Story
Maui is a beautiful, sweet, and silly 75lb Double Doodle (her wisdom panel shows 45% Labrador Retriever, 32% Golden Retriever, 22% Poodle, and 1% Flat-Coated Retriever). She came to SPAR facing life and death, having to undergo her second gastrointestinal surgery. She luckily pulled through the surgery and the weeks of recovery. She had previously had a foreign body removal 6 months prior as a puppy. Maui is looking for a special home. Having already used two (or more) of her spare lives, her body cannot afford another foreign body removal or gastrointestinal surgery. She cannot have access to any toys or anything left out she can chew on (blankets, dog beds, her leash, plastic dog bowls, etc). She sleeps in her kennel at night and is great around other dogs of all sizes. She is learning about cats in her current foster home and might be okay around dog-savvy cats. She would be okay in a home with older kids that understand the safety concerns of leaving things out where Maui can get into them. She has decent leash manners and enjoys going on walks. She is very smart and would love to take additional obedience classes to bond more with her new family. Maui also has already had an incisional gastropexy, so no future risks of GDV, or “bloat”. If you are interested in meeting Maui, please complete the adoption application. We go through a multi-step process for our dogs that includes meeting at the fosters home, a home inspection, and reference checks.

Story
Mr. Simba is a dapper 7 month old Labradoodle. He is still a young pup full of energy. He was in a home for several months where he was trained to bark at the door to go potty outside and sleep through the night, and he was taught commands such as "sit," "shake," "bed," and "lay down." So he already has a good foundation to be a wonderful house dog, or for any further training. He had to be rehomed due to his family moving, so they brought him here so he could find his new forever home. He was around a dog, cats, and a bird while he was living there, and he thought they were all best friends. He loved to cuddle with the dog and play with the cats. He is used to monthly grooming due to his Doodle coat, so his new owner will need to keep up with it so he doesn't get matted as Doodles are prone to. He enjoys a car ride and his favorite thing to do is play with toys and fetch with rubber balls (no cloth ones or rope - silly guy will try to eat it!). His vaccines have been updated and he was microchipped. We will neuter him before he leaves to his new home. $400.00 adoption fee. Please visit our website www.petsnpals.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Story
Kam is 9 years old and is such a sweet boy. He is very high energy and loves to play with people and other dogs but also loves a good snuggle on your lap. My husband and I recently started traveling for work and we have tried taking him along with us over the last couple years but the change in routine and long schedules (I am a nurse and my husband is an business owner) has terribly increased his separation anxiety. Kam could use a loving and stable home. We adopted him in 2016 and he was already microchipped and neutered. He is up to date on all his vaccines. He is house trained and crate trained. We are helping Kam's current guardian to rehome him. Please fill out our online application and we will forward to them. Adoption fee would be minimum $100 donation to Furry Friends Rescue. If you have specific questions please send them through and we will put you in touch with his current guardian.November 4, 2024, 2:12 pm

Story
Louie was found back in March 2024 emaciated and terrified wandering the streets. After offering him food he allowed himself to be carried to his new foster home where he was treated for fleas ticks and worms. Since then he has been neutered chipped and vaccinated. Although he is slow to trust new people and situations he has opened up so much and is such a goofy sweet and funny guy. He loves playing with his toys and his ideal day is to just be at home with his foster people and their dogs. He absolutely loves other dogs big and small! He knows sit stay come here go lay down and give me kisses. He's potty trained and kennel trained (he has been known to get into a bit of puppy mischief when left unsupervised for extended periods of time). We are working on building his confidence in public because due to his early trauma from life on the streets and most likely abuse/neglect from humans he can get very nervous/shy in unfamiliar settings especially loud situations. He does love routine riding in the car and tends to do pretty well on hikes/beach adventures. When he was found he was 15 lbs and now is 45 lbs. He hasn't gotten much taller (he's kind of short and long) and isn't expected to. We think he is around 8 months old now and probably a lab/pit/? mix. Although he hasn't had direct contact with kids or cats he doesn't react when passing on walks. He does take a few days to trust new people and tends to vocalize his insecurity but is a pretty quick learner and shows no signs of aggression of any kind. With a calm environment and some patience there is no doubt that Louie will make a warm addition to his new household! We are helping Louie's current guardian to rehome him. Please fill out our online application and we will forward to them. Adoption fee would be minimum $100 donation to Furry Friends Rescue. If you have specific questions please send them through and we will put you in touch with his current guardian.November 4, 2024, 2:12 pm
