Every great story has a hero, and in this tale of fluffy royalty, Jaguar is the last cub standing. At just 11 weeks old, this Chow Chow prince is the final member of the Pride litter still searching for his forever home. His siblings have all trotted off to their kingdoms, leaving him as the reigning ruler of puppyhood, ready to find his own royal family. But don’t let that fool you—Jaguar is no sad, forgotten pup. He is the grand finale, the showstopper, the puppy equivalent of saving the best for last. With his boundless energy, goofy personality, and undeniable charm, he’s ready to turn your home into his very own savannah playground. Jaguar is the class clown of the Pride litter. He’s the one who finds the biggest toy in the room and drags it around like a trophy, making sure everyone sees his accomplishment. He’s the pup who pounces on shadows, chases his tail like he just discovered it exists, and flops dramatically when he doesn’t get enough attention. He’s got that classic Chow Chow confidence—he struts rather than walks, surveys rather than simply looks, and occasionally decides that bath time is beneath him (don’t worry, he can be bribed with treats). He’s a fluffy ball of mischief wrapped in pure love, and he’s waiting for the perfect family to give him the adventure he deserves. A day in Jaguar’s world is a masterpiece of puppy chaos and cuddles. He wakes up with a dramatic stretch and a big yawn, ready to tackle the day. Breakfast is at 7 AM, and he takes his meal very seriously—after all, a future king needs his fuel. After that, it’s time for the morning zoomies, where he sprints around like a tiny lion on the hunt (except his prey is usually a squeaky toy or a rogue sock). By mid-morning, he’s following his humans from room to room, making sure they don’t get lost (because clearly, they need his supervision). Around noon, it’s nap time—preferably at your feet, but if he can sneak onto the couch, even better. Afternoons are for adventure. Jaguar is always curious about the world, whether that means sniffing every single leaf outside, wrestling with a stuffed animal twice his size, or learning new tricks (he’s treat-motivated, so training is a breeze). Evenings are all about winding down with a cuddle session—yes, this playful pup also has a soft side. He’ll happily snooze next to you after a long day of important puppy business, dreaming of his future home and all the love he’s about to receive. Jaguar is loyal, loving, and endlessly entertaining. He’s looking for a family who’s ready to embrace the puppy energy, laugh at his silly antics, and enjoy the snuggly, devoted companion he’ll grow into. If you’re looking for a pup who will keep you on your toes, make you smile every day, and love you with his whole fluffy heart—Jaguar is your guy. Come meet the last (and greatest) of the Pride, and get ready to fall in love! The Pride puppies are only an option for homes who have owned a dog of their own in the last 5 years. Kids should be over the age of 7 unless they currently live with a Chow. February 15, 2025, 11:01 pm

If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $700 *Lioness is an option for Foster-to-Adopt!*    Lioness is a 1 year old Chow Chow ready to find her pride and live her best life! Lioness arrived at our rescue with her 2 week old safari puppies. She was an amazing mom to her boys and now that they are grown up she is ready to find a forever home of her own. Lioness has a gorgeous fluffy coat, that classic black tongue, and an absolutely magnificent mane. Lioness is ready to hit the block with her new humans so come on down to the DPS Zoo today!       Lioness is your typical chow: loyal, playful and always happiest when she is with her people. She is energetic and fun-loving with her humans. She loves her plush toys and has a favorite racoon that she carries everywhere with her. Lioness is very smart and food motivated which has made training sessions a blast for everyone involved. She would love a bed near a large window so she can watch the world go by. Lioness is more on the quiet and laid back end of dogs but she does like to explore nature. She would be a great option for a home who likes to be in nature. With her gorgeous coat, she stands out anywhere she goes and she draws all the eyes in a crowd. Her dream home would also have a lot of room for her to play and run around in so she can live her best life.  Lioness wakes up and heads out on her morning potty walk. She comes inside for breakfast at 9 AM and then spends the remainder of her morning lounging around as she keeps an eye on her babies. She has lunch around 3 PM followed by another short walk. In the evening, she has dinner and then spends the rest of her evening lounging with her humans. She goes out for one more potty and then goes into her room for the night.   Lioness gets along with dogs and cats alike. She needs a slow introduction when she meets new people and they should be aware that they need to go at her pace. Chows are a very unique breed who require a home prepared for the training, socialization, and grooming requirements of the breed. We will be seeking homes who have Chow experience.      Lioness is only an option for homes with Chow experience. Kids should be over the age of 12.     February 10, 2025, 5:41 pm

At around 3 years old, this resilient pup was abandoned in a house deep in the Southern California desert with two other adult dogs and a litter of puppies, left to survive in heartbreaking conditions. One of the younger dogs tragically succumbed to starvation, while another was saved just in time. Despite being thin, ungroomed, and neglected, Tumbleweed emerged from the ordeal with his spirit intact. His resilience and ability to keep his tail wagging through it all speak volumes about his will to live and his readiness to embrace a brighter future. And brighter it is! Now thriving in his foster home, Tumbleweed wakes up every morning at 7:30 AM ready to face the day with joy and enthusiasm. By 8:00 AM, he’s at the door, tail wagging and whining with excitement for his morning walk—his chance to sniff every flower, greet every dog, and (if you’re wearing a hat) size you up before deciding if you’re friend or foe. Breakfast follows at 8:30 AM, where his charming nickname “Mr. Drips” comes to life as he happily splashes water everywhere while drinking. Workdays are full of mini-adventures for Tumbleweed, as he accompanies his human to the Sausalito bike path office. Between lounging in sunny spots and taking hourly strolls, he gets plenty of exercise—and compliments from passersby. By early evening, his favorite part of the day begins: running. Whether it’s a few miles or a full-blown training session, Tumbleweed revels in the chance to stretch his legs and then cap it all off with some post-run zoomies. His evenings are filled with playful antics and, of course, another hearty meal before settling down next to his human’s bed for a well-earned rest. Personality-wise, Tumbleweed is a beautiful blend of Chow Chow loyalty and goofball charm. While initially cautious (especially around new people or abrupt movements), his patience and growing confidence shine through. He’s a velcro dog at heart—always near his person, whether it’s to share an adventure or just keep watch from a comfy spot on the floor. His protective nature means he’s quick to alert you to unexpected noises, but he’s equally quick to settle once he knows everything’s safe. When it comes to other animals, Tumbleweed is curious and friendly, if sometimes a bit socially awkward. He eagerly approaches dogs and cats alike, though his enthusiasm isn’t always reciprocated—he just loves making new friends! Kids? He’s met a few and has been respectful, though he prefers a calm introduction. Tumbleweed is looking for a home that values both adventure and downtime. He thrives with an active lifestyle (beach days, hikes, long walks) but also loves to lounge after a good workout. His ideal family will be patient, understanding of his need for gradual introductions to new people, and ready to shower him with the love he’s waited so long to receive. A home with a yard to explore, a running partner, or someone who works from home would be a dream come true. One of Tumbleweed’s most memorable moments? Bath time! His first bath was a three-hour spa day to rid him of mats, sand, and desert dust—he wasn’t thrilled but was a trooper. His second bath, post-beach trip, turned into a hilarious slip-and-slide session, complete with zoomies and gleeful dashes across the hardwood floor. Tumbleweed is more than just a survivor—he’s a loyal companion, a goofy runner, a vigilant guardian, and, above all, a dog who’s ready to leave the desert behind and find his forever home. If you’re looking for a best friend who’s overcome the odds and is eager to share his zest for life, Tumbleweed is waiting to meet you.February 19, 2025, 6:36 pm
