vaccinations. Story
How this pet arrived: Rocky was brought in by his previous owner on April 10, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Rocky, a shy but sweet boy looking for his new home. Rocky was kept outside without much socialization in his previous home, so he's still discovering how wonderful new human friends can be! Rocky adores treats and thrives on gentle care and patience. He's looking for a calm and quiet home where he can continue to blossom. Due to his sensitive nature, Rocky would do best in a household with older children (over the age of 6) who understand his need for gentle interactions. Make sure to bring along the entire household so that we can ensure a good fit! If you're ready to open your heart and home to this pup deserving of love and comfort, come meet Rocky and we will even send you home with his leash and collar!Shy/Fearful Dog: Rocky requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about him. Story
Meet 2 year old Bobby!!! He is handsome, affectionate, playful and sweet once he knows and trusts you. Initially, he can be quite shy. Bobby loves nothing more than to be close to his human family getting lots of attention. he does well with other dogs once he knows and trusts them and would love to have another dog in the home. Bobby may even be good with cats as he does not even chase the rabbits in the yard. Bobby does have some separation anxiety and would do best in a home with someone always around. Bobby's adoption fee is $350and includes his neuter, microchip and current vaccinations.
