Story
This is Diesel! I unexpectedly rescued him from someone I know. He was living in a small kennel for about 2 years before I took him. He is a sweet boy, house trained and listens well. He gets along with my border collie, and tolerates my puppy, although he definitely does not like all of her energy and has put her in her place on occasion. He is great with my 8 and 12 year old, and has been around smaller children with no issues, although I’ve never witnessed that myself. The reason I am rehoming him is because he does not like cats (I have 4) and he has killed 2 of my chickens. I have indoor cats so he can only come inside with I have them in a room for their safety. He deserves the best life because other than his high prey instinct, he is a great dog. He needs a home with no cats or small animals. He would be great as a the only dog or with other calm big dogs. He’s very calm, and when he comes inside, he just lays around and wants love.

Story
Maui is a beautiful, sweet, and silly 75lb Double Doodle (her wisdom panel shows 45% Labrador Retriever, 32% Golden Retriever, 22% Poodle, and 1% Flat-Coated Retriever). She came to SPAR facing life and death, having to undergo her second gastrointestinal surgery. She luckily pulled through the surgery and the weeks of recovery. She had previously had a foreign body removal 6 months prior as a puppy. Maui is looking for a special home. Having already used two (or more) of her spare lives, her body cannot afford another foreign body removal or gastrointestinal surgery. She cannot have access to any toys or anything left out she can chew on (blankets, dog beds, her leash, plastic dog bowls, etc). She sleeps in her kennel at night and is great around other dogs of all sizes. She is learning about cats in her current foster home and might be okay around dog-savvy cats. She would be okay in a home with older kids that understand the safety concerns of leaving things out where Maui can get into them. She has decent leash manners and enjoys going on walks. She is very smart and would love to take additional obedience classes to bond more with her new family. Maui also has already had an incisional gastropexy, so no future risks of GDV, or “bloat”. If you are interested in meeting Maui, please complete the adoption application. We go through a multi-step process for our dogs that includes meeting at the fosters home, a home inspection, and reference checks.

Story
Meet Cash, a 72 pound Black Lab mix who needs a place to call home. Cash was found wandering in a neighborhood in Stockton, but so far no one has claimed. Based on his teeth, he appears to be between 2 and 3 years of age. He is a nice boy to our staff here. We don't have a history of Cash, so we are unable to say if he is potty trained or if he lived with other pets. He has good energy so will likely be a fun pup when he gets to his new home. We have updated him with vaccinations and he will be neutered and microchipped before leaving the shelter. $300.00 for this sweet guy. Story
This little girl is part of a litter of 4 cute balls of fluff. We were told they were mixed breed, so their new owners might want to do a doggie DNA test to find out their true mix. :) Our guess is there is some Black Labrador or Chow Chow in there. She is a cutie patootie that is playing hard with her siblings and eating well. She will grow into a medium to large dog when she's an adult. They have been given first shots and de-wormer here and will be spayed on 12/3 and can leave the following day. They are chipped as well. $350.00 adoption helps with all the costs.
