Story
Hello, meet Benito aka Bubba:) Benito is a 4 year old, more or less Labradoodle and Wirehaired Pointer. He was found with his hair so tangled that we had to give him a very short hair cut. Accidently the groomer at that event who did his hair cut; his ears accidently because the ears were so damaged by the hair. So he is missing a small piece on both ears. He is very calm; not a barker, if you put him in crate is like he doesn't exist. He is such a good boy, very easy going - gets along with all dogs - not sure about cats as we have not fostered him around cats. He loves to go for walks and loves car rides:) He is very submissive - not aggressive that all. He is being fostered with other 20 dogs, of all sizes and ages:) He will give you a hand shake - well a paw shake:) He will make a wonderful addition to any family or a solo person who loves a calm dog. Benito is a survivor of Distemper - this means he will never get the disease again and he can life up to 15 years old of life as some of our survivors have done:) Are you ready to give him a forever home? Story
Adoption Event: Please let us know if you want this beauty to be at our semi-monthly adoption event by texting us at 619-576-0747 Our sweet Dalila is a female 50 pounds rescued girl, who loves to run and play fetch!! . Dalila is an ideal medium size, has a nice coat, low shedding and semi-hypoallergenic as she is a mixed of Labradoodle and German Shorthaired Pointer and Border Terrier. Hard to find a medium to large size low shedding-hypoallernic rescued pets due that the majority are small breeds:) She will be ideal for any family. However, an active family will be ideal for her sweet and playful temperament. She is good with people and children, and currently being fostered with another 18 dogs:) She will need basic training such as basic commands and to be leashed trained as she has been at the sanctuary running free but goes to a crate in the evenings to sleep - therefore, she is crate trained as well :) Not sure about how she is with cats but she is a pup still and trainable. Are you ready to give her a forever home? Story
Oreo currently in a home with a beagle and German Sheperd mix (who we also got from the same shelter as Oreo, and were both on the same euthanasia list). Oreo loves any type of walk (short/long). He is very mellow, humble, well behaved, and listens to commands. He knows how to shake both paws and sits/goes to his crate when told so. Goes potty when told so. He avoids conflict. He is non-reactive towards other dogs when other dogs bark at him. He loves car rides. He loves his crate and likes to be alone or with people. He doesn't get separation anxiety. He is a perfect, healthy dog who needs his furever home.

Story
How this pet arrived:Chrome was brought in as a stray. Here is an update from the foster:Chrome settled in wonderfully and making great strides in the foster home. She's became comfortable coming and going from the backyard on her own and even heads back inside without prompting-a big step for her confidence! While she still gets easily startled by certain indoor sounds (like the TV or dishwasher) and outdoor noises (like motorcycles or honking), she adjusted well. Chrome has bonded nicely with her foster's dogs, suggesting she might thrive in a home with another active, playful dog. When left alone, Chrome adjusted well to free-roaming the house, settling in without signs of nervousness. She's even graduated to having free range at night, sleeping quietly without any issues. Chrome is did fantastic overall, and her foster believes she would do well with either a single-person adopter or a family with a dog friend to help her keep blossoming! At SDHS:Chrome has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Interested in adopting Chrome, please email ,escadoptions@sdhumane.org Primary Color: Black Weight: 41 Age: 7yrs 6mths 3wks
